First of all Paul, I think I speak for everyone when I say…WHAT? That analogy was such a reach it actually made my head hurt. Second, I don’t think George Bush was a good president in for any reason. And finally, someone who routinely calls people morons, and has apparently been a sports fan for like 50 years, should know there’s no hyphen in playoffs. It’s not like it was a typo.
Wow, that analogy is still doing wonders on my equilibrium.
One of the most exciting moments of my life has been tarnished by realizing that it made a certain someone happy…
January 9th, 201011:37 pm
Being faithful has to do with character Paul…..and I’m sure you’ll have a great comeback for that because you just don’t understand.
January 9th, 201011:38 pm
lol VJ, are you a Cowboys fan too? Please say no.
January 9th, 2010
I dont mind being judged for the content of what I say
It’s a good thing rice-a-roni phony , because from what I’ve read on this blog you have been judged harshly, and fairly so.

Great Paulie L.e.n.t.z. on a hot streak tonight!!!
Soph – as a Giants fan?…shudder…

BOBBY CREMINS jumped center for the FREDERICK MILITARY ACADAMY high school basket-ball team in the mid-60’s at 6′ 2″. My mother ran the canteen there when he attended. I went to the college arm of the BEAZLEY empire at the same time.
January 9th, 201011:40 pm
lol @ Rice-a-roni reference above, and to all such future references.
January 9th, 201011:41 pm
brvs1fan You are absolutely right. As a person collecting the balance of a contract for which they failed terribly is a character issue too. Understanding is the first step to recovery.
The A Bomb
Jared Allen, Pat Williams, Kevin Williams etc. on fresh legs will be sheer terror. They’ll have to chip Allen with a tight end and/or a back and that will hurt their screen/short pass offense. Romo didn’t face anything like that in New Orleans.
Plus, Minnesota is 8-0 at home. 2 wins in the last 10 years. They have Favre.
You keep homering. You should. You’re a fan. I am objective. Enjoy your one win in 13 years.
While on the HOF topic will Maddux wear a Cubs or a Braves hat?
January 9th, 201011:42 pm
The Saints are rested and are not happy with a 3-game losing streak. Think you can beat them twice in the same season… especially since you guys are the ones that started the Saints’ downfall? I smell payback.
January 9th, 201011:43 pm
Gloat you hound. SNYDER has plans for all those who denegrate the majestry of the great REDSKINS franchise. Hail to the REDSKINS.

“HOLDING, No. 76 OFFENSE…. 10-YARD PENALTY…. STILL 3RD DOWN!”
It will be a long, long night for Flozell Adams with that animal next weekend. Bank on it.

Why can I pitcher one of the rice-a-roni phony’s craigslist lovelies saying ” I’ll give you your money back if you will just shut up”.

