2 runs is good. That’s the minimum i think you should get with bases juiced and 0 out. Still waiting on the 1st Grand Slam of the year. Maybe they’re saving it for the playoffs?
It’s on Nov 1st. Seems like forever huh? Training is going super good though. Thanks for asking and thanks much for your donation, that was so awesome of you and Carroll…
Baker is a nice player, as well. Damn, Marlins really have some nice pieces when you add Logan Morrison and Mike Stanton in the minors. Too bad they will have to trade Josh Johnson in the next 18 months.
I’ve seen CJ ignore the runner coming from second several times lately. It looks like he could make the play at third and keep the force play in effect but he takes the throw to first? Is it just me?
Not so sure about Stanton. Look at those AA strikeout numbers. He needs to work on the holes in his swing
Rob from SC, you’re just saying that because of your love for Heyward. Stanton probably doesn’t have the ceiling of Heyward, but he is probably going to be ranked as one of the 5 best prospects in baseball. He was young for Double-A, but ultimately, he has a chance to be great.
Everything I read says he has a higher upside than Heyward because of his power potential, but is unlikely to reach it because Stanton strikes out too much.
Before the Mets series began, I stated that the Braves needed to finish the season 12-1 in order to have a chance to make the playoffs. When I looked at the Braves schedule, I saw that 12 of the last 13 games were games that we SHOULD WIN. The one possible loss was tomorrow’s match-up, against Josh Johnson.
While it’s good to have Hudson pitching against Johnson tomorrow……..Johnson can be absolutely dominant at times. He’s pitched really well this year.
That is why winning the winnable remaining games is VERY IMPORTANT. By winning the winnable games, it would soften the blow of a potential loss tomorrow. In other words, losing against Johnson tomorrow would not mean the end of the Braves season. It would hurt obviously, but not end it. If we win tonight, at worst we’ll be 3 games out after tomorrow (provide Colorado wins tomorrow)
After tomorrow, we will face 5 BUMS to end the season. The Rockies will have 5 toughies left. While slim, the margin of error is still there.
Noticed that a couple of STUPID fans were trying to get that foul ball that Chipper caught. The fans in that section should have been yelling at those idiots to not interfere.
Everything I read says he has a higher upside than Heyward because of his power potential, but is unlikely to reach it because Stanton strikes out too much.
Rob from SC, I think Heyward has the higher upside. Stanton is a fine prospect, one of the ten best hitting prospects in the game. That’s really my only point. I don’t mind the strikeouts too much right now. His walk rates were solid before he hit Double-A, and again, very young for that level.
OK. The odds are against them and I don’t seriously think the Rockies will lose enough games for them to pull it off, BUT having late September games mean something is awesome. Make it or not, I’m much more optimistic about next year.
PAUL LENTZ …… every post you make while continuing to try and ignore my “call out” on you just keeps showing what a pathetic loser you are.
Let the record show that when you got a$$ handed to you by a former Braves player who actually played on a team that was managed by the Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez, you wussed out and couldn’t come up with one thing to say to defend your BS posts.
Just like I thought you would you pathetic wanna-be sports know-it-all.
The biggest adjustment prospects face is when they go to AA and AAA the amount of breaking balls they face.
Rob from SC, what does that have to do with anything? So you think just because Stanton will face tougher breaking pitches in Triple-A he won’t make it or be an above average player? He does get to make adjustments in this whole period though, right? Like, he as a player can get better, right?
I hope Joe feels good about himself for ruining Chipper’s homerun highlight. That will play on atlantabraves.com with him ripping the fans at the beginning.
If they win, what does it matter? There will probably be people there this weekend if nothing else.
If they win the World Series at home in front of 20 thousand, it still counts.
Good job by Chipper though. Big hit there. Key word… “hit”. Only the Braves could let a pitcher off the hook with only two runs and no hits after walking the bases loaded.
Why would you even swing at that point unless it’s right down the middle? That was disturbing.
There’s a hit by Adam. Might as well hit the guy while you’re at it.
