to quote H Ross Perot heres the deal a straight up money for money trade Derrick Lowe for the blue jays Vernon Wells upside both get a change of scenery.The blue Jays can then move Roy Hallady for a boatload of players and the Bravos get a very good outfielder who was a five tool player only a couple of years ago,A once power bat a great glove in the outfield,speed and savy to help Heyman in transition to the show.Chipper and Laroche are business partners in a middle america ranch so sign Laroche for three years with a hometown discount with a no trade and wait and see how long it takes to get Freddie freeman to the bigs.After a year or two throw in some money and trade Laroche to a team of his choice possibly for a replacement for Chipper when he gets ready to hang em up.You have money to work with from Chippers salary.I dont know how much is deferred.in 2010 you have an outfield of McClouth,Heyman and Diaz or Wells an infield of chipper,Escobar,Prado and Laroche,mcCann behind the dish plus a strong starting staff.Which of your closers do you go after Soriano or Gonzalez?Soriano can be erratic and Gonzales is injury prone maybe we dont sign either I dont see Moylan closing but as don sutton once said Medlen could be a future closer.Middle releivers are available as free agents and Non tendered.Bobby Cox goes to the Playoffs in 2010 and Ned yost becomes the 2011.Meanwhile the Blue Jays get a very good pitcher in Lowe and whatever they can in a halladay trade…….

Cool to see Heyward getting compliments for his hustle and smart baserunning in the AFL. It’s interesting because the one game I saw him play at Gwinnett this year, all he did was leg out two infield hits with hustle, steal second, and score from second on an infield single by Matt Young. Really cool to see that not only will he create and get runs in with his hitting, slugging, and walking, but will also manufacture some runs with hustle and above average speed combined with intuitive baseball smarts.
