Chipper was the onliest player in history to…
score 100 runs
hit 300
hit 40 doubles
hit 45 homers
have 100 rbi
steal 25 bases.
walk 100 times all in one season.

Geez…what was his OBP?!!?

I wouldn’t listen to Rammstein on a deserted island either; not really mood music for that. It’s better for driving, working out, or stomping the helpless. As per your list, Led Zep, Cash, Neil Young, Muddy Waters and the Pogues to be sure (and Dylan’s first three). Nick Cave? Based on the album one of my female hipster friends made me listen to a few years back, I’d try braving the sharks for the mainland first. Though to be fair, that isn’t a big sample size.

Have y’all talked to Chipper lately? I can’t imagine he used to be cockier.

As for roids, they help you heal quicker. No way Chipper or Hampton ever got anywhere near them.

DOB I agree, I dont know how Kentucky fans dont get jacked up some. Answer me this since your a Kansas fan and I am a Missouri fan; Missouri fans get super excited when they play Kansas who is normally ranked higher and usually beats us, however it seems that Kansas gets excited too. Do you all or is that just my imagination? I could see Kansas Vs. Mizzou same as Kentucky Vs. Vanderbilt.

The Georgia Dugout Club Clinic had Cecil Fielder, Otis Nixon, Marquis Grissom and his brother on a forum today. They did a great job of sharing stories about their lives and careers. I wish all high school baseball players could have heard them. And how great it was to see Keith Lockhart and Charlie Liebrandt at the clinic. Many former Braves are coaching at the high school level. It really makes me proud to be a Braves fan and I also gained alot of respect for Cecil Fielder.

DOB,

Yes, those old arenas in the ACC were something else. I saw a game courtside at Cole Filed House during Gary Williams’ first year at Maryland. Terrific atmosphere. And the folks at NC State are not at all happy with RBC Center. They may get a little more revenue there (maybe — not clear because they don’t sell many tickets for nonconference games), but the atmosphere is pretty sterile. Reynolds used to rock.

God, I mean I was only 15 and havn’t looked back much but, again, NO WONDER they lost!! Matched up against those late 90’s Yankees lineup?? Damn, I don’t think I sat down for the last half-hour of that game. Just an epic game in Aggieville. Sherron = clutch.

Eric from MO: No, that’s not just your imagination about Mizzou-KU. Jayhawks and their fans get at least as jacked up for those basketball games as they do for the ones with K-State. Not only because Mizzou is a bitter rival and the whole border-war thing, but because the Tigers were a lot more competitive for most of the past two or three decades than K-State was. But now that K-State is back, the KU-KSU rivalry has become huge again for KU and not just for K-State. I mean, for about 25 years KU won nearly every game between the teams, so it was hard to say that was as big a hoops rivalry as KU-Mizzou. But now it is again, no doubt.

I always felt like Mizzou and K-State were pretty much equals as rivals of KU in football and basketball. And also, for a lot of years going back to when Billy Tubbs was at OU, back when I was at KU, the games against the Sooners were some of KU’s most anticipated and intense (including, of course, the 1988 national championship game between the two teams).

He could be a great defender, but strike out 100 times and they’d say “yeah another 100 strikeout guy thats what we need” unless someone bats .320/.450/.550 with 40 HRs and about 20 Ks with gold glove defense they will find a reason to hate him, and even then some will find a problem with him. Just the nature of people unfortunately.

About UK…

UK has an issue where the arena has zero luxury type suites for the big donors to sit. When they moved the students into one endzone it caused a bit of a rift because season ticket holders were being pushed to the upper arena. While it should be different when a new arena gets built, most of the people you see on the sidelines in the lower level are relatively older, and are used to being so good they just came to watch for most games, and got really up for the big games. The average age of the younger arena is probably in the mid 50’s, aside from the students in one endzone. It is an issue most UK fans recognize, but can’t do anything about because all of the money that the donors pump into the athletic department which has it’s own budget and runs separate of the school. The big money people aren’t moving, and they certainly aren’t going to get loud for not big name opponents. Vandy, even ranked in the top 25, has historically been pretty bad, and that’s how most relate to it still. Kansas State can put all of it’s students on the floor and sidelines mainly because it doesn’t have to worry about as many big donors and it isn’t as much of a national program. It is what it is, and hopefully it will be addressed with the new arena being planned. But again, big game atmosphere, nothing matches Rupp.

