I would leave Romo in for one more possession and then take him out. Technically it’s still a 3 possession game (3 touchdowns, three 2 point conversions).

Anders, I gotta say I enjoy your contributions here. You sound like a straight shooter and you support your team without being nasty or vulgar about it. That is appreciated by some of us anyway.

Good luck this year except for your team finishing ahead of us. We’ll take the wild card thank you.

Joe R. I don’t know what M.Jones is making. He was signed to a minor league contract and invited to ST. He will have to win a job and if he does he will likely earn rookie pay although his contract may call for something more than that. It is possible.

Soph…….3 weeks ago, after we lost back to back games against the Giants and Chargers (and with a game in New Orleans coming up against the then undefeated Saints), I was catching a lot of heat on here. I heard post after post that basically said “the Cowboys are done”.

Well, I didnt go anywhere then…….I’m not going anywhere now.

At least Joe Johnson shook LeBron’s hand when the Hawks lost. Ugh, that still cheeses me.

Joe Johnson is used to working hard for his points though. Lebron is used to having things handed to him. One thing I can’t stand about the NBA is the blatant favoritism it has for its superstars. Players like Kobe and Lebron are good enough on their own. They don’t need any help. Lebron likes to be happy and dance when he’s winning but when they lose no fun and smiles then.

probably somewhere around 20 thou, unless they were more generous cause of his potential power. Nobody gets rich in the minors.
Most of his best years have been in hitter’s parks in hitters leagues IIRC. It will be interesting to see how well he does this spring. We could certainly use the power if he can connect often enough against mlb pitching.

I actually hope that the NFL schedules our game with the Eagles for next Saturday instead of Sunday. The short week will hopefully affect the Eagles more because they will have to fly home and then back to Dallas one day sooner, while Dallas will be able to stay at home.

It’s no guarantee for us to win next week…..however every little edge next week will help. Despite my dislike for the Eagles, I do recognize that they will probably be tougher to beat next week.

Meanwhile, the shutout is all but assured. I cant wait to hear what BS excuse that Andrew in PA will come up with, if he is man enough to grace us with his presence tonight.

I hope DOB writes a blog on his lost luggage for 2009. That would be an entertaining read.

Meanwhile, returning super bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers are eliminated from the playoffs.

Denver is about 4:00 away from being eliminated.

If Cincy beats the Jets tonight, Houston makes the playoffs for the first time in their history.

Also, even though Green Bay beat Arizona and has a better record, Arizona has a higher seed in the playoffs. Whatever.

Good Cheap Shot Bro

Fact of the matter is I’m not gonna Spend 75 bucks to go to a game only to watch us lose 2-1 by an AAA team such as the reds

The Braves handled teams like the Phillies last year in the first half when the games only had a marginal effect on the standings. The second half was a different story every big game in July and August Bobby and his crew played the games with little emotion and urgency hence the fact that we couldn’t win big games in the second half last year

Tell me why should I spend 75 bucks at Tooner Field when I can usually predict the result?

mr baseball

January 3rd, 2010
7:17 pm

The NFL needs to adopt baseball’s playoff format in which 2 teams from the same division can’t play each other in the first round of the playoffs.

The Eagles & Packers have the same record overall and within the NFC. Since there is no truly legit tiebreaker to separate them, the Eagles should play the Cardinals and the Packers should play the Cowboys.

Having a pair of rematches the following week in playoff openers is ridiculous, which is apparently what will happen.

But then, what would you expect from a league with the single most idiotic rule in all of the sports — sudden death overtime.

Not to mention the moronic fines of players who don’t toe the corporate NFL line.

Pitchers & catchers reporting can’t come soon enough.

Does Anyone on here remember the 2.5 hour rain delayed game (during Midseason and it was aired on FSN-South) that the braves were losing at home and tanked the final 2 at-bats because it was late…?

It was a home game and I think the Giants were our opponent, but after the long rain delay was over the braves played as if they wanted to go hame and fans on this blog as well as the ones who stayed for the rain delay were in uprage. That right there is plain enough reason that some fans refuse to go to the games

Tomakawkin … I tuned into the Braves versus Washington game when the Rockies had earlier clinched. I didn’t know that the Rocks had clinched. But, just watching the lackadaisical play, I deduced that neither team had anything to play for. The last four games of the season looked uninspired.

I had considered getting tickets to the last two games and traveling to Atlanta. Boy, am I glad I didn’t! Someone might want to discuss with the team that fans pay the same ticket price whether the team is in the hunt or not. I don’t mind if a team puts their 2nd string on the field. But, whoever is out there needs to play at 100% when they’re out there. They get paid an awful lot of money for their performance.

Cox didnt slip last year. He was just as awful as he has been every year since he started. He’ll turn a World Series champion into a division winner, a division winner into a wild card chaser, a wild card hopeful into a .500 team, and a .500 team into a disaster

Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz gave Cox a lot of mulligans. With less cushion these past few years, his errors are more immediately noticeable and more surely detrimental to the team, but his isnt erring any more or less frequantly than he always has

That’s how they’re able to extend the Pujols’ and sign the Holliday’s.

Ochocinco is great. I really get tired of all these uptight people who rip on him. Yes, he draws attention to himself but in an entirely different way than a T.O. does. He did have a moment there when he lost his mind about money but unlike T.O. he was reachable and once he realized what he was doing was destructive he knocked it off.

I think a guy like Ochocinco makes the game fun for his teammates and keeps them loose. Nothing wrong with a jokster on the team as long as he is serious when its time to play. And nobody can dispute Ochocinco’s abilities and his team first attitude.

Oh, and Anders or whoever asked about checking bags: Since Christmas Day attempted bombing they’re not letting you carry anything onboard plane on international flights to U.S. from Canada and several other countries, nothing allowed on plane except small purses, baby formula, laptops, coats (which you can’t have in your lap) and a few other small items like glasses and medical needs. You can carry an Ipod and some headphones or whatever in your pocket, a book or magazine, and your laptop (but not in a laptop bag), and that’s about it. Gotta check everything else. And we had flown to Canada on Christmas Day, just before the restrictions began, or else we wouldn’t have taken as many bags.

Ended up checking five bags on flight back, including a backpack and computer bag. They sent three bags to the wrong city, and you know the rest. I’ll not numb you or me anymore with the details. Suffice to say, it was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. By far. Ever.

Yeah Gatorbrave because comparing Atlanta to a city that has had its team for over 100 years, you got to know we would come up short in that comparision. St. Louis is a great baseball city and the cards really are the heart and soul of that town, similar to the way college sports is in Atlanta. Some may even argue Cards are about all there is in St. Louis. Pro sports is still lagging but its much better than what it used to be in Atlanta. It’s not attrocious like you say but it also isn’t what you get in true baseball cities. South is still largely football country. Thats just the facts.
