February 16th, 20109:34 pm
Is she serious?
February 16th, 20109:37 pm
Well, they need all the help they can get. It wouldn’t hurt to give them a shout out.
February 16th, 20109:38 pm
I can’t even watch tonight. This is horrible.
February 16th, 20109:39 pm
At least you have figure skating….
February 16th, 20109:40 pm
February 16th, 20109:43 pm
Blah. The only ACC team we can beat is NC State and they’re in last place.
Is the UNC game on TV?
February 16th, 20109:44 pm
Yup, they’re playing Tech. It’s on WATL.
I know I can count on jeffrey. He’ll cheer for UNC tonight.
February 16th, 20109:47 pm
My goodness that’s not Rathbun is it? There’s no escaping that guy
February 16th, 20109:49 pm
Don’t worry, jeffrey! We’ll come back. Just wait.
Tell me about it. It’s bad enough UNC’s losing but to have to listen to him multiplies my frustration by a gazillion.
February 16th, 20109:52 pm
I love watching Carolina lose! where you at dogsbrekky???
February 16th, 20109:54 pm
DOB I hate to bring this up again but I still can not believe there is no uproar over Harry Connick Jr. singing the National Anthem with a Cap on at the Daytona 500…..Nothing on the net nothing anywhere I can find I have to be missing something.
February 16th, 20109:55 pm
I love watching Carolina lose!
This makes me sad, Josh. Very sad.
February 16th, 20109:58 pm
It’s getting ugly. Better switch over to something else.
February 16th, 20109:59 pm
Oh, it got ugly 5 minutes ago Heath. Watching ice skating now.
February 16th, 201010:00 pm
For me…that actually would be worse.
February 16th, 201010:02 pm
Well, I switched to Kentucky/Miss St but it was halftime so figure skating it was!
February 16th, 201010:07 pm
It is probably a blessing…couldn’t throw it in the ocean in the 1st half.
Soph, sorry man i’ve always hated Carolina.
Andrew in PA
What are the Braves going to do if Glaus gets hurt? And dont say Hinske would make a good everyday firstbase man.
February 16th, 201010:12 pm
Andrew in PA -
February 16th, 201010:17 pm
Soph – don’t know if you flipped back yet, but 21 points in a half is the worst ever for Roy Williams at UNC
February 16th, 201010:18 pm
Geeze, even UGA can get 21 in a half
February 16th, 201010:20 pm
…most of the time
February 16th, 201010:34 pm
Prado goes to 1st. Infante takes over at 2nd and inherits the cleanup slot in the batting order from Glaus, since we all know how much Cox hates juggling his lineup.
Remember when he used to do that with Wally Joyner on the nights he rested Gallaraga?
Halladay, Hamels & Happ are already quaking in their unis at the prospect of facing a Braves’ batting order with Omar Infante batting cleanup.
February 16th, 201010:37 pm
Coach Cal wasn’t kidding about MSU shooting between 30 and 40 3s tonight…already at 21. Bombs away.
Roy Williams will compare this loss to the tragedy in Haiti.
February 16th, 201010:40 pm
now that’s really funny – Comparing the team that won the division with the one that hasn’t even played a game.
February 16th, 201010:45 pm
Detroit might not be “cosmopolitan” enough for Johnny Damon and his wife.
What a drama queen…and I mean Johnny.
He’d better take that line back or he’ll be hearing many, many booos the second he struggles in Motown.
car3boogie, if no one is making a stink over it…maybe its not as stinky as you think? NOW, back to baseball…
But what happens if, while Glaus is hurt, McCann’s eyeballs dry out, Chipper oversleeps, Prado and Escobar collide at second base, and the pitching staff spends the whole night at Smith’s Olde Bar?
February 16th, 201010:47 pm
Heath– this is a Braves forum, not a college hoops forum. Just sayin’.
February 16th, 201010:48 pm
brian, havent you heard? they leaders of 3 of the top 10 recruits for next year and for the top 3 recruits in ‘11.
And how many will stay more than one season?
February 16th, 201010:54 pm
o’brien– this is a braves forum, not a college hoops forum. Just sayin’.
