Glad Matty-D hit that Shot there, He took a lot of Hateration last night in the blog when in actuality he has been one of our best suprises on offense…
You gotta know that the Rockies are starting to feel the pressure now. I sure hope they are starting to sh*t their pants at least a little when they saw that three spot go up on the board.
I love MattieD!!! Way to go—that 3 run jack was bee-u-ti-ful!
Its a brand new ballgame…and now Josh Johnson is gone for the night. We have a huge chance!!! Go Braves~~!
In 1991, I was watching that August game against the Reds when David Justice hit the game tying home run in Cincinnati after being down 6-0. I remember screaming when Justice hit that homer.
Well, I read an article in the Sporting News the following week where they reported that an elderly lady in (i think) South Carolina called the cops because she heard her husband screaming downstairs “GET OUT OF HERE, GET OUT OF HERE”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! late at night.
When the cops got there, the husband couldnt understand why the cops barged in on him. He told them that he was yelling for that ball that Justice hit to “GET OUT OF HERE”.
And for all those hating on the fans, give the ones who actually showed up some credit. They are making noise and into it. Hopefully after a victory tonight I will be able to take in some victories in person the next two nights.
We’re playing for our lives here and the guy tells me to relax. No actually, he tells me to shut up and “quit being so bitchy” and relax but then don’t take it personally.
If the Rocks lose tonight, I am ok with losing this game, cause that way we at least didnt lose any ground. Dont get me wrong, I want us to win at all costs, but if the Rocks lose, this wont hurt as bad as if they win.
Good idea to send Nate there. I like the aggressiveness with 2 out, especially with 2,3,4 leading off next inning. Bad jump but it’s cool….we have momentum now.
“In 1991, I was watching that August game against the Reds when David Justice hit the game tying home run in Cincinnati after being down 6-0. I remember screaming when Justice hit that homer.”
That was such a Huge Game/Win, Even Tom Glavine was up on his feet clapping…Now that was a team that played with pride, they made things happen

I’m usually right there with ya cussing out the TV, but I gave up on the team and its chances of making it into October after that series vs the Padres and Reds so therefore I’m more mellow when I watch the games now, I’m Free and Clear
i had forgotten what kind of homers announce for the marlins..they reminded me when they made their argument that hanson shouldn’t even be considered in the same breath as coghlan for rookie of the year.
Carroll Rogers………..Not once I have I ripped McCann or Chipper when they have struggled. Their track record at the plate has proven that they will eventually bust out of whatever slump they are in. When many on here were calling for them to be dropped down in the order, I actually backed Bobby Cox’s decision to keep penciling them in the #3 and #4 spot of the batting order.
My only issue with both Chipper and McCann is their defense, which I hope that both will address in the off season.
When Prado was struggling in August, I said that he will eventually bust out of it. In April, when Garret Anderson was slumping badly, I said that dude is simply a professional hitter and that he will come around.
When Soriano went through a tough stretch with the blown saves, I never ripped him. My only criticism was with Bobby putting him in the 9th inning of the Houston game earlier this month when Tommy Hanson was rolling.
I only rip those I feel deserve it. And I take the time to explain my reasoning.

But a 3 run lead in the 5th inning seemed so sure. It made perfect sense to call the ballgame over.
They used to call ballgame in the 2nd inning, so the fact they call ballgame in the 5th is much improvement.
