Off to home. See you guys later tonight!
Thanks, I am not invited to the mate’s house as his born again missus cannot get her head around us protestant Aussie party boys… any good hotels in Buckhead ?
September 29th, 20094:57 pm
If you ask me…I think your dreaming…there’s no way Atlanta wins everygame they have left and Colorado loses two.
It ain’t gunna happen
That’s fine if it doesn’t. We’re one of a handful of teams still making noise in the last week of the season. I’ve enjoyed the heck out of this one. From Loaf to MFIKY to the Frenchy and KJ Chronicles to Tommy Hanson and Vazquez and JJ and the surprising Diaz and Prado and everything in between. Even if they lose every one of the remaining games this has been fun and the future looks bright.

Anders-What you don’t seem to realize is that if we keep Hudson and trade Kawakami or keep Kawakami and let Hudson walk, we will still have the best starting rotation in the NL and probably in all of MLB next year.
Should the Mets sign Hudson they will still have a pretty substandard rotation with two pitchers coming off of a serious enough injury to shut them down for months of 2009.
Nova Scotia Steve - Fight Like A Brave
Mixxo I have a chub the last 7 days and counting…
September 29th, 20095:00 pm
We get to the post season and we are going to the World Series.
We have the best 1-5 SP in mlb and best all round 1-3 closers…. NL is scared of us… they are not afraid of the Dodgies, filthies or disgusting LaRussians
Forgive me if this is common knowledge, or I just have terrible timing, but where is DOB? Carroll has been “filling in” for him for what seems like the better part of 3 months now. Anyone? anyone? Bueller?
September 29th, 20095:01 pm
doggsbrekky hit me up on hotmail.com I’ll try and help you out without clogging the blog
September 29th, 20095:03 pm
BBFCFM – Dobi got arrested for stealing some dude’s old Ferrari in Chicago
DOB just came of a 6 game road trip…So I think he could use a couple days off
September 29th, 20095:04 pm

Where did I say differently about the Braves? I was saying that I’d like to have Hudson if he’s healthy. I then gave an argument as to how I think it could happen. Why do you always have to knock the Mets to make a point?
I haven’t compared pitching staffs all day or said one negative comment about the Braves staff. Why would I? I can acknowledge a strength in others. Something lost to some on here. Know what I mean?
September 29th, 20095:12 pm
Your 4:51…couldn’t have said it better myself other than to add this:
Once a Brave, ALWAYS a Brave!
Go out and kick some *ss tonight guys!
I hate it when DOB is off. Would have preferred that he would have made it thru the last week.
I figured he was shopping in some hole-in-the-wall record store and missed his flight home.
Nova Scotia Steve – Fight Like A Brave –
I hear ya brudda! This stuff is very “91-like” after that rough first-half. We may see some more special stuff during this stretch…..who knows? Our first granny of the year maybe, late-game heroics, etc.
September 29th, 20095:13 pm
I got what you were intending about Huddy.
Be careful with Lew. He IS the most Interesting Man in the World…
I think he was just trying to have an awkward moment to see what it felt like
WHO IS JERRY MANUEL…YOU TALKING ABOUT THE METS MANAGER…IS ANOTHER “MORON”…LIKE YOUR “MANAGER”..IF YOU WANT TO CAll HIM A MANAGER????????
September 29th, 20095:15 pm
Our record when Carroll authors the blog is significantly better than DOB’s.
September 29th, 20095:17 pm
LIKE YOUR “MANAGER”..IF YOU WANT TO CAll HIM A MANAGER???????? (Tomy)
all managers are morons, it’s a fact of baseball life. any fan here could step in and do a better job. go to any other team’s board and you will learn the same thing. We need robot managers to complement the robot strike callers.
Tomy (Who spells Tomy like that anyways?)-
Serious bro, quit with all the yelling. Not only is it very old already, but you’re just makin yourself look like a complete idiot!