It reminds me of how last year you kept insisting that the Braves should sign Derek Lowe and how he was just sitting there available. I dont see how they regret the signing of Lowe. Teams try to move big contracts all the time and thats what they tried to do. Just because a guy has a bad year doesn’t mean hes over the hill. I think its been stated several times if you remove his three worst starts the guy has a pretty dang good year. I think a lot of people will be suprised when he bounces back this year. The guy had a down year and still won 15. He did what he needed to to keep the Braves in the game.

I took my son to the caravan in Auburn today. I was a little disappointed that Shafer was not there leaving Medlin and Freeman as the only players with Chino Cahidia there as well.

Freeman was fairly quiet but seemed like a nice kid. Medlin was very outgoing with the fans and took pictures as well as signed anything put in front of him. Cahidia is a pretty funny guy.

Not a bad experience but it would have been nice to have a couple of more players there. I will probably try to get my son to another on of the local events when there are more guys there.

I’ve come from just the other side of no-where,
To this big time lonesome town.
They got a lotta ice an’ snow here,
Half as cold as all the people I’ve found.
Every way I try to go here,
Seems to bring me down.
I seen about enough to know where I belong.

I’ve got a mind to see the headlights shinin’,
On that old white line between my heart and home.
Sick of spendin’ Sundays, wishin’ they were Mondays,
Sittin’ in a park alone.
So give my best to anyone who’s left who ever done me,
Any lovin’ way but wrong,
Tell them that the pride of just the other side of nowhere’s goin’ home.

Takin’ nothing back to show there,
For these dues I have paid,
But the soul I almost sold here,
And the body I’ve been givin’ away.
Fadin’ from the neon nightime glow here,
Headin’ for the light of day.
Just the other side of nowhere, goin’ home.

I’ve got a mind to see the headlights shinin’,
On that old white line between my heart and home.
Sick of spendin’ Sundays, wishin’ they were Mondays,
Sittin’ in a park alone.
So give my best to anyone who’s left who ever done me,

Sometime, anytime, sugar me sweet
Little miss ah innocent sugar me, yeah

Hey!
C’mon, take a bottle, shake it up
Break the bubble, break it up

Pour some sugar on me
Ooh, in the name of love
Pour some sugar on me
C’mon fire me up
Pour your sugar on me
Oh, I can’t get enough

I’m hot, sticky sweet
From my head to my feet yeah

Listen! red light, yellow light, green-a-light go!
Crazy little woman in a one man show
Mirror queen, mannequin, rhythm of love
Sweet dream, saccharine, loosen up

You gotta squeeze a little, squeeze a little
Tease a little more
Easy operator come a knockin’ on my door
Sometime, anytime, sugar me sweet
Little miss innocent sugar me, yeah

Take a bottle, shake it up
Break the bubble, break it up

Pour some sugar on me
Ooh, in the name of love
Pour some sugar on me
C’mon fire me up
Pour your sugar on me
Oh, I can’t get enough

I’m hot, sticky sweet
From my head to my feet yeah

You got the peaches, I got the cream
Sweet to taste, saccharine
‘Cos I’m hot, say what, sticky sweet
From my head, my head, to my feet

Do you take sugar? one lump or two?

Take a bottle, shake it up
Break the bubble, break it up

Pour some sugar on me
Ooh, in the name of love
Pour some sugar on me
C’mon fire me up
Pour your sugar on me
Oh, I can’t get enough
Pour some sugar on me
Oh, in the name of love
Pour some sugar on me
Get it, come get it
Pour your sugar on me
Ooh
Pour some sugar on me
Yeah! Sugar me!

FOR NOLIE

here’s your favorite bands lyrics and for the record nice to know I can get a 60 or 70 year old man to be childish pretty funny, to be that old and be so pathetic.

