So I’m “0-for-4″ AGAIN…maybe I can make it “0-for-5″?? I get about 80k for the game either way..
October 2nd, 200910:00 pm
KK looked sharp there…..
October 2nd, 200910:02 pm
I agree. Oh man…that Patchorick (or however you spell his name) guy…he was…eesh.
Rathbun and Torborg weren’t very good, either, but Tom…hu boy.
Can she play left?
October 2nd, 200910:03 pm
Meadowcreek’s the Detroit Lions of Gwinnett football.
October 2nd, 200910:04 pm
That’s his name! Patro-something. Horrible! I can’t go back to that…I just can’t.
Ha. Thats funny…
Wait a minute…
October 2nd, 200910:05 pm
Dacooooola lost too. Misery loves company.
October 2nd, 200910:06 pm
Paciorek, McFann. Sweet heaven I hope it’s not him. It better not be anybody already in the system either (Gant, Chip Caray, and Lord save us if it’s Brian Jordan).
Boog and Joe was an INCREDIBLE partnership. Therefore, find someone like Boog. Young, dry, and doesn’t talk like Chip Caray, who has extra words with which to use when there’s a rule book double.
Paciorek. That’s the name. Paciorek.
Duh-Q-luh also has 2 wins.
Brian the Brain
Do you think Tony Schovinnie will get a shot? He’s been doing the games in Gwinnett and I’ve heard he’s always wanted to call baseball. That might be fun to listen to for those of us who grew up listening to him do the WCW play by play on TBS.
October 2nd, 200910:07 pm
I’d give D-Lowe away if someone took him outright. Of course, Wren will probably find a team that’s willing to give us something in return, too.
I haven’t been all that impressed with KK out of the pen. I certainly do not envision him as a viable closer for next season as a few on here have suggested. From what I’ve heard from a friend, he is not all that happy as a reliever anyway.
Still lots to do over the winter for this team.
Looks like I might have been correct when I posted about just how hard they would be hit after that first loss. Hope they can pick it up and win a couple B4 it’s over this weekend.
Oh good job, Soph. Where’d you see that?
Joe Mauer is a god…
I was so happy when Rathbun went away. Of course, now he does Hawks games full-time so I still have to listen to him but he’s not as bad at basketball.
October 2nd, 200910:08 pm
Hey, I typed that out before I saw your post. Check the time stamp. So, jinx! You owe me a soda. Cherry Coke, please.
October 2nd, 200910:09 pm
You’re exactly right about Rathbun. He was terrrrible calling the Braves. But I don’t mind him when he does basketball.
Paciorek used to talk to the ball. “Get in there!” “Go ball go!”
Ghettocreek won games…
Like 8 years ago when I was there.
October 2nd, 200910:10 pm
This is why Football is more popular than Baseball!!!
October 2nd, 200910:11 pm
Paciorek also used to yell “Ow” if the ball was hit of the handle of the bat.
Has anyone noticed that since Biggio, Galarraga, Bagwell, Bonds, among others has left the game…No one uses the forcefield padding on their elbows and knees now…?
I remember in the early 90’s batters used the mini shinguard often… That has disappeared too. Did Mlb do some type of regulation of that over the last 3 years…?
October 2nd, 200910:12 pm
Here’s a scenario:
Joe Simpson decides to pursue a career in the PGA. Fox SS announces that the new broadcasters will be Chip Caray and Brian Jordan. Which team will you pull for now?
I’m gonna go with the O’s. That Wieters is gonna be something special.
October 2nd, 200910:13 pm
Haaaaa! I remember that – he had some very annoying habits.
I missed most of the game…has Norton already hit?
October 2nd, 200910:14 pm
Right – because there are never stoppages of play and commercials during football games…
No, KJ did! Yeah-uh!
I still will go with the Braves, I’ll just watch the away teams broadcast…
Or the Twins!
Brandon from Warner Robins
October 2nd, 200910:15 pm
You missed KJ’s at bat? Awww. You were the first person I thought of when I saw him at the plate.
