keep running tie game with Prado ahead in the count. What was Diaz thinking? What a way to lose the game and basically end our playoff run!

Not to beat a dead horse but that is baseball karma when you ignore children seeking autographs and you treat fans as rudely as the Braves did when I was in town this year.

Braves still need to finish strong to help this run carry into next year. We have the rotation for the playoffs. Signing LaRoche and finding a power bat for LF with possible Heyward in RF we will have the lineup to back up our starters

I’m not going to knock Matt Diaz so much as I’m going to knock the WHOLE BRAVES TEAM when it comes to “knowing how to run the bases”. It’s like a freaking virus that the whole freaking team got this year.

Simply put, that blunder right there is the reason why we are not going to make the playoffs. Not because of that single play……..but because of our inability to run the bases with any intelligence.

I remember last month when Chipper Jones was at third, and Brian McCann at second…..Chipper was in a run down between third and home……Chipper was trying to give McCann enough time to go to third………yet McCann goes back to second, lol.

I’ve never seen a Braves team that made as many blunders running the bases as the 2009 Braves. Yet according to some on here, it’s not the manager’s job to “teach fundamentals or even go over them in practice”. I guess that the only job of a manager is to “stay positive and calm”, lol. If that is the case, Tony Robbins should get into managing, lol.

Next year will be interesting. Need a LEGIT bat in this order keep the staff together and things will be good. Glad this happened tonight instead of say … MONDAY night vs. the Rockies in the play in game with everything on the line or postseason for that matter.

Maybe in Spring Training, if it isnt too much to ask, perhaps Bobby Cox will take a day or two to teach these guys how to run the freaking bases. Freaking mental mistakes. UN FREAKING BELIEVEABLE. I “know” that it isnt his job to teach fundamentals to Major League players (according to some on here)……however, something has to be done. Either the Braves get rid of all the players who cant run the bases correctly (which isnt going to happen)…….or the Braves just accept that these guys will never learn to run the bases correctly and try and win despite base running blunders (this year shows that it wont work)……..or Bobby does his FREAKING JOB (in my opinion) and teach these guys how to run the bases like Major League players (and in the process, give us a better chance to make the playoffs next year).

It always comes down to fundamentals. Always.

This team has lacked them in the most crucial spots ever since the winning began in 1991. How can the cast of characters change and the results always end up the same?? How?

Once again, the Braves’ hopes for “glory” (kinda hard to take that word seriously after this game) are dashed because they look like deer in the headlights whenever the game’s on the line.

There is a constant in all of this, I can’t quite put my finger on it……..maybe some of you more experienced bloggers trained in the art of Braves bashing can help me out.

Sometimes I think Braves fans are meant to suffer. How can a game end that way? We have had every type of heartbreak, but this is new low.

I’m just glad we won one World Series. How did we manage to do that? This team has never had any luck in the postseason (Hrbek wrestling Gant, Maldonado catching that ball in 9th inning in 92, double play Belliard didn’t turn in 8th inning of game 4 in 96, Eric Gregg’s personal strike zone, playing the hot team (Cubs, then Astros in 00’s).

We have to improve next year. We’ll win 88 -90 but really aren’t that good. I hope front office is proactive and makes moves we need.
