“until mid-June with the notion that Heyward will come in and give the team a burst of youthful energy and a shot in the arm for the summer stretch run, ala Francoeur in 2005. You can’t downplay how much Jeff meant to that 2005 division title. He was on fire both offensively and defensively!” Chuck

Totally agree. Just hope it’s not too late for it to matter. Don’t think it will be. Like I said. If Chipper and Glaus are healthy and hitting coming out of ST, then it’s a no-brainer to keep Heyward down.

If one of those guys (who are being relied on to provide power), goes down, it might be necessary to break camp with Heyward from the get go.

Here’s an interesting scenario. Let’s say Chipper gets hurt in ST and Heyward is going to break camp with big club. If Heyward has a monster spring, does Bobby put him in the 3-hole right away?

Chipper was thrust there right away, and I think it’s pretty evident that Heyward is destined to be the Braves 3-hole hitter for the next half decade after Chipper steps down (and maybe before).

But hey. I’ll bite my tongue on that one. Because Chipper is going to be healthy and huge this year.

In fact, in perfect “off-season homer” fashion, (and to keep pace with my Hudson predictions), I’ll say that Chipper and Glaus will battle each other for NL comeback player of the year. :-)

Is this what you and nolie referred to as traditional jazz? TOM

I tried to explain it above. Brubeck would be considered Be-Bop I guess. That is what many think of as traditional jazz. His is usually a bit more melodic than some. Try Miles Davis Kind of Blue if you can find it. It along with Take Five are two of the most popular and most respected albums cut.

“You’re first mistake is assuming that any live album is actually live. At the very least, vocals get overdubbed (or at least the mistakes do).” n8

your first mistake is using “you’re” instead of “your.” :)

your second mistake is assuming that because some live albums are polished up, you can assume the fleetwood mac live album is as well. that’s called faulty logic. i’ve heard stevie nicks sing live plenty of times and i just dont hear what you’re hearing. she sounded fine live in her fleetwood mac years–when i heard her, at least. i wasnt at the show with your parents, of course.

and who listens to their parents’ opinion on music, much less bases an argument on such? my parents think celine dion and anne murray are good singers. i’d rather drink bleach than be subjected to a celine dion album.

and your fourth mistake is going from fleetwood mac to kiss in your analysis. bad form man. bad form. that’s like saying “coltrane and miles davis had an untamable, pioneering spirit….similarly, jani lane from the band warrant….”

just having fun, man….

moe berg from last night: Where do we identify the seeming gap between the Braves and the Phillies?

its in the offense. the phillies offense is so good, so potent, that it is a huge roadblock to overtaking them.
