Is this the same Bobby Abreu that the Braves could have pursued for LF, instead of Loafy? I dont think its worth getting him now. 1 year too late

Sorry guys…but I am beginning not to believe. The offense has been terrible this series and the Marlins have been hitting our pitching. JJ worked out of it the first game, and we were lucky we won. Now with the last game (and probably hope) in Javy hands, he has done what he has done all year…get hit by Marlins pitching. Sorry to see it fall apart as soon as we get home.

Looks like the Marlins can add us to their list of playoff spoiling.

“We can win without him. I ain’t mad at the guy, he’s at the end of his career. That’s why if nothing else he shouldn’t be batting third.”

In the last seven games before last night’s, Jones had hit .308/.438/.615 with 6 RBIs.

Yeah, sounds like he’s through to me.

(And if you whine about “AAA teams”, name me the Brave(s) who did as well or better during that stretch.)

Mitchell (September 29th, 2009 10:38 pm): “This line-up is ineffective. Lead-off hitter isn’t hitting. Number 3 hitter isn’t hitting. Homerun hitter, batting 7th. . . . But hell, he’s not hitting either. Bobby Cox is clueless.”

Aside from the previous notes that this line-up has won — what? — 15 of the last 18 games? Aan aside from the fact that this line-up scored four runs last night.

McLouth’s OPB for Sep is .385, and he’s the Braves’ best SB threat. That’s what you want from a lead-off hitter — getting on base and making things happen with his speed.

In the last seven games before last night’s, Jones has hit .308/.438/.615 with 6 RBIs. Name me the Brave who has done as well or better during that stretch.

Pathetice performance again by the Braves AWFense so far…

It takes talent to co..cktease fans like this over and over again for the coarse of the season…

It’s a cycle, the braves get on a streak which yields to the fans supporting them, then they lay an egg during the most important series of the season. It happened against Philly during the second half and now that the pressure is on the braves are falling flat again…

I’m just glad that I didn’t get suckered into the “Braves Fever” hype over the last week only because they won games against AAA teams which they forgot to do during the first half…

Started the season 5-1, promptly swept by the Fish.

Beginning of this month – Braves take first 2 of a 4 game series with the Marlins, then drop next 2 and get swept by the Reds in the next series.

And now, perhaps about to lose 2 of 3 to the Fish…