January 9th, 201011:54 pm
The A Bomb…………..Carolina gave a good blueprint on how to play Minnesota. Dallas has a much better defense than Carolina.
This time of year, rest is overrated. The results in the “playoffs” the past few years have shown that playing on Wild Card weekend hasnt had a negative effect on a team’s chances on advancing. Philly and Arizona both played in the NFC Championship game despite having to play on the road in the Divisional Round.
Pittsburgh played 3 straight road games to win the Super Bowl in 2006. The Giants won 3 straight road games in 2007 to win the Super Bowl.
Minnesota lost 2 of their last 3 games. New Orleans lost their last 3. Dallas has won 4 straight.
Simply put, I’d take MOMENTUM and playing well over home field advantage any day of the week.
January 9th, 201011:57 pm
Well, it is a baseball blog after all.
January 9th, 201011:58 pm
richbrave………what kind of “plans” does Daniel Snyder have? Signing Deion Sanders? Bruce Smith, DeAngelo Hall? What about reeling Joe Gibbs from the racetrack? How did Steve Spurrier turn out?
Al Michaels said it best earlier tonight, “Dallas owned the Eagles this year, the Eagles owned the Giants, the Giants owned the Cowboys……….while EVERYONE owned the Redskins this year”, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
How old is the show “Cheers”?
January 9th, 201011:59 pm
Brandon – it started in 1982.
January 10th, 201012:00 am
Wow. Didn’t know that. Thanks Soph.
January 10th, 201012:01 am
Where’s the “big bat” Frank Wren talked about getting? I too like Troy Glaus, but I can’t imagine him belting more than 15 to 20 homers and his defense will be a sharp decline from Tex,Kotchman,LaRoche, for sure.
O’Brien– have you cleared up the bad attitude you presented a few days ago? I sure hope so. Don’t take offense to my comment on what views I think you take politically. LOL!!
Yeah Lentz — did you see what the Vikings did to the Giants? MOMENTUM?
In 1980, and I’m man enough to admit it, the Falcons won 11 straight games before losing to the Rams in OT in the season finale with their subs. Two weeks later, they had a 10-point lead on your Cowboys before losing.
At that point, there was NO TEAM, and I mean NO TEAM playing any better than the Falcons. They had momentum. So much for momentum.
You have a puncher’s chance if Peterson turns the ball over, or if Favre throws some picks. Romo is capable of the same as he exhibited tonight throwing that pass that was nearly called an interception. He will face MUCH MORE pressure next week. Flozell Adams’ foot speed matches up like shyt (as you say) against Jared Allen. That is undebatable. Allen is a game changer especially in Minneapolis.
Objectively, and I know you will disagree because you can’t be objective, Cowboys have their work cut out for them.
January 10th, 201012:02 am
Early 80’s Brandon
How bout them COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!
January 10th, 201012:03 am
Soph were you born yet…in 1982 that is
The Bar is actually in Maine….right?
The A Bomb……….The Giants in that last game basically mailed it in. What a joke, lol. Giants finished 8-8. Gave up 40+ points to 4 straight teams to end the season.
Let’s see what the point spread is for next week.
January 10th, 201012:04 am
Paul you can’t be “emotionally faithful” to someone you’ve made a committment to and have sex with someone else. and sure you can have sex with other people while in a relationship…..don’t make it right. Not trying to sound self righteous cause I’ve made my own mistakes. Unlike you, apparently, I’ve learned from them. How boput them Braves!
After he takes control of all media outlets relating to the NFL he will replace DALLAS shills such as TROY AIKMAN with balanced announcers and analysts such as JOE THEISMANN on all networks. Then he will locate all those individuals such as yourself who dare to laugh at the wonderful REDSKINS, and have you muzzled. You say you haf reelativees in GERMANY? There vill be reprisals!!!!
January 10th, 201012:05 am
Nope tiger. ‘83.
January 10th, 201012:06 am
So, am I the youngest of the denizens?
January 10th, 201012:07 am
Lentz — I’d say Minnesota by 5 1/2 if Flozell plays.
I’d say Dallas by 10 if Flozell gets food poisoning from his large, grotesque pregame meal.
The A Bomb……………Dude, I never said that it would be a cake walk in Minnesota. I have already admitted that it will be tough. I have a lot of respect for Brett Farve.
However, I also have faith in our ability to move the ball and put pressure on the opposing QB. If Flozell needs help blocking, we have guys who can help him. Plus, Romo is mobile. It isnt like he’s a freaking statue in the pocket, lol.
Also, let’s see how the Minnesota O-line block our own beast DeMarcus Ware. I’d take Ware over Jared Allen ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. Ware will hound Farve all night long.
It should be a good game. However I’m confident that we will win and advance to the NFC Championship game.
January 10th, 201012:09 am
The coldest I have ever been was in Tampa Bay Dec 83, until I came home to So Ga for Christmas. Well below 0 temps with the wind chill in Albany.

January 10th, 201012:15 am
But you know what Lentz, Minnesota is not forced to blitz like Philadelphia ALWAYS does. The slant/screen game is not as effective against them.
You’re going a little much with Ware over Allen. Ware is a terrific player. I’ll take Bryant McKinnie blocking Ware over The Motel from Hell trying to move against that animal Jared Allen.
And my point is that if Adams gets help from a RB or from an extra TE, that is fewer options for Romo as he scrambles around. I’m no Favre fan but the only thing that will help Dallas is turnovers, just like what the Falcons got giftwrapped in Week 16 last season. Peterson fumbled all over the field and we won and made the playoffs,
Tom Waits wears Redwing boots
January 10th, 2010
I’m familiar with the definition of the word impressed.
The A Bomb……..and you say that I am not objective? Come on, man!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!
January 10th, 201012:16 am
Some commentors have assumed it to mean one thing, while other commentors have assumed it to mean something else. Find your own meaning.
I’m gonna go let my wife know that I wouldn’t be cheating on her if I go have sex with another woman as long as I stay “emotionally faithful” to her. I’m sure as long as I tell her the idea came from a guy with the moral standing of Dentz she will completely understand and agree…..
January 10th, 201012:17 am
Interesting interview with DOB on Deadjournalist.com. DOB hope you don’t mind that i share the link.
January 10th, 201012:18 am
Macon if she bans you do you have the genie that lets you stay in the house…maybe tell here you are M@con
The A Bomb………….Dallas has more than DeMarcus Ware who can rush the QB. Anthony Spencer from the other side and Jay Ratliff up the middle can hound the QB as well.
Do you know why Dallas doesnt have to blitz (an NFL low only 4% of the time)? Because our front 4 puts intense pressure on the QB (plus we have guys we can rotate in who can put pressure on the QB).
January 10th, 201012:19 am
“You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows” and you certainly don’t need a guy who wears redwing boots or wing tipped shoes how to think.
January 10th, 201012:20 am
I neither root for Minnesota OR Dallas. If it was the Falcons, OK.
Just think the Cowboys have a serious problem — Flozell Adams vs. Jared Allen.
I like Bryant McKinnie and I’m not saying Ware won’t get a sack or two but Adams and that whole offensive line has a tendency to false start. That will hurt them in key situations next week.
You see guys, it’s all about WANTING to be alone. It has nothing to do with being a butt-ugly jerk or anything like that…..honest!
January 10th, 201012:21 am

