You know why the Grammy’s suck? Because mainstream music sucks. All of this crap on the tv tonight. Did see on DBT’s Twitter where the Booker T record won a Grammy but I havent heard that one.
the grammys try to dazzle the eyes b/c their top sellers cant dazzle the ears. for example, this black eyed peas song is ready-made for a beer commercial.
I can’t understand any possible way Damon would be a good fit with the Braves. 1) We already have a decent leadoff hitter (McLouth) with another guy (Schafer) wating in the wings at that position, 2) We already have enough lefhanded hitters, 3) if we acquire another outfielder, it should be one with power since none of our current outfielders have great power (plus the power hitting first baseman we signed is an injury risk). I would much rather let guys like Schafer, Heyward, Diaz, etc. play than watch another over the hill outfielder (like G. Anderson). There is a reason certain players are currently marked down on the clearance rack, while the really good players have already signed.
I agree with those who aren’t enjoying this year’s grammys. How many times do we need to hear that overplayed black eyed peas song (although Fergie isn’t unpleasant to look at)? I guess tonight’s not going to be a good, good night watching the grammys.
joerochester, I also frequent the clearance rack or outlet stores when shopping. However, I don’t run a major league baseball team. We’ve already seen what a bargain basement LF is like, and it was pretty ugly. I don’t consider something a bargain if it’s poor quality – I like to find good quality items at a discount price.
All the musicians up there holding their instruments…no one is playing anything, it’s all piped in and pony. Seriously all they need up there is the performer and a computer. Even a cool thing like old school Doug E. Fresh and Slash looks lame. Sad.

The reason I came up with $7, is because he just turned down $6 from the Yankees. Of course, if he keeps turning down offers, he may have to either retire, or take a lot less.
Personally, I wouldn’t want him on the Braves, unless his price was a lot cheaper.
That’s cool, Jurrjens. Kind of shocking they got Ozzie to go there….no offense, just many high profile types stick to the big city places on book tour.
I think he turned down that offer from the Yankees because he didn’t want to walk into that locker room making half what he did last year, especially when players like Nick Swisher are making just about the same.
“If there’s a tear on my face… makes me shiver to the bone… it shakes the bed…. just a heartache”

You know who I feel bad for? The brain dead idiots like Beyonce, Taylor Swift and the like who actually think these Grammy awards mean something. You can so tell they are so excited and honored to be there, and are really hoping they win. It’s so embarrassing.
You can tell alot of the acts are like, whatever, who cares, doesn’t mean anything, let’s just show up, put on a little show or maybe even an over the top one if that’s what they ask us to do, keep our name out there from a marketing standpoint, don’t make too much of a douche of ourselves, get an award if we get one and be fake gracious about it, if not just clap, mix and mingle, get to meet some interesting folks we might be able to work with later, and so on.
But these braindead people like Beyonce are hilarious to watch and listen to when they talk about the Grammys because they so don’t get what the whole darn thing is about. They really think it’s about honoring the best, and not just another marketing gimmick.
The funniest thing last year was that Beyonce, Swift, Kanye, and Jay-Z actually gave a sh!t who won an MTV award. There is nothing more meaningless than the MTV awards. MTV doesn’t even pretend their awards mean anything. But these fools were fighting over it. That’s how dumb they are.

It’s just too bad Micheal Jackson left that 600 lb gorilla in the room concerning his extra curricular habits. Makes it tough to truly glorify him. At least for me. Glorify might not be the right word but I think you know what I mean.
Oddly enough…Leonard Nemoy’s insistance not to be “cameo” but and intrigal part of the new movie has probably helped the movie establish a base from which future movies can be derived. Now they don’t have to “recreate” the old series since there is and alternate reality…