February 16th, 201010:56 pm
I know..with all those baseball games going on right now…what were all of us thinking?…
February 16th, 201010:57 pm
AtTheMike – if you have not read the blog description: ” We talk Braves, baseball in general, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever else (except politics).” Feel free to scroll by the offending passages…
February 16th, 201010:58 pm
..I think we are going down. Just have not been able to shoot at all tonight.
February 16th, 201010:59 pm
I like how the Tech fans are still making noise when UNC has the ball
February 16th, 201011:02 pm
Car3boogie, what do you want me to say to that? Maybe a lot of people don’t view it as the sign of disrespect that you do. Or they do, but just have bigger concerns right now. Don’t know what to tell you, my man.
anyone know where to buy more obscure movies without going to Amazon.com? I want the Kietel version of Bad Lieutenant not the Cage version, want to hear the rap version of Kashmir and the overall bad taste of the original.
Heath – still plenty of time. UK’s only down by 2
Sarcasm is one’s finest traits, Venice Jim and Heath.
I’m only messin with ya.
February 16th, 201011:03 pm
Heath – there’s still plenty of time. UK is only down 2
February 16th, 201011:04 pm
I’ve got bigger concerns…Like Harry Connick, Jr. Not removing his hat for the National Anthem.
February 16th, 201011:05 pm
That doesn’t sound like sarcasm.
February 16th, 201011:07 pm
anyone know where to buy more obscure movies without going to Amazon.com? THICK
just google Bad Lieutenant buy or purchase Shirley that should give you some hits.
you might also try Half.com It is tied to EBay but you don’t bid, they just list the price they are looking for.
February 16th, 201011:08 pm
jeffrey d, you’re right. Now shutup and talk braves baseball— ONLY!
February 16th, 201011:09 pm
Thank you, I just want to walk in a store somewhere in metro Atl, pick it up and maybe some others I missed. But, sounds like the inter-web is my best bet. Thanx for the info.
February 16th, 201011:11 pm
Anyone seen the U2 360 tour (you west coast Braves fans)? Sorry if I missed prior reviews. I watched “Rattle & Hum” on a VH1 channel earlier and realized they have 22 more years of catalog since, and was wondering what is featured on the current tour. Not that I doubt it is well worth seeing. Just wondering.
Start a valid Braves baseball point that hasn’t been beaten to death….I’ll gladly join in.
Well, I hear that Medlen went to the dentist today. And Hudson played a good game of Scrabble with his wife.
February 16th, 201011:13 pm
IMO the only additions to the catalog in 22 years was Auchtung. So, you’ve seen most of it.
February 16th, 201011:15 pm
jeffrey d -
I heard that Huddy had her until she pulled out ‘boxing’ with triple-word score at the end to beat him by 1. It was quite dramatic.
February 16th, 201011:17 pm
Zooropa wasn’t bad, I also bought Pop and Leave Behind, but really – stay were you are on the band.
Thick Funny, I just watched that yesterday. It’s decent. My favorite Abel Ferrara flick though is King of New York with Chris Walken. If you haven’t seen it, I think you might like it.
That X on a triple word can be devastating
February 16th, 201011:18 pm
February 16th, 2010
IMO the only additions to the catalog in 22 years was Auchtung. So, you’ve seen most of it.”
Well I totally disagree with your assessment, so I will disregard your review. But thanks anyway.
Heath – I think they got that report wrong – they rechecked the addition, and Huddy won by 1…
February 16th, 201011:19 pm
Heath, how can you be on here popping jokes right now? If my team was in this situation I wouldn’t even be able to stay seated
February 16th, 201011:20 pm
They had that Scrabble match on GameCast?
I’ve seen it and loved it also. It’s been a while, but wasn’t the CSI Miami guy in that also?
they rechecked the addition, and Huddy won by 1… VJ
that’s a good thing or Huddy would be talkin’ ’bout it being a career game.
February 16th, 201011:22 pm
yeah David Caruso AND the new CSI Vegas guy Fishburne was great in it.
Did that kid say Cult? There have been some whackos but that takes a big bite of the cake. This is my reading material and I read this blog completely most nights or my lunch hour. The subject matter is good information about the braves and enlightening information about other subjects. No one wants to hear his silly foolish dribble. Please, go somewhere as suggested.
