Dixie’s a cutie!
And Joe Cox isn’t?

When was the last time Albert Pujols walked?
Thanks Sophie, she’s a real sweetheart too, lovable as all get out. From genuine Ugga stock too.
September 26th, 200910:35 pm
I wonder what the Braves are talking about during dinner right now….
lol oh wait…I assumed Dixie was a player
Wayne in Utah
Has their ever been a question that Paul Dunce doesn’t like Greg Norton or Bobby Cox.
I think Norton is having a terrible year. I love Bobby Cox. I think alike with Paul 50% of the time……scary as hell!
PS: Have we EVER heard anybody say Bobby is a great tactician??? I don’t think I have EVER heard anybody make that statement.
But, is it just pure dumb luck that Javier Vazquez is having a career year, THIS year? Did Jared Wright and John Burkett (and others I am too lazy to look up or can’t remember right at this moment) have career years when they came to Atlanta???
Is there something in the water down there in Atlanta? Or maybe, I shudder to mention it, could it be, maybe, just maybe, Bobby Cox is the type of manager that gets the most out of some players??????? Nah, could’t be.
Almost everybody (outside of this blog) thinks Bobby is an outstanding manager, and headed for the Hall of Fame. What does that have to say about you idiots who continue to harp on him????
September 26th, 200910:36 pm
No comment. I don’t want to offend the Dawgs on here.
September 26th, 200910:37 pm
Pinch running for Lugo??
Thats as questionable as Soriano coming out today…
Cos…………..while I appreciate your kind words in your 10:30pm posting, I wouldnt go as far as say that this blog is “lifeless” without me, lol.
To be honest, I enjoy a good debate. While challenging at times, I feel that having to defend your position on any subject matter is a good thing that should be welcomed by others. I dont take it as a personal insult when someone challenges my view on something. Debate can be a healthy thing.
Hey why’s the pitcher up? Hitting pretty good though – .230.
September 26th, 200910:38 pm
Wainwright coming out for the 8th
Brandon from Warner Robins
Nicely stated Wayne in Utah…..
September 26th, 200910:39 pm
Wainwright is coming out in the 8th??
Talk about no faith in your bullpen…
September 26th, 200910:40 pm
Dixie the dog, jeffrey. Duh!
STRIKE THREE CALLED!!!!
September 26th, 200910:41 pm
Yorvit stole Yunel’s music!
“Thats as questionable as Soriano coming out today…”
I didn’t mind him coming out to pitch to one guy today. Had he not pitched today that would have been 3 days without pitching and a well rested Soriano pitching in a close game bothers me almost as much as a Soriano who has pitched in 3 straight games.
With Lowe pitching tomorrow, nothing is ever assured with him and Soriano might be needed to lock down a close game. So him getting in a little bit of in-game work is good.
Rob from SC………..as I stated before, I know that all teams lose games they should win during a season. However, what gets me is obvious instances of Bobby Cox mismanaging the Braves. From being loyal to BUMS who SUCK A$$……….to misusing the bullpen…..to having Matt Diaz come in and “pinch bunt” in a game against Chicago (instead of using Javier Vazquez or Jair Jurrjens to pinch bunt)………….to taking out Tommy Hanson after cruising through 8 innings against Houston, ahead 1-0…………that is where I feel that my criticisms are justified.
September 26th, 200910:42 pm
Paul Lentz , thanks for that very diplomatic answer. Keep contributing your comments in this place that we could savour.
I got the hint when Mixxo called Dixie a “sweetheart”
Don’t think I’d ever call Joe Cox that.
Steve from OH
Storyline of 2010 season: “Wainwright mysteriously ineffective.”
Go BOOM BOOM!
Everybody say Hey-yo!
Why Larrusa is making Wainwright throw 120 pitches when he’s already gone 7 innings and isn;t exactly cruising at a time where they’ve practically clinched is illogical.
WAYNE, WAYNE what you been smokin’ dude? LOL. BC’s frayed a bit this year in bull-pen management and sticking with players he trusts, but IMO he looks at it as giving them a chance to succeed, or to redeem themselves. Some do well in that environment and some don’t. It’s cool.
Rob from SC
September 26th, 200910:43 pm
he was out
Good job Yadi!!
September 26th, 200910:44 pm
Those mans lip consume 70% of his face….