“I Want It That Way”

Yeah

You are my fire
The one desire
Believe when I say
I want it that way

But we are two worlds apart
Can’t reach to your heart
When you say
That I want it that way

[Chorus:]
Tell me why
Ain’t nothin’ but a heartache
Tell me why
Ain’t nothin’ but a mistake
Tell me why
I never wanna hear you say
I want it that way

Am I your fire
Your one desire
Yes I know it’s too late
But I want it that way

[Chorus]

Now I can see that we’re falling apart
From the way that it used to be, yeah
No matter the distance
I want you to know
That deep down inside of me…

You are my fire
The one desire
You are
You are, you are, you are

Don’t wanna hear you say
Ain’t nothin’ but a heartache
Ain’t nothin’ but a mistake
(Don’t wanna hear you say)
I never wanna hear you say
I want it that way

Tell me why
Ain’t nothin’ but a heartache
Tell me why
Ain’t nothin but a mistake
Tell me why
I never wanna hear you say
(Don’t wanna hear you say it)
I want it that way
I want it that way

and now for Nolies 2nd favorite band NSYNC

“Bye, Bye, Bye”

(Hey, Hey)
Bye, Bye, Bye
Bye, Bye…
Bye, Bye…
Oh, Oh..

I’m doin’ this tonight,
You’re probably gonna start a fight.
I know this can’t be right.
Hey baby come on,
I loved you endlessly,
When you weren’t there for me.
So now it’s time to leave and make it alone
I know that I can’t take no more
It ain’t no lie
I wanna see you out that door
Baby, bye, bye, bye…

Bye Bye
Don’t wanna be a fool for you
Just another player in your game for two
You may hate me but it ain’t no lie,
Baby, bye, bye, bye…
Bye Bye
Don’t really wanna make it tough,
I just wanna tell you that I had enough.
It might sound crazy,
But it ain’t no lie,
Baby, bye, bye, bye

(Oh, Oh)
Just hit me with the truth,
Now, girl you’re more than welcome to.
So give me one good reason,
Baby come on
I live for you and me,
And now I really come to see,
That life would be much better once you’re gone.

I know that I can’t take no more
It ain’t no lie,
I wanna see you out that door
Baby, bye, bye, bye…
Bye Bye
Don’t wanna be a fool for you
Just another player in your game for two
You may hate me but it ain’t no lie,
Baby Bye, bye, bye…
Bye Bye
Don’t really wanna make it tough,
I just wanna tell you that I had enough (ooh ooh)
It might sound crazy,
But it ain’t no lie,
Baby, bye, bye, bye

I’m giving up I know for sure
I don’t wanna be the reason for your love no more
Bye Bye
I’m checkin’ out
I’m signin’ off
Don’t wanna be the loser and I’ve had enough

Don’t wanna be your fool
In this game for two
So I’m leavin’ you behind
Bye, bye, bye…

I don’t wanna make it tough (wanna make it tough)
But I had enough
And it ain’t no lie (Bye, bye baby…)
Bye, Bye
Don’t wanna be a fool for you
Just another player in your game for two (I don’t wanna be your fool)
But it ain’t no lie
Baby bye, bye, bye…

Don’t really wanna make it tough (don’t really wanna make it tough),
I just wanna tell you that I had enough (that I had enough).
Might sound crazy,
But it ain’t no lie,
Bye, bye, bye

I’m just kiddin’ around idjit, that’s what the smiley meant. little itty bitty one who’s too chickenshyt to use his own regular blog name. I love you macho guys who are so cowardly that you have to hide you first fake name behind a second fake name when you cross people, nimrod.
I mean c’mon how serious are we supposed to take such a weiner, and why would you think anybody would get mad at such apetty little pigeon?
Did I hurt your itty bitty lil’ feelings just lately? sure sounds like you’re havin’ a lil’ pet. I is so sorry puko if I did. I been tryin’ sooo hard to be gooder lately too.
hmmm, now who did I recently miff who has a touchy temper and a childish set of responses.
Hey I bet I know, not long ago at all.
Bring some more putty tat. :)
