Kind of fitting for the season to end on the McCann choke. We have been leaving tons of men on base all year and the pitching has kept us in games. Hudson did not.
Y’all didn’t really expect Chipper or McCann to come up big here did ya? Let’s face it, they’re both good players, but they aren’t carrying the team through this hot streak. Now we will bring in someone who probably has no business pitching middle relief.
If Tim Hudson accomplished one thing tonight, its that he screwed up chemistry with this team.. We have been playing lights out for a while now and when it gets down to crunch time, he falters miserably.. Giving up big hits to their pitcher, giving up home runs because he get hit his spots.. You knew he was in trouble early when he was giving up hits in the air, and their outs were in the air.. He is a ground ball pitcher and he didn’t have it.. You expect more out of a high priced veteran, but the truth is, I would rather have Jurrgens or Hanson on the mound any day over Tim Hudson.. Let him go cost another team a boat load of money.. By allowing him to walk, we can resign LaRoche and get us a LF bat..
I’m not going to dogg McCann for not coming through there. Josh Johnson is a tough pitcher. He threw a tailing fastball that McCann didnt make good contact with.
We still have 12 more outs. Long ways from being over.
As maddening and infuriating as that McCann pop-up was…there’s still plenty of baseball left to be played. Gotta put that inning behind you and look ahead.
If we lose tonight, McCann’s pop up will likely be the death nail of the season.Let’s be honest, three back in the loss column with five to go would be damn near impossible to overcome.
Mitchell’s gonna have a BF within the next hour…I’m glad I gave up on the team after the reds series. I just saved myself a lot of agony. I wasn’t going to let Bobby and his Posse play with my emotions again just because they pounded on AAA teams over the last 2 weeks…
And just because I gave up on them 3 weeks ago doesn’t mean I’m not a fan…I will support them even though our manager can’t leave soon enough…Most of the new bloggers who have come on within the last week or so will dissappear within the next day or two, and will be back opening day next year
BravesfaninWis,
Wish somebody would have pointed out to huddy that the calendar doesnt say october yet, and it was still okay to pitch well. Lowe and Hudson scare the crap out of me, i havent even been worried w JJ, Hanson or vazcuez pitching these last few weeks
It’s good to know that some people can declare season over, see you next year ten days in a row, and still be here moaning and groaning because our #5 pitcher did not pitch as well as we would have liked…
This could very well be the game that costs us the season and the playoffs.. If the Rockies win, we may as well forget about the playoffs.. We do play 4 against the Nats, but you expect more out of a veteran pitcher like Tim Hudson.. If the young pitchers are dominating, what does that say for Hudson? To me it says, you are not worth bringing back next year.. May as well try to get Vazquez to sign a long term contract and let Hudson walk..
It takes no genius to know that Mc and Chipper are having the worst season both of them will ever have.
They both have been responsible for tons of our failure. Once again Mc makes a favor to the opposing team. Bases loaded, ahead 3-1 and he makes a swing? and pops up?
Just horrible stuff.
If we are down by 1 in the bottom of the 9th, the last guys I want near the plate are chipper and Mc.
Even Norton and Chipper got walks………….WTH was Mc thinking? Fences? 1 of the worse ABs Ive seen from him ………..because of the importance. He had to take the pitch even if it was right over the middle……..
The pitcher is coming from a flu, looks tired and our “best player” makes him a favor……..unreal.
Its ok people, we had no business being in the playoffs anyways if we couldnt beat Johnson, I mean, really, who have we face during our 7 game winning streak that was any good?? Not a single pitcher, not a single one.
Said this afternoon and it bears repeating….Hudson will have a short leash and KK will pitch the middle innings. Also said …Just score 4!! or more…..definitely more. Looks prophetic.