If you want something to yell about, Greg Norton is behind door 1, Manny Acosta behind door 2, and just if you want to hash up the past, Jeff Bennett is still there behind door 3, fist hole and all
September 29th, 20095:18 pm
Our record when Carroll authors the blog is significantly better than DOB’s. (Mixxo)

P-TOWNBRAVE…WE…MEAN TO MANY PEOPLE…JUST SAY..I…SOUND BETTER!!!
On the Barmes catch …
That was such a dramatic, dynamic, heart-breaking moment, that people tend to forget that the first out of the inning was a blown call at first base.
So, it looks like all three outs recorded in the ninth by the Rockies were not really outs. I know you cannot give teams extra outs, but, take away all three outs in an inning. Mighty tough to score.
Dies Israe – Carroll is a winner, we win when she blogs
Statistics is only valid for the past. Shouldn’t be used to predict the future. So wish the Braves a good luck and enjoy the game !!!!
September 29th, 20095:22 pm
NOLIE…YOU’RE LIVING WITH THE STAR WORLD PEOPLE…WAKE UP!!!
Enough with the hate for Norton, let us all let it go… love, love love…. all you need is love
Norton has had but 1.5% of our ABs this season… who really cares
think love bros. its all good
September 29th, 20095:23 pm
Somebody needs to check on McFann & Soph…..see if they’re still breathing. The excitement was getting a bit much for ‘em earlier.
September 29th, 20095:24 pm
I say the crowd is bigger tonight…and hopefully loud as f*&K…
Do you know who is going to be providing the play-by-play from the ballpark today?
anyone going sunday? I am.
Maybe the Marlins plan to play spoiler by passing Johnson’s swine flu bug on to the Braves. Watch out if he licks his fingers before grippng the ball…
September 29th, 20095:25 pm
If the Mets sign Francoeur to a long term contract, God help them. It’s amazing how Frenchy has turned it on for the Mets. Did anyone see that over the wall catch he made against the Marlins? Where was that in Atlanta?
September 29th, 20095:26 pm
Boog and Joe doin the game…
September 29th, 20095:27 pm
I worked hard to 2 hrs…seriously…
I had to…I can’t get a God damn thing done today….
We win and Rockies lose tonight…I’m gettin BAGONGED tonight….
Hell I may regardless of the outcome.
P-TOWNBRAVE,,,IS NOT TOMMY,,,FROM THOMAS(TOMMY)…IS TOMY FROM THE GREEK NAME “TEMISTOCLES”…HOPE YOU CAN PRONOUNCE CORRECTLY…HOPE!!!
For the love of God, could somebody tell some of these people to freakin stand up though?!
September 29th, 20095:28 pm
Did anyone see that over the wall catch he made against the Marlins? Where was that in Atlanta? (abwright)
He was to tired from hanging with his high school buddies to make thsoe types of plays. Part of the home town discount thing.
September 29th, 20095:29 pm
dogsbrekky, the hotel across from the Ted is already booked for Sat night, I didnt check for other nights
Honestly there testicles, I could really care less if I could pronounce your name correctly.
At this point I’m sure I can speak for at least 95% of the blog and tell you to head over to ESPN or somewhere else with your negative attitude because we sure as heck don’t want it around here!
September 29th, 20095:30 pm
DAP… your 2:08 blog clarifies the budget. Thanks, man.
Mixxo, I can’t contain my excitement! I’ve been hopping around the whole day – passed out believe signs to my co-workers and everything.
I can’t sit still so I’m going home now.
September 29th, 20095:31 pm
I don’t know if this has been discussed elsewhere, but …
Does it seem to anyone that the Braves have been a lot more loose and relaxed since the decision about Bobby’s return was announced? It’s almost as if the resolution of his future let the guys focus, or relax, or something.
September 29th, 20095:32 pm
I hear ya !!!!!!!
I’m gonna start dinner…..to calm down some.
Have a gr8 night y’all, gotta go for din dins now
Worried about tonight...
