Even though the season is over, im proud of this team (minus Chipper). I didn\’t think they would be 15 games over .500. Next season, we will dominate…if Wren knows what hes doin. Go Braves in 2010!
I’m still proud of this team, regardless if they get to the postseason. If Colorado wins their game then I’ll have my doubts about our chances, but I’ve said that before.
rockies are not going 2-3 after tonights win…. and there is no way in hell we win out. its done. this season was a true improvement compared to last year but if you go back and look at where it all went 0wrong, its obvious….bobby. i could count as many as 10 games that we lost but could have won if we had an average manager…
I never thought i would say this but, CHIPPER JONES COST US THE POSTSEASON
Yeah I can’t believe he gave up those 5 runs. He’s the worst pitcher in the world. And those 10 men he let Mac, Roachy, and Yunel leave on base? God. Retire tonight please.
dont be blaming kawakami, dont forget he has hardly pitched lately and hudson is the one that sucked tonight. dont forget that folks. If not for diaz big hit this is an easy win for marlins. he was only one that did anything
Hudson was the culprit tonight. But like I said earlier, real tough to continue to get great starting pitching. Sometimes the O has to bail em out. Thought it might happen after the Diaz homer, but alas, it was not to be.
However, I still think we have a chance. Even though we’ve lost momentum, we have Vazquez going tomorrow, which is very good, and a sweep of the Nationals is still a real possibility. Have to hope that the Rockies stumble and go 2-3, at best, the rest of the way, which is also a real possibility.
Oh, shut up. The ball was hit right to Uggla and Prado wasn’t even halfway to the base when Uggla stepped on it. You want Prado to take a throw between the eyes and then get called for interference?
I did actually tear up my “Believe” print out that I was going to bring with me to a game later this week. I think it was after Yunel hit the ball right back to the pitcher with two outs.
Everbody on here blaming Chipper are a bunch of DBs (douchebags) If you want to blame a player blame Mclouth. The difference in the game is the Marlins #1 hitter and the Braves #1 hitter YOU NEED LOOK NO FURTHER.
I think I can say with 90% certainty that old chipper would have hit a walkoff in that spot.
I don’t know if Chipper can hit any better next year, time may have finally caught up with him. I think Chipper will be following Bobby out retirements door after next year.
Well, the pitching wasn’t perfect so according to most they sucked. Braves hitting with RISP is what did them in. Outside of Diaz no one else got the hit. They could still be 2 out, games not over in the Rockies. Bounce back tomorrow. Play the schedule out and see where you finish.
All you idiot morons blaming Kawakami for this loss deserve to be kicked in the face with steel toed boots, HARD!!!! You obviously know nothing about the game and you werent watching the first 5 innings when you boy, your white boy, Hudson, gave up 4 runs, one of the runs coming off the damn pitcher!!!! SO I advise you to STFU before you make yourselves look even more redundant and retarded.
So Kawakami gives up 1 run and he’s the villian, but Hudson gives up 4 runs in 5 innings and everything’s a-okay? You know Hudson’s making $14.5 million this season, right?
Also, I for one am very disappointed that such blatant racism is allowed to be posted here by the same people again and again. Shame on you, DOB and Carroll.
You freakin people are unbelievable, the Braves have been playing their butts off to get back in the race, and you’re simply not going to win every game. And yes even though it’s probably over if the Rockies win tonight, they’ve at least made a nice run.
I have to admit that I am surprised by this loss. I really expected another miracle and after Matty’s HR didn’t think there was any way this team was going to lose. Have to win out now for sure.

Because of the circumstances mentioned above…..it made this loss a bit harder to take.
Now a comment about McCann. He’s good. I like him a lot. He’s a valuable piece who contributes in lots of ways. But…. the bottom line is this ain’t the guy you want at the plate with the game on the line. He will contribute plenty of times to the offense and put you in position to win. Hey, if he drives in 3 and you win that’s great! Just don’t expect him to drive in those 3 in the 7th, 8th or 9th when it’s on his shoulders to make it happen or you lose. Basically all you are gonna see from Mac in those situations is him slamming his bat into the ground after he pops up. I want him on my team, I just don’t want him in the batters box with the game on the line.

Mitchell, the team is 15-3 over the last 18, and have the best record in the NL since june 28th….”clueless” that’s ironic.
A-ville, we just lost. By one run. Against a third place team. Leaving 9 runners on base.
When does he ever get held accountable by you people? We’ve had overpowering pitching the last week and a half and played two of the worst teams in baseball. Notice the three losses were at home in close games against talented teams. You have to at least understand why some of us would point the finger at him. I hope.
Thank YOU. I’m tired of seeing people blame attendance. Like I said before, we’re not going to sell out the Ted this week so people need to get over it. Atlanta is full of out of towners/transplants that moved here for work, etc. They’ll show up for the Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, and Mets but that’s about it.
Marlins are a tough team, Josh Johnson is very tough, and they can hit. Their bulpen after Sanchez was outstanding. Coghlan really hurt this team today.
And Hudson wasn’t that terrible. He allowed a homer to someone who has what….32 this season? It happens, people. We’re not the only team in MLB that wants to win games.
LOL the braves are telling the media that there were 29K at the game they are luck if there was 17K. PATHETIC for the lie and PATHETIC for Atlantas fan showing.
It’s amazing how one bad inning within the last couple of weeks brings out all of the “Idiots”. KK has a bad inning and he is called a “Jap”. Chipper has a bad year, but not one “Idiot” calls him a “white trash” or “cracker”. I am so glad that my taxes are being used to educate you Idiots!
You had to know we would get beat by the Marlins the day Johnson pitched. I mean, look at the starters we beat during that 7 game winning streak.
Misch
Figueroa
Pelfrey
Lannan
Mock
ALmost got beat by Livan, but we beat the bullpen in extras
Sanchez
Just makes sense that they lose to the other teams ace. Thats all the Braves have done over the past 7 games was face the other teams scrap pitchers, the ones that shouldnt even be pitching.
New Generation – They come out before KK pitches. They come out after he pitches well. They’re going to be around regardless. I just wish people would quit biting their bate.

I can’t believe people actually think Bobby Cox deserves the manager of the year award.
This line-up is ineffective. Lead-off hitter isn’t hitting. Number 3 hitter isn’t hitting. Homerun hitter, batting 7th.
But hell, he’s not hitting either. Bobby Cox is clueless. Loyalty doesn’t hit two run walk-off homeruns.

Notice the three losses were at home in close games against talented teams. You have to at least understand why some of us would point the finger at him. I hope.

You are so correct. We had 3 gaping holes in the order on this night.

Jake W @ 10:46 –

No Jake — I WILL NOT. It’s not crap.
And no, in the 90s they averaged in the LEGITIMATE IN-HOUSE 30,000-40,000 range and there were NOT 28,000 in the house tonight.
Lousy fan support for a team that doesn’t deserve it. You’re right — it’s not Colorado — and those fans are going to enjoy October baseball.