October 2nd, 200910:16 pm
I’ll be honest, I never watch Football, In fact I hate it, so I wouldn’t know…
But I assume they don’t have pitching changes
I don’t know about your William and Mary games, but I’ve been to many a UGA game when you just sit there and watch the teams huddle for about 5 minutes while CBS takes another commercial break.
That seriously had a huge impact during those hot day games. By the 4th quarter, you’re worn out.
Was it a clean hit, or did the third baseman slip on a banana peel or something?
I really hate it when the NFL games go to commercials after kickoffs! I mean, For Real? they seriously have to do that…?
October 2nd, 200910:17 pm
Bring On Easy-E!
KJ had a clean hit.
October 2nd, 200910:18 pm
October 2nd, 200910:19 pm
Does Anyone Remember Elijah Dukes Killing the braves early this season?
I remember because everyone wanted us to trade for him because he could’ve been acquired on the cheap side
October 2nd, 200910:20 pm
I think the SS scoreboard guy is seriously high!
Wow, some fans here just broke into “Georgia Bulldogs” chants. I have no idea what to think about that one.
I just ranted to VJ about the exact same thing…drives me crazy
October 2nd, 200910:21 pm
well, it’s better than chanting “boring” i guess
October 2nd, 200910:22 pm
jeffrey d – the nice thing about not being on TV – William and Mary games were usually done in about 2:45…
Tomahawkin – absolutely!
Big Georgia game tomorrow, Carroll!
We did the Tomahawk Chop at Sanford Stadium once. It’s only fair.
October 2nd, 200910:23 pm
There is a movie called “2012.”
How sick is that??
Boog does a better job calling games when he isn’t having to pimp tickets/be a homer. He’s perfect for national baseball coverage, even if it is on the radio. Good luck to you, Boog.
October 2nd, 2009
Bobby is saving him ….we may go to extras and need an out.
Our fans can be such dorks.
October 2nd, 200910:24 pm
Well folks, I usually don’t comment much. I’m more of a lurker than anything. And since I have a bunch of different engagements this weekend, I probably won’t comment or read much. But I wanted to tell DOB and Carroll that I’ve enjoyed the blog this season. I wish both of you the best during the off season and I hope that the two of you avoid all of the cuts that’s hit your industry.
To all of the commenters I hope you all have a wonderful fall and winter and I look forward to all of gathering again when the boys meet in Orlando.
Till then God Bless and Stay Safe!
Okay cavemen, we get it. You’re insulted. Let’s move on.
And can 3 Doors Down write a song that doesn’t sound exactly like every other one they’ve written?
Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Georgia Bulldogs!
October 2nd, 200910:25 pm
Soph, jeffrey d–
Yeah, they can’t go back to Paciorek.
It’s about the predictions that the world will end in December 2012, I assume.
Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Dawgs! Sic ‘em! Woof, woof, woof!
October 2nd, 200910:26 pm
You sure that wasn’t when FSU was playing Tech?
Child Support Agencies from nine different states would go on Emergency Alert Status if Elijay Dukes employer changed.
Can I throw in a belated Marteeeeeeeeeen since he’s 3 for 4 and I missed it? Thank you.
GLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORY GLOOOOOORY to Ol’ Georgia!!!!
October 2nd, 200910:27 pm
uhhh, what else do we have
4 for 5? More e’s then.
October 2nd, 200910:28 pm
jeffrey d – and, thanks for reminding me about the W&M game tomorrow – I will be teaching for half of it, so I was able to remind “a friend” to send me updates while I’m teaching… (#4 Villanova vs. #5 W&M)
Wow, Mac and McLouth are really struggling. Despite missing out on the playoffs, I was hoping for a strong finish. Taking 3 of 4 from the Nats and a strong performance from Lowe. Not so, I guess. Oh well.
Still lots to do over the winter for this team.
nolie, do you really think so? I am actually not as optimistic as some others here are, but I do think that there is a good group here that can contend next year. I suppose there are quite a few decisions that need to be made: Soriano and Gonzo, and if they aren’t brought back, who is brought in? Also, a power bat, potentially in left field. First base – do they bring back Laroche? Less work to do than last year, although last offseason, I think most fans were just hoping for a respectable season. Next year expectations are playoffs or bust, it seems.