I truly hope JJJ is okay and can’t imagine the lineup without him. I don’t have confidence in Hudson or Lowe.
Baby, if 40 is nursing home time then something is wrong. At my age I am not near that stage so I suggest you get off that wagon. Didn’t you know the new 40 is 25? Statistics are proven that with the modern knowledge, lifestyle changes and nutritional improvements we will live longer and be healthier. That is what scary to the powers that be. What are they going to do when we all turn 80 and still driving and living.
February 16th, 201011:23 pm
yes, apparently it was on gamecast…hence the mistake. VJ has been there b4..but we can’t discuss that.
And why is MSU wearing dark at home?
February 16th, 201011:24 pm
Just an old Dude who got disconnected from the band. I saw them at the Omni in 1985-Unforgettable Fire tour and again in 1987 at Foxboro Stadium. So you’re probably right as I’ve not really listened since the Leave behind record.
February 16th, 201011:26 pm
can you believe Fishburne was 16 when he played the role for Apocolypse Now.
February 16th, 201011:27 pm
This game is only close because of UK’s unusually bad 3-pt shooting tonight: 4-23 (17.4%) Yuck.
February 16th, 201011:29 pm
This officiating is … oh, nevermind.
February 16th, 201011:31 pm
Bad calls both ways all night.
February 16th, 201011:33 pm
What do you think of expanding instant replay in Baseball?
February 16th, 201011:34 pm
Heath – way to hang in…
That was when he was still Larry Fishburne. Dude went uptown on us later to Laurence
thickfreakness – they lost me for a while too, but they got me back with “All You That Can’t Leave Behind” and haven’t lost me again since.
February 16th, 201011:35 pm
Played like crud….so, I’m very happy with this win. Even more happy with it because of all the nonsense from the MSU fans this week and now here at the end of the game.
DOB – you should see officating in the Big 10!!
February 16th, 201011:37 pm
I wouldn’t mind seeing it expanded some Thick. They are talking about adding cameras so they can start judging every defensive play exactly like they do the pitching now. might as well keep the umps in line too
February 16th, 201011:39 pm
I get this futuristic look were they sew a laser receptor across the uniform chest and knees, computer receptive foul lines and out of the playing field (HR) receptors played in plastic stadiums on blue fields.
February 16th, 201011:40 pm
And I think “The Joshua Tree” has to be one of the top 10 best albums ever in the history of rock, but I know that ground has been well covered here before
robots be playing it soon my man
It kind of goes without saying, doesn’t it?
February 16th, 201011:42 pm
you know I exaggerate, I’d like to see them get more plays right.
February 16th, 201011:44 pm
Well when robots are playing baseball none of us will be here anymore, either, so we won’t care. Hello “Terminator”-land.
yeah me too. I’m not all that tied to the current way just cause it’s traditional
February 16th, 201011:46 pm
Let’s cover it again – I like one tree, bullet, running – but they just needed a little “sentimental hygiene” and they got it with achtung, but then i just lost intereset beginning with pop.
February 16th, 201011:48 pm
I don’t know that it has to go all Terminator on us MBF. We just need to be certain to incorporate Isamov’s three Laws of Robotics into all of them.
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
Sorry for being sarcastic and running with the metaphor. The Braves have suffered from enough bad calls over the years to make me a fan of all the video help the umps can get! Including at 1st base!
February 16th, 201011:50 pm
nolie- I’m kind of familiar – is that fact or fiction? who is Isamov?
But Nolie, when they go “intelligent,” they won’t care about our laws!
February 16th, 201011:51 pm
MIBraves- you are correct!
still can not believe there is no uproar over Harry Connick Jr. singing the National Anthem with a Cap on at the Daytona 500
Dude. Its the Daytona 500. Half the crowd probably wasn’t even wearing shoes. Nobody notices manners at a NASCAR event.
February 16th, 201011:52 pm
Is “Green Zone” in any way tied to the Bourne movies?
February 16th, 201011:53 pm
MIBraves – correct about the calls in Braves playoff games, but if you say the umpire union was broken because of the 97 NLCS, people think you’re a homer.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
