No problem. I don’t think I said anthing stupid today. Although I could be wrong.

Seriously, the GMAC Bowl? I just can’t enough football. Thanks for scheduling Central Michigan and Troy for today. I thougt bowls were generally supposed to increase with importance. This is like eating bolagna before the Christmas turkey.

They sound like good-looking dogs. I like GR and German Shepherds a lot. Now, if I had something with German Shepherd in it, I’d name it Major Hochstetter, no questions asked…

JJ4NLCY No. Those commercials are annoying.

Haha! That sounds like a guy! :P

…But I totally know what you mean…

This video is much worse. It’s about how Animal Shelters kill dogs.

Lordy! Yeah, I ain’t watchin’ that!

You’ve never read Shiloh??

No. I don’t really like to read…like, at all. I like to write (to an extent…), but reading…

Not counting school-reading, I’ve prob’ly finished around 10 chapter books my whole life. Not bragging by any means, just sayin’…I’ve started plenty of books…read one twice that I know of…

McFann – You’re thinking about getting a dog? Don’t know i you’d beinterested, but I actually might have to get rid of mine (long story, but not because she’s a bad dog). She’s 1.5 years old, some kind of retriever mix (got her from the pound so we’re not sure of her exact breed), is fixed, has her shots, is fully trained, etc.

Regardless of your questionable choice of BBQ restaurants in Lexington, NC (Lexington BBQ is my other handle – I switch depending on my mood), you do a fine job. 10:45 pm

Tomahawkin……..To be honest, I think that our bench is lining up to be pretty strong this year. If Bobby Cox decides to go with only 12 pitchers instead of 13, then our bench could be even more flexible (especially if Thurston B. Howell makes the team and can contribute as the jack of all trades infielder, pinch runner, pinch hitter, etc.)

Hinske should provide much more power than Greg “couldnt hit his way out of a paper bag” Norton coming off the bench. While Norton was pretty useless in the field, at least Hinske can play 1st and the outfield if need be.

I like the move, given how cheap he came.

Also, I would like to see Bobby carry 3 catchers instead of 2. David Ross has decent pop in his bat. He should be available to either pinch hit or come in for Brian McCann if McCann needs to be pinch run for. Yet last year, he languished on the bench unused because Bobby didnt want to risk using him only to see McCann get hurt later in the game.

Braves Lifer………..I think that Tomahawkin is just disappointed that we didnt sign a slugger with some pop in his bat from the right side who can play the outfield.

Still, when the dust is settled, our bench should be an asset.

If Bobby only carries 12 pitchers…..then the 5 players on the bench should be the following: 1. David Ross, catcher. 2. Omar Infante, plays both infield and outfield. 3. Eric Hinske, 1st baseman, corner outfielder. 4. Matt Diaz, corner outfielder. 5. Thurston B. Howell, plays everywhere.

If we go with an outfield of Diaz in left, McLouth in center, and Cabrera in right……..then Diaz’s spot on the bench would go to either Micah Jones or the 3rd catcher.

However that could all change if Jason Heyward starts the year with the big club……or if Frank Wren makes another trade.

Either way, the bench should stronger this year. Let’s not forget that Omar Infante missed 2 months last year with the broken hand. I feel that he’s an important part of our bench because of his versatility.

Why is everyone penciling in Heyward, dude has 0 at bats in the bigs, he could do like Schafer & bomb. The only proven outfielder we have is McClouth,so we still need to add another proven bat, Diaz, Melky, & whoever is not gonna get it. if Hinske is the last piece, you can forget about October baseball, same as last year, cant win if we cant score Frank Wren!

Tomahawkin……….I agree, we have a number of ifs. While I would have preferred to see the Braves do things differently this off season, Frank Wren was able to make some potentially pretty shrewd moves, given what he spent.

My focus will be on how to best use what we have. If used properly by Bobby Cox (meaning that he plays the players who deserve to play)….then our team will compete because our starting pitching will keep us in the race. I made the mistake last year of counting us out after the last game of the San Francisco series after the All-Star Break.

Still, there’s a difference between competing and having a legit chance to make the play-offs. Our offense will determine the difference in 2010…….as our lack of it in critical times determined it in 2009.

P-Lentz…

Why Did Wren Throw all that money away to Hudson when he knew that L. Media was gonna go Cheap again for the second straight season? He should’ve let Hudson walk, kept Vazquez and got Jason Bay…

What a sh..tty offseason, just like last decade…!
