We are also supposed to have rain starting this afternoon, and then lasting through the week – possibly a couple of inches of rain on some days – trying to keep me from missing Atlanta, I guess…
McFann talking of Nazis….John Banner of Hogan’s Heroes was really a Jew and served some time in a concentration camp during the war. maybe you already knew that.
It could be, especially in those hilly places where they seem to place houses in precarious positions (not an issue here) – I was told this morning that the relative lack of wildfires of late might help in that regard…
I’ve been spending a lot of my time on Facebook, but been checking back-n-forth on the blog(s) when I can…..and btw….I’m not a kid…I am 34 years old, just so you know..(LOL).

(and rain out here really is an event- we are expecting close to 10 inches over the next 5 days and the local news people are telling everyone to “stay off the roads”- even I had to laugh at that one)
Smoltz has been better than Glavine for his career, esp. considering the playoffs and what he did as our closer too. Smoltz should be a first ballot Hall of Famer, and I predict that he will be. Glavine probably will be too, but Smoltz is the greater pitcher and their careers show this, IMHO. Regarding Maddux, he was simply the best pitcher of his era, period.

“Stay off the roads?” …. In LA? Yeah, that is funny. That’s like telling Bobby Cox not to get ejected. (I wanted to be the first one to mention something about baseball, on this page, but Jeff beat me to it.)
Call it cultural differences, but Eli Manning refused to play in that He!! hole known as San Diego. So he was traded to NY, that lovely burrough in NJ.
In the event of the apocalypse, there will be a prevalence of machetes, cannibalism, and white guys in dreadlocks and goggles. Things will be bleak, but at least you can follow Denzel Washington around as he wanders the parched landscape with floods of gravitas, occasionally engaging in awesomely staged silhouette-melees with bands of barbarian thugs.

I can’t believe the parents that take their young kids to those wrestling events today. There’s so much sex involved that a little 5th grader has no business seeing/hearing.
I’m sure 1,000s of elementary teachers have written kids up for yelling, “Suck it!”
Sorry but that just ain’t right.
