Soph – Only 6 points (somehow) but they had allowed about 250 yards of total defense in the first half. They’ve been solid this half though. Hope this doesn’t jinx them…
Tomahawkin, I don’t agree with you… not that my opinion matters, but. The only time Cox made me mad taking out a starting pitcher this year was Hanson in Houston. Other than that, the offense is the majority of the reason why JJ/Vazquez/Hanson don’t have more wins than they do, not Bobby.
My bad, In my last post I was making reference to Bobby not letting guys not go longer when they are well below 100 pitches pitched during the game…For Example the Hanson Shutout that was F’d up in Houston, among others
I can see the Yankees or Red Sox signing Soriano next year to set up Rivera or Papelbon. They’d be the only team willing to sign a set up man $9m a year.

A great big bat is what we obviously need. Someone to put fear into the other guys and ultimatly make the other hitters better would be ideal. chipper is no longer a three hitter and McCann is not a clean up hitter. We do seem to have a plethera of #6 hitters, but maybe LaLa can hit 4 with the Big Bopper in the three hole.

I don’t think that’s fair from Sheehan. Career .350 wOBA and above .360 2 of the last three years. That’ll play in CF on any contender. I suppose he could be basing his argument on the theory that he doesn’t play defense well enough in CF to really be of value, but I don’t agree with that.
