On different notes, not all interceptions are equally harmful, just not not all touchdowns are equally helpful, and Matt Ryan threw a LOT of harmful interceptions this past season (the two most-notable examples came in New Orleans). I expect much better things out of him in 2010.

Jason Snelling's running in Tampa Sunday was the most-impressive part of this Falcons' season; he ran over and through people and broke many tackles. THAT running was old-school.

I watched a little of FOX's pregame show, which has more cons than pros. Jimmy Johnson is obnoxious and misleading, and that Frank guy is the definition of "white trash." In response to Johnson's comments against Buddy Ryan, let's deal with facts: Johnson wasn't that good a head coach; he made one awesome trade, to his credit, but did little else. On the other hand, Ryan had very much to do with the Bears' defense, but who actually benefitted that much from Johnson's coaching? He went to Miami when they were barely a playoff team. He left four years later, and they were just the same, which says pretty much everything about Johnson. He misused Dan Marino immensely. If JJ wanted to establish to run, taking away the already-there passing game is the worst-possible first step. There's such a thing as using the pass to set up the run, and vice-versa.

I recommend Mark Bowman's articles; this blog is too music-oriented.

Johnny Damon would be a good fit; Dan Uggla would be an excellent fit. This team needs pop in the worst kind of way, and while I'm confident that Troy Glaus will hit a lot of homers for us, having two right-handed 30-plus HR guys would be excellent.

We really don't need Damon to bat leadoff, as we already have Nate McLouth, who should be healthier and therefore more effective, and Matt Diaz, who did so admirably last season.

We need Uggla to take pressure off of Chipper and McCann. If we get him, I think he has a breakout, 35-110 season, and I think we become a top-tier title contender, even without Vazquez.

No more Buddy Carlyle. Some dumb ass Japanese team signed him. One less BUM available for Bobby to be tempted to use out of the bullpen.

Best news so far for the Braves this off season.

Goldenglove002,

The syntax should go something like this:

<a href="http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blog">Link Text</a>

Yields:

<a href="http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blog" rel="nofollow">Link Text</a>

Any of you code experts want to help me out? How can I turn something into a link? say I wanted to write “Jason Heyward” and make it a link to his stats. Any help would be greatly appreciated! (GG)

there's a way to do that but I can never remember it offhand. I just drop the address into the post and say "go look here"

OK, never mind.

Start by typing the alternate for a "," on your keyboard (shift+comma. Less-than sign), followed by: <em>a href='http://www.yourlinkhere.com'</em> followed by the greater-than sign (shift+period). No spaces except for between the a and the href. Then, again with no spaces, type the text you want displayed. Finish by enclosing a /a in another set of less-than, greater-than signs.
