Too bad it’s not the nation’s first state-chartered school.

But I guess only one awesome school can hold that title.

49 yards of total offense. That’s embarrassing. I’ll bet me, Lentz, and Norton could get at least 20.

cab, on Dish it’s channel 151 (VS. channel). I didn’t even know that channel existed until CB just mentioned it. I actually have it too.

DirecTV took Versus off their lineup because they wanted to charge too much money…oh well (maybe VJ will get to see it)

Wow, McClouth has been tough to watch was a Brave. I believe that is already 6 times he has been caught stealing as a Brave. When they got him he had only been caught stealing 2 times in his career. Although he has experienced some hamstring problems, it is safe to say he has been a disappointment in Atlanta.

In any case, they need at least two outfielders, even granting Heyward gets there in the summer. Nate McLouth is still a fourth OF masquerading as a starting CF.

I’m not a huge Nate McLouth fan, but I think calling him a fourth outfielder is a little harsh. I will say this though, the guy hasn’t been very good against lefties over the course of his career: .242/.317/.390 in 521 plate appearances. Another reason why we need a RH hitter, as oppose to a LH hitter.

Thanks, McFann. I had flipped channels and when I switched back, Mac was bent over and Bobby & the trainer were looking at him. I figured it was a foul ball.

I guess it’s a credit to Chipper that he’s still showing plate discipline. But if that’s me with that homer streak on the line — he needs two to become the first major leaguer ever to start his career with 15 seasons with at least 20 homers — then I’m up there hacking.

Efrim

I’d advocated moving Jurrjens, but I’m less certain of that now, because while I think there’s risk with him, there’s clearly upside. But he could bring back the kind of hitter the Braves could really use, a talent-under-control like Jurrjens.

Second writer for BP that has brought it up. I get that it would bring back what we need, and probably a young power hitter too. But I think given the age of our other starters, it just wouldn’t make sense to trade Jair. I understand that his perceived value may be higher than his actual value, but there are quite a few young pitchers like that, and because they’re still so cheap, it doesn’t make sense for their current clubs to trade them. But I get the reasoning behind it, just don’t think it’s the right scenario for this Braves team.

Awesome swing there by Mac.

You have to be worried about Chipper. He’s an out making machine these days & if the team is serious about getting to the playoffs next year & going deep in it, Chipper’s either going to have to get better or hit lower in the lineup. There’s no way I could see Bobby doing that because he’s Chipper Jones. And I don’t think he’ll be Francoeur-like enough for Cox to consider it.

Hearing Wren on the radio this afternoon does make you feel good though. He knows a power bat is a must and says he would ideally like to get a RH one that can give you 30 or more HR’s.

Boog is smart & funny with a unique style that I really loved. I understand why he’s going, sounds like an upward move! Good luck, we will miss you!! As for my fave Brave Matty D: I am so upset I won’t get to see him play when I’m at the game Sunday with my Mom & kids! I was considering making a sign & everything, something along the lines of :Hey, Matty D, you’re still OK with me!
