Here’s KK, who shoulda started based on his record against aces this year, go KK!
that was probably Johnson’s last inning and they wasted some good opportunities to score off of him. Now they’ll have to contend with a new pitcher

Kind of fitting for the season to end on the McCann choke. We have been leaving tons of men on base all year and the pitching has kept us in games. Hudson did not.
I mean, I knew that it would be tough with our #5 vs their #1 but I was hoping for some magic. At least he didn’t swing at ball 4. Go KK!
I think the crowd noise scared McCann. They’re not used to that…though neither is Josh Johnson…
Should've been KK
Y’all didn’t really expect Chipper or McCann to come up big here did ya? Let’s face it, they’re both good players, but they aren’t carrying the team through this hot streak. Now we will bring in someone who probably has no business pitching middle relief.
Nova Scotia Steve - Fight Like A Brave
oh yeah…the save game NM
8 days since KK has pitched.
Watch Uggla on this first pitch.
3 back with 5 to play. HAVE to go 5-0 the rest of the way to even have a small chance.
You have to be kidding me!!!! We have left HOW MANY ON and have scored ONE run???? COME ON BRAVES!!
Would you doofuses quit calling a 3 run game over in the 6th?
How is the Marlins bullpen
That was our chance right there and we blew it.
And you people calling ballgame already are crazy, it’s the 6th inning and the Marlins are going to their pen… they’re very mortal and beatable pen.

When you’re the only NL team without a grand slam, that speaks volumes about your clutch hitting.
I wish Mac would have taken another pitch…but he’s our “clean-up hitter” and he’s not getting paid to walk…
On a more rational note, I say that one more bad play by McCann and we kick McFann off the blog.
September 29th, 20099:03 pm
If Tim Hudson accomplished one thing tonight, its that he screwed up chemistry with this team.. We have been playing lights out for a while now and when it gets down to crunch time, he falters miserably.. Giving up big hits to their pitcher, giving up home runs because he get hit his spots.. You knew he was in trouble early when he was giving up hits in the air, and their outs were in the air.. He is a ground ball pitcher and he didn’t have it.. You expect more out of a high priced veteran, but the truth is, I would rather have Jurrgens or Hanson on the mound any day over Tim Hudson.. Let him go cost another team a boat load of money.. By allowing him to walk, we can resign LaRoche and get us a LF bat..
I’m not going to dogg McCann for not coming through there. Josh Johnson is a tough pitcher. He threw a tailing fastball that McCann didnt make good contact with.
We still have 12 more outs. Long ways from being over.
Rockies out in front of Brew Crew already!
Doesnt matter if Johnson is out of the game braves are not hitting, nor did they hit a lick last night.
12 outs 4 runs to win
On a more rational note, I say that one more bad play by McCann and we kick McFann off the blog
As maddening and infuriating as that McCann pop-up was…there’s still plenty of baseball left to be played. Gotta put that inning behind you and look ahead.
LET’S GO BRAVES!!
September 29th, 20099:04 pm
nice K KK!
Don’t know why that showed up twice, but okay.
Seriously though, the Rockies have a 1 run lead, and we still have 4 innings to hit. Calm down people.
Steve from OH
If we lose tonight, McCann’s pop up will likely be the death nail of the season.Let’s be honest, three back in the loss column with five to go would be damn near impossible to overcome.
Brian McCann is a horrible clean-up hitter. Escobar should be #4 in the line-up.