Don’t most people say that pitchers throw better while sick/after being sick because they just let it fly without worrying too much?
I remember when Huddy was sick and he threw a great game. It didn’t catch up with him till the next start and he got rocked. Said he was shot from being sick. Hopefully, Johnson will be drained.
Anyone else notice that Carroll seems to be hiding? Think maybe she’s real nervous about tonight and doesn’t want anyone to know? Kind of got that impression from reading today’s blog too. MMMMM
September 29th, 20095:33 pm
I know P-town…I know brother…
It’s embarassing…we’re getting national coverage again these days…and reading the attendance – which is part of every sports organizations game recap from last night game – SUCKS.
What ever happened to those days when the Chop chant would send chills through your body…I miss em…
And you all know/remember that feeling
Nova Scotia Steve,
I’m pretty certain I know what you mean when you say you are getting “BAGONGED tonight”, and it sounds brilliant…regardless of the outcome.
September 29th, 20095:34 pm
Anders-Reflex action? Instinctive behavior? Because I can?
I think Carroll is really just letting us enjoy this…
September 29th, 20095:36 pm
Carroll is a winner, we win when she blogs Dog
oh yeah, she really has a lot to do with that. like nolie kiddingly said- but it’s true. pure chance. Also she is not as interesting to read as DOB who is a better, edgier writer who has much more insight and connections with the team. boring feel-good mushiness is not my idea of journalism.Thought you Aussie dudes were real men?
I have a report and other homework due in the morning, so I’ll be in the library pretty much all night. Anyone know where I could watch the game on my computer?
September 29th, 20095:38 pm
Norton has had but 1.5% of our ABs this season… who really cares (dogsbrekky)
But they came in 85% of the crucial situations
STAR WORLD PEOPLE (Tomy)
not sure what star world people are, but you seemed to be dissing managers so what’s the problem?
Lew…I’m going with the Reflex…not that ‘because you can’ isn’t likely.
September 29th, 20095:39 pm
Lew – You are what you are. I’m cool with it.
September 29th, 20095:41 pm
We’ll see how well we’re enjoying this at about 11 ET (or shortly thereafter)
I hope to be celebrating some more and making that other team out west a lot more nervous!
But they came in 85% of the crucial situations (worried)
what a crock
Eric from MO
September 29th, 20095:43 pm
So lets me get this straight…Norton has at most one bat per game and yet he has 85% of the team’s crucial at-bats. So that would mean almost every game the Braves have only one crucial at-bat???
September 29th, 20095:44 pm
Poor Anders. All the grief we Braves fans on this blog listened to from the Mets’ Lunatic Fringe over the past three years and Anders is the only one left standing-here to suffer on their behalf. Should make you feel positively Messianic.
Brandon from Warner Robins
September 29th, 20095:45 pm
For those who wish to calm down, how about interpreting a poem for me? so that i can join in the excitement/enthusiasm of Braves baseball!
September 29th, 20095:46 pm
pumpkin ale beer and a braves game on tap for tonight….doesn’t get much better given the situation.
September 29th, 20095:48 pm
Brandon, you going to make it to any games this weekend
September 29th, 20095:49 pm
Lew- I’m not suffering. Wouldn’t be here if I was. I’m looking forward to next year and the hope that the Mets are healthy and back in the hunt. Lot’s to do to get there but that’s what makes the off season’s fun.
Hey, my boys were right there the last three years -I can’t complain.
September 29th, 20095:50 pm
GTSteve Im gonna try. Im thinking tomorrow night!
September 29th, 20095:51 pm
i am thinking about going tonight, and grab one of those 5 dollar tickets and a couple of 8 dollar beers…
i’m in Macon, let me know I might ride with you tomorrow too
ha ha. doesn’t take much to get this group fired up!
by the attitude on the blog this year, you would think Frenchy had 99% of the critical at bats so I don’t want to hear it.
