Hah! Well, I’m lucky that I don’t have to pay much per year. I kinda feel bad for picking one of the most expensive schools in the South…not that bad, though.

TnBrian That’s a shame what Joe Simpson just said about the papers in Atlanta hardly even acknowledging the Braves. It’s college football time & people are obviously into that instead.

This isn’t about the fans. It’s about Atlanta.

Atlanta gave up on baseball somewhere along the way. The real fans care. I’m sorry I’m not there, I wish I could be but you recall the Braves didn’t have this problem in the ’90s.

Call me crazy but I think that will change when we get somebody new in here.

I don’t really feel like that’s true. There’s only one main paper in Atlanta. The broadcast outlets don’t much, though.

Over the past couple of months I have deleted dozens of posts from different people that were all talking about how great the sampler program is at http://savingmorethanefore.com Quite honestly I believed that they were spam and that is why I deleted them. Last night I was at my cousins home and he was telling me that it is possible to stock up on free groceries and merchandise for almost nothing. After I stopped laughing he took a shoebox out of his closet that was full of receipts. The savings on these receipts were eye popping. Savings between 75% – 85%! I was even more shocked to find out that the program he is using is the same one that I mentioned above. Sorry members for deleting the previous posts. I am now a member also after seeing the savings.

I don’t know if the Braves will make it to the playoffs. I don’t know if they’ll have to win out. I don’t know if the Rockies will lose 3 games. I don’t know if the Rockies will lose 2 games.

One thing I DO know is Fred Hickman can polish off a plate of food. No doubt about that.

On the Marlins pregame show, I hear that if the Braves and Rockies finish tied, that the playoff game will be held in Atlanta. The Braves and Rockies split their season series 4-4. However, the Braves hold the tiebreaker edge in the record of games within the division.

Paul Lentz,

First let me make it clear that I agree with you on the Norton angle. Norton has no business being on a roster and I want to stab my eye with a sharp object anytime I see him in the on deck circle. That being said, I can understand why Bobby continues to march him out there. Take last night for example, 7th inning, one out, man on third, and up strolls Norton. We all know he will probably choke, and it’s not like Bobby doesn’t notice that Norton has no batting average. So why doesn’t Bobby use Conrad, Infante, Church, Ross, or Gorecki in that situation. My guess is that every other guy has a purpose on the roster other than hitting. Like it or not, Norton is only on the team for his weak bat. He has no defensive skills. Every other guy can bat, pinch run, defensive sub, double switch, or whatever else you need them for. Norton can only swing a bat, and he does it poorly. Now, again, let me clarify, I don’t agree with the decision to march him up there, but I can understand why he chooses to do it. This is something Wren should have taken care of long ago. While I agree it is Bobby’s fault to continue to use him, Wren should have never given Cox the chance to continue to do it for this long.

Bobby Cox’s demeanor is reflected in the level of fan enthusiasm as far as I’m concerned.

If you lose four World Series, that’s one thing. There’s a lot of luck involved, good and bad and Bobby was lucky if he got any of either… that makes sense I think… but losing four division series in a row to inferior teams and then finishing third three years out of four and fourth last year is going have an effect. Figure it out.

I hate to reference that lame ESPN show 5 reasons you can’t blame*… but there is a bit of a Rhett Butler factor in this part of the country. It’s getting a little old.

*Of course, the episode I’m refering to was 5 reasons you can’t blame Bobby Cox for only winning one World Series in case that was unclear.

Jair Jurrjens can set the tone for this series with a strong outing.

As quick as I am to criticize Bobby Cox for his many mistakes this year, I will also point out (in addition to Peter Moylan), that Bobby was right about inserting Tim Hudson back in the starting rotation when he was activated. Tim Hudson is someone I want to see starting an important game.

The dominance of our starting pitching the past 3 weeks has rendered the lack of depth in our bullpen irrelevant (that was the reason I was advocating for Hudson to come back as a reliever). Hudson has shown that he can go 7 innings (which was a concern of mine). Hopefully he will continue this trend in his last 2 starts.

Hey PAUL LENTZ ………… in my last post I straight up “called you out” !!! Are you such a wuss that your going to PRETEND like you didn’t see it ??? What’s wrong PAULIE ?? or is it PAULINE ??

Why don’t you show us all how much of a baseball GENIUS (sarcasm) you are and during the game tonight you can tell us all how you would manage the game by making decisions BEFORE something actually happens. You know, tell us who should be warming up in the bullpen to come in a face which batters that are due up, or tell us who should be pinch hitting for the Braves in the next inning, when should we be double-switching, and when should the starting pitcher be replaced. These are the kinds of things that real managers do and if you are such an intelligent baseball savant ( or is that idiotsavant?) then you should be able to do this.

SO PUT UP OR SHUT UP !!!

If you don’t do this for us tonight then you should NEVER post on this blog AGAIN !!!

Rob from SC (Chipper is a ground ball machine)………….dude, I said that Moylan should have started the year in Triple A.

What I was referring to was the fact that Bobby was right to stick with Moylan in the 2nd half of the season.

However, balance that against Bobby’s refusal to institute changes in the line-up in mid-May. And of course also include his insistence of trotting Greg Norton out there.