January 10th, 2010
I don’t take comfort in simplistic, black and white fallacies. To me it meant nothing.
January 10th, 201012:22 am
Dallas has a great defense, no doubt.
But the Vikes will have fresh legs and being a Falcons fan, I saw fresh legs on teams (an unfair) FOUR TIMES, including Dallas!
Give Allen and the Williams boys fresh legs and that is a problem.
Best of luck Paul
January 10th, 201012:23 am
LMAO!!! Freakin awesome!! I’m married to a Latina woman, so I’m thinking the banning would involve a lot of spanish vulgarities and a knife. Don’t think the genie will be wanting to get in the middle.
We’ll see what the spread is Lentz.
Now you can concentrate on the other subject you’re discussing with the masses.
January 10th, 201012:24 am
My friend is a die hard braves fan and he’s worried about us. He’s positive Joe as we call him so it’s always news when he’s a little negative.
January 10th, 201012:25 am
Paul there are plenty of women out there that want to have sex with no emodtional committment…..if you pay for it it’s generally because you have to.
January 10th, 201012:26 am
Now you get it. “It is not he or she or them or it that you belong to”
“It’s life and life only”
Now, go listen to the song “All Along the Watchtower”. hint, Dylan’s version is better, after all, he wrote the song. Or might I suggest “Masters of War”, same song writer.
January 10th, 201012:29 am
Now we’re talking music. Or at least I am.
January 10th, 201012:30 am
Thanks for the suggestion Tom Waits wears Redwing boots, I’m familiar with Dylan’s body of work as well. I was simply curious as to why you found that phrase impressive. No worries.

Where’s Lew, Steve from Ohio, TNPaul and the rest of the crowd that talks baseball with thought and passion? Me & Lew might have our differences, but we always come back to baseball talk and try and find things to agree on.
Brandon from Warner Robins, yes, David is going to knock on your door and beat you up because you linked an interview with him.

Steve McP: Since Maddux had more seasons with Braves (11) than with the Cubs (10), not to mention far more wins with the Braves (194) than the Cubs (133) and three Cy Young Awards with the Braves to one with the Cubs, I don’t think there’s any question he’ll go in as a Brave.
The Hall doesn’t leave it up to the players to decide anymore, haven’t seen 2001. I think Maddux would choose the Braves anyway, but Hall won’t leave that choice to him.
When Gary Carter wanted to go in as a Met — primarily because he won his only championship with them –the Hall said no. He played a lot more seasons with Montreal, so his plaque depicts him with an Expos hat. Maddux’s will depict him with a Braves cap.
And as someone else noted, Glavine is indeed eligible same year as Maddux (2013), long as Glavine doesn’t pitch again. Seems fairly certain he’s done, so count on him and Maddux making ballot debut the same year (after 2013 season), which seems pretty cool.
Paul Lentz, it got deleted so I’ll keep it cleaner…. your 12:36 post is exactly why people think you’re a sissy little girl that grows courage behind your computer screen. Shut your garbage mind off and go to sleep. Quit writing novels on here that I bet 98% of people don’t read anyways and the other two percent are you and the blog moderator that’s trying to find a reason to delete it.

Thanks DOB I was at Wrigley last season and saw that they had retired his number, clearly he is also an icon there.

see i own a partial season ticktet package with the braves. split a seasaon with one other guy. section 105 row seven.
we have seats 1-4.

January 10th, 20101:46 am
I’m an illiterate when it comes to computers. What would it mean to register? Does that make access to a blog more difficult for objectionable bloggers or bloggers who can not refrain from vulgarity etc.?
January 10th, 20101:48 am
I’m sure this may not be the proper venue to ask this, … but when posters talk about ignoring someone, are they speaking of an actual ‘ignore’ button that i’m missing? Or are they simply talking about paging over the comments and trying to ignore?

Sign in with a username and password like you do with you email…something like that. Registration requires name, age….stuff like that. Have the IT department review the request before during registration process…then once approved, just sign in AJC website. All the hard work would be on paper’s behalf.