Yep. Pretty much. So before you “die,” you can pay $15 to go see how you’ll go!
No, it’s too late for previous “MARTEEENS” You can do one for that hit, though.
Has the scoreboard on the screen always been this huge?
October 2nd, 200910:30 pm
It’s never too late for Marteeeeeens. Don’t hate.
You wish Kelly had something cool like that.
ARE YOU HAVING FUN CHIPPER????
October 2nd, 200910:31 pm
Geeze…the first 6 guys in the lineup not named Marteen are 1 for 16. Nice work, guys.
If the world ends on December 21, 2012, at least the Braves won’t be able to make us mad anymore.
(Ya gotta think positive.)
Yunel's Frosted Tips
Boog told me that he’s leaving because he can’t take another season of Bobby Cox’ insane managing, was going to stay if Cox was dismissed.
October 2nd, 200910:32 pm
Macdougal faces 3 lefties and the righty gets a hit!
If you’re down-wind of those Georgia Bulldog chants, you should be getting drunk from the fallout.
I said it last night but I’ll say it again. When we go down we really nose dive don’t we? 2 in a row to the Nats.
I can’t take any Brian Jordan tonight. I’m changing to George Lopez.
October 2nd, 200910:33 pm
I think the Georgia Bulldog pregame show starts in 15 minutes.
It’ll probably be Bobby’s fault the world ends then. He’ll have Jeff Bennett pitch to Greg Norton and the universe will explode.
October 2nd, 200910:34 pm
Are You White or Black…Because it seems like you only know my jive/lingo/slang/etc… and what they mean…?
Out of curiousity…?
He’ll have Jeff Bennett pitch to Greg Norton and the universe will explode.
sorry darling – I figured it was obvious
October 2nd, 200910:35 pm
And she went to Meadowcreek
are we losing again?
October 2nd, 200910:36 pm
Tailgating started last night.
Bill from Ohio
Lowe was a bust and we payed way to much for him. We should have got the power bat and left Lowe out to hang like he did us fans
October 2nd, 200910:37 pm
We lost 6 – 3
October 2nd, 200910:38 pm
October 2nd, 200910:39 pm
I see UGA beating LSU tomorrow, because LSU is way overrated.
If only Bill from Ohio could travel back in time and offer his infinite wisdom to Frank Wren back in January.
October 2nd, 200910:40 pm
Oh, T’Hawkin. It has nothing to do with black or white. I went to Meadowcreek after all.
October 2nd, 200910:41 pm
I too will miss Boog, I think he brought a different take than that of any announcer we’ve had previously. Then again I’d love to here Ernie do one more game.
I sure hope the Braves don’t wus out the next two games because it appears the Marlins are going to continue to play hard. The effort and focus is not what it should have been for the Braves even though they were eliminated from the playoffs. Losing these last games just sends the wrong signal to the team and to the fans.
I think the lack of leadership has become even more evident this last week. How Wren addresses that, if he does at all, will be very interesting to see over the Winter.
Lowndes County lost tonight.
October 2nd, 200910:45 pm
Isn’t Lowndes supposed to be really, really good?
October 2nd, 200910:46 pm
LOL at your Schiavone suggestion, Brian the Brain. I can envision it now…
“Tonight Derek Lowe will go up against the Nationals’ Shairon Martis! THIS WILL BE THE GREATEST NIGHT IN THE HISTORY OF OUR SPORT!”
“Greg Norton is coming in to pinch hit! THIS IS THE GREATEST NIGHT IN THE HISTORY OF OUR SPORT!”
Yes, Lowndes is recognized nationally. My old roomate went there….he’s gonna be maaaaad
#1 in the state.
UGA is going to get popped in the mouth tomorrow by the Tigers, UGA should have lost to the Sun Devils.
October 2nd, 200910:47 pm
They’re the anti-Meadowcreek.
I hate that Houston County has to play in Region 1-5A.
October 2nd, 200910:48 pm
October 2nd, 200910:49 pm
I think we’re all upset about that, Brandon.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
