Diaz isnt looking good so far tonight.
However, he has been known to have 2 or 3 ugly at-bats in a game, only to come back and get a hold of one late in the game.

46 pitches through 5 innings. A complete game would be FANTASTIC. It would allow our bullpen to completely rest today, just like the Rockies are doing today with their off day.
We need the offense to score a few more runs, and the Marlins to keep swinging at the first pitch.

I don’t know if this has been mentioned but another “edge” the Braves have regarding the schedule this week is that the Braves play earlier than the Rockies every day but Thursday. If we win or are ahead, the Rox have to feel pressure.

Agreed Diaz can look lousy twice or three times in a row then line on off the right field wall but his last at bat was one where you need to at least get the bat on the ball.

Just curious…do you people NOT think that Diaz could learn to be just a tad more selective on his pitch selection? It seems some of you think it is NOT possible… that he could actually learn the strike zone (or at least something closer to it)… and become an even better hitter…I just don’t think he is doomed forever… to swing at all the crap he swings at…live and learn I say…

by the way, Chipper’s HR moves him into a tie for 40th all-time with Billy Williams at 426. He needs two more to reach 20 and become the first major league player to begin his career with 15 straight 20-homer seasons. It would break the tie he shares with Eddie Mathews at 14 straight.

The city of Atlanta should be ashamed of itself for the turnout tonight at the Ted. If I’m Liberty Media, I check into moving this team some place else.
Just because they’re playing the Marlins, doesn’t mean they have to act like Marlins fans.
Is this a playoff race or the final two spring training games that are always played in Atlanta? Sad.

For all the crap Bobby AND the Braves get for not winning more than 1 WS…I say this
Ya know, it’s tough to get to the playoffs, year after year after year after year…etc, etc, etc. To do it 14 straight times is quite an accomplishment.
Do I think they could’ve, should’ve won more than 1 WS? Yeah, sure…but to be there to have a chance to do it 14 straight times is quite the feat.
I mean, look at the Cards and Tigers from 07. Did they make it back to the big show in 08? No

N8, the problem is, for me anyway, I live an hour outside of Atlanta and have to get up at 5 a.m. to get ready for an hour plus ride to work. So, even if I were free on Monday night, it would be really, really hard for me to go and stay for an entire game. I hate leaving in the 7th in order to beat the crowd out, but if I don’t do that, I don’t get home until about 4-5 hours before I have to be up again. Can’t do that anymore. Getting older sucks

Watching the Marlins broadcast team do a bit on how Chipper wanted fans to fill the stands and see how emptiness of the ted is quite embarrassing.
I am so sick of the Chris Coglin love affair from the Marlins broadcasters. Its freaking like Tim Tebow and ESPN.

I can’t believe this $***. This is one of the best pitching performances in baseball history. It should be 12 to nothing.
How f***ing hard is it to hit the ball when he puts it right down the middle? You don’t have to even be selective. Either it’s over 6 feet above the plate, a foot outside or right down the middle.

I’m NOT hatin’ on Diaz…I just refuse to believe a major league hitter is doomed to swing at the pitches that Diaz so often does…I have to think he has enough mental capacity to be more selective…without it ruining his “swing”…I actually have NO problem with that “crazy” swing of his…don’t change it…just tone down that “crazy” eye of his….it IS doable…