September 29th, 20095:54 pm
GTSteve i should know whether or not im going by later on tonight.I got an job interview tomorrow afternoon so im not sure yet. Gotta make the money to pay tuition and bills… But if your around i’ll let ya know.
passed out believe signs to my co-workers and everything Soph
MFIKY Believe signs, or regular Believe signs?
cool, good luck with the interview
September 29th, 20095:56 pm
do it up and make some noise.
September 29th, 20095:58 pm
I am watching Path to the pennant on MLB network, i see the celebrations of the angles and yanks, i want that. PLEASE BRAVES.
September 29th, 20096:01 pm
Hudson this is you time to shine
September 29th, 20096:02 pm
We win tonight and the Rockies lose, then you know they will be filling the pressure because they know that the Braves will be doing to them what they did to whoever it was 2 years ago. In sports once you lose Ole Mo, its hard to get him back. Once you begin playing not to lose instead of playing to win, it’s over!
Here I am! Still breathing! My sister and I were playin’ some B-ball out back–between the two of us, we smacked 7 homers (coulda been 8 if I would’ve agreed that one of mine was not foul… ). Yeah, let off some serious energy–we beat the Marlins like, 27-0…I think. Lost track of the score at some point…
Little over an hour till the game starts.
September 29th, 20096:05 pm
Lets get a W
Braves fan in Wyoming
I’m in the middle of Rockies nation. Everyone I talk to is all of the sudden a huge Rockies fan, but most probably can’t tell you who plays 3rd for them. For those of you in the Atlanta area, please go to the damn game and help get the Bravos a win. I know I’ll be pulling for them from Wyoming and here’s hoping the Brew Crew rake tonight. GO BRAVES!!!
Anyone talking about this? Colorado should have lost Sunday! Bad break for the Braves!
September 29th, 20096:08 pm
PLEASE GET PEOPLE TO THE BRAVES GAME
The Rockies are no Mt. Everest. They can be conquered.
September 29th, 20096:10 pm
hope astros seep phils and marlins sweep phils, lets take this division
September 29th, 20096:12 pm
Yeah, I saw that! Can’t believe it! The Braves even have “bad luck” in games they’re not playing!
“I’d like to have them look up on the scoreboard and see that we’ve already won,” Jones said. “It might put a little more pressure on an already pressurized situation during the course of their game. We can go out and play free and easy. Nobody expected us to be doing what we’re doing. The odds are still stacked against us but when you have the confidence that this club has right now, we believe we’re going to go out and win every game.”
I’m glad they’re playing loose because I sure as hell ain’t watching loose. My fingernails are gone.
September 29th, 20096:13 pm
September 29th, 20096:16 pm
All these new fans on here seem to have trouble spelling.
September 29th, 20096:17 pm
The Braves always have bad luck. That’s why they’ve won 15 of 17 coming into tonight’s game. It sucks to be that unlucky, folks. I really think there should be an investigation. Obama should start doing his job and find out why we keep getting cheated!
September 29th, 20096:18 pm
I have tickets for Thursday. This year I think I’ve watched about 110 games on TV and gone to 6 in person. By far records for both. I LOVE this year’s team just because the pitching staff is so awesome every single game.
The Twins and Braves have played just well enough this season to make it hurt for their respective fan bases if they do not play baseball deep into October.
read our take on the playoff race at:
September 29th, 20096:20 pm
I refuse to read an article from a website called “a casual fan”.
September 29th, 20096:22 pm
PTI on ESPN is fixing to talk Braves… who’d have thought it?
I was just making a joke about all those calls that didn’t go the Braves way this year…
September 29th, 20096:26 pm
hurry up 7:10!!!!
September 29th, 20096:30 pm
September 29th, 20096:31 pm
What is this Hudson to Mets crap? Hudson has publicly stated (and more than once), that he wants to work out a deal with the Braves and is willing to give a hometown discount to do so. Braves have already stated that they intend to bring Hudson back, so I don’t know where some people are getting this Hudson to the Mets crap, because it isn’t going to happen. Even if it did, our rotation is still set for 09.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