For those of you judging a team by the number of grand slams they have this year – BoSox have 1. The Yankees have 2.
Mitchell’s gonna have a BF within the next hour…I’m glad I gave up on the team after the reds series. I just saved myself a lot of agony. I wasn’t going to let Bobby and his Posse play with my emotions again just because they pounded on AAA teams over the last 2 weeks…
And just because I gave up on them 3 weeks ago doesn’t mean I’m not a fan…I will support them even though our manager can’t leave soon enough…Most of the new bloggers who have come on within the last week or so will dissappear within the next day or two, and will be back opening day next year
Oh look, the man who SHOULD have started tonight, coming in way too late.
Because Lord knows we needed the Tim Hudson, return from Tommy Johnson surgery experiment out there.
Geez jeffrey – you posted that twice. I guess you’re serious.
Where’s Church? Diaz has looked bad the past 2 nights.
If Escobar is hitting cleanup, that leaves about 238497 lefties hitting in a row. He needs to be 6 to break them up.
Wish somebody would have pointed out to huddy that the calendar doesnt say october yet, and it was still okay to pitch well. Lowe and Hudson scare the crap out of me, i havent even been worried w JJ, Hanson or vazcuez pitching these last few weeks
September 29th, 20099:06 pm
Yep that’s it for Johnson after five
I guess it’s true what they say about “absence making the heart grow fonder”.
For 4 months people were all over Kawakami, now after he takes one for the team, so to speak, everyone wants their Kenshin back…lol!
I love this place.
It’s not over until it’s over.
ok let’s get a couple…or one
I sure how we can do something with the Marlins bullpen.
hopefully johnson is done
or something like that people….
McFann – I wasn’t serious
It’s good to know that some people can declare season over, see you next year ten days in a row, and still be here moaning and groaning because our #5 pitcher did not pitch as well as we would have liked…
This could very well be the game that costs us the season and the playoffs.. If the Rockies win, we may as well forget about the playoffs.. We do play 4 against the Nats, but you expect more out of a veteran pitcher like Tim Hudson.. If the young pitchers are dominating, what does that say for Hudson? To me it says, you are not worth bringing back next year.. May as well try to get Vazquez to sign a long term contract and let Hudson walk..
Good, not we can focus on the Marlins bullpen.
Good job Kawakami. The ideal thing would be for Kawakami to go 4 innings (resting the bullpen) AND us beating up on the Marlins bullpen.
September 29th, 20099:07 pm
put up a 6 spot here BRAVOS!!!!
I have a feeling that we should have started KK for this game.
Tie game 1-1 in Colorado
Brewers just tied it 1-1.
Brewers have tying run on 3rd, 1 out…
BREW CREW ties it up!!!!
I think I here Petey squawking.
Ok, I’m a little slow I guess…Tie game like Lentz said.
September 29th, 20099:08 pm
You know who has 7 grand slams? The Nationals. Now there’s a great team.
Hudson\’s $12 Mil option isn\’t looking too good right now.
Yup, I’d rather not see Josh Johnson till next year. Think I had enough of him for 2009.
john – I have a feeling that we should have started KK for this game.
I agree 100%
Brew Crew evens things up at 1.
I don’t know why but I actually prefer to give KK a start over Hudson or Lowe.
Mike CAMERON on third, one out, KENDALL at the plate 3-2 count. 1-1 BREWERS break through.
It takes no genius to know that Mc and Chipper are having the worst season both of them will ever have.
They both have been responsible for tons of our failure. Once again Mc makes a favor to the opposing team. Bases loaded, ahead 3-1 and he makes a swing? and pops up?
Just horrible stuff.
If we are down by 1 in the bottom of the 9th, the last guys I want near the plate are chipper and Mc.
Even Norton and Chipper got walks………….WTH was Mc thinking? Fences? 1 of the worse ABs Ive seen from him ………..because of the importance. He had to take the pitch even if it was right over the middle……..
The pitcher is coming from a flu, looks tired and our “best player” makes him a favor……..unreal.
September 29th, 20099:09 pm
Yeah, let’s judge him on one game. Right after coming back from TJ surgery.
Damn this guy has a era under 2
6 hits in 13 innings
Way to burn the toast tonight, Braves.
Come on Brew Crew!
I swear….it’s like Carroll and Dave baked stupid muffins this morning and everybody grabbed one.
put the rally caps on
Way to go Garrett
September 29th, 20099:10 pm
That’s my Loaf.
Mc Fann, duh, hear hear.
We need a long-bomb
I’m sure if Bobby started KK in this game and he gave up four runs, no one would be all over him for that decision…
Its ok people, we had no business being in the playoffs anyways if we couldnt beat Johnson, I mean, really, who have we face during our 7 game winning streak that was any good?? Not a single pitcher, not a single one.
loaf man! cmon yunel!!!!
Bottom of the second. Score tied 1-1.
Nice rip there by Garret.
September 29th, 20099:11 pm
VJ – you wouldn’t possibly be referring to a certain Braves “fan” from the land of cheese?
WAY TO GO ESCOBAR…HE LEANED IN
I GOT MY RALLY CAPS LOCK ON!
They renamed it after Kelly. It’s kind of like Hartsfield-Jackson. Kept the old name and added a new one.
Look at Esco, taking one for the team. Tying run up already.
Lets cash these runs in!
O’Flaherty is up.
Well it looked like he did
September 29th, 20099:12 pm
Unless something broke there, we caught a HUGE break (no pun intended) on that 0-2 hit by pitch there on Escobar.
Laroche this is why we got u hit a HR
take it for the team!
Said this afternoon and it bears repeating….Hudson will have a short leash and KK will pitch the middle innings. Also said …Just score 4!! or more…..definitely more. Looks prophetic.
Does anyone else see the Braves closing the option door on Hudson? Thought so….
yes let’s get these mofos!!!!!
That’s a bingo slot. Thanks, Esco.