September 26th, 200910:45 pm
I got you. I am not a huge Cox fan myself. Just have to take the good with the bad. We made a great improvement from last year. Keep the pitching, call up Heyward, and get a bat and lets see what happens in 10
Steve from OH…………..Storyline of 2010 season: “Greg Norton re-signs with the Braves”.
If someone can answer that question, then I’ll give them a pony.
The question is not about why Lentz is still here. If he bothers you so much, the question is, why are you still here? If you’re a masochist, I’ll completely understand.
Remember, this is a public forum.
Wow … looked like the Cards had picked EY Jr. off first.
Runner on first, one out, bottom eighth, 4-3 Cards.
September 26th, 200910:46 pm
Eric Young can really run
Paul Lentz is MVP of this blog !!!!
September 26th, 200910:48 pm
THATS BS!!! HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUT!!!
Yoko Ono’s got more hits than Norton… Yeah, but Norton has a better voice.
LaRussa is blowing it!!!
Yahoo’s slow. How many outs?
September 26th, 200910:49 pm
Yeah, you can’t get kicked off for being stupid or annoying.
Although Lentz did get kicked off once after he went psycho one night.
Oh, and I want that pony. Just put it in the mail, mmk?
Jesuschrist get him out Tony..
Yahoo’s up to speed…2 on, one out.
Rob from SC……….do you really think that Bobby Cox is primarily responsible for the Braves improvement this season? If the Braves had a manager who wasnt afraid of benching BUMS who SUCK A$$ (instead of having his hand forced by injuries, trades, etc)………….then we would have already clinched a playoff spot by now.
Again, the Braves are still in contention DESPITE Bobby Cox, not because of him. Frank Wren did a fantastic job of remaking the roster and Bobby Cox still found a way to mismanage this team for a good part of the season.
The way we are playing now should have been evident earlier in the season. Bobby Cox held this Braves team back by not benching the BUMS who made our offense stall in quicksand.
one out soph

Although Lentz did get kicked off once after he went psycho one night
He did. And he has yet to apologize to a certain blogger for his actions that night as well.
September 26th, 200910:51 pm
YES! One more out to go in the eighth.
Giambi coming up for the Rox. COME ON AW!!
Come on, Adam! One mo’.
September 26th, 200910:52 pm
Come on LaRUSSA. You sucked as a RICHMOND BRAVES SS and you’re killing WAINWRIGHT. If the BRAVES get into the play-offs and draw St. LOUIS, I would be making all their starters work like crazy in the early innings. TONY L. must hate his bull-pen.
No! I think Frank Wren is 100% the reason why we have improved this season. He didn’t trade any of our top prospects and made our rotation the best in the Major Leagues.
LaRussa putting his rep on the line here….
Uh oh. The Giambino…..
I know he’s gone psycho more than once (usually he gets mad when people gets his name wrong). But this was the time he went postal. Nothing was off limits.
And yes, he did say something incredibly distasteful to Mitchie-san (sp?)
Why is Cox LaRussa not getting the lefty? The Cards are winning in spite of him, in my expert and genius opinion.
I give LaRussa credit, he’s showing a lot of faith in a pitcher who has earned it this year. 18 wins this season can do that for a pitcher.
LaRussa is definitely going “against the book”. Just imagine if LaRussa was the Braves manager?
September 26th, 200910:53 pm
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS…………..Big time pitch there by Wainright……………………………
Adam Wainwright will always be a BRAVE in my heart
I think the momentum just shifted the cardinals way…
STRIKE THREE CALLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ATTA BOY ADAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
on to the ninth.
The SSI and all of Braves Nation cheers!
TnBrian(Vazquez ace 2010)
3 more outs Cards! 2 back & then we’re rollin… man, I’m getting excited.
September 26th, 200910:54 pm
Fumanchu strikes out
Wainwright staggers through the eighth with a strike-out of Giambi.
Cards have three more outs to get to clinch the Central and to shrink Colorado’s WC lead to 2 games in the loss column.
Yay! I heart you, Adam Wainwright!
Why is Cox LaRussa not getting the lefty? The Cards are winning in spite of him, in my expert and genius opinion.
Wainwright is a freakin horse. Its nice to see Wainwright pitching for the Braves again tonight. He may win the Cy tonight.
Mark in PA
September 26th, 200910:55 pm
I am lovin’ the Cards right now! Wainright K’s Giambi with two on in the 8th to hold the lead!
that was a great Norton by Giambi there….
All I can say that if Lowe loses tomorrow, he is going to need a restraining order
September 26th, 200910:56 pm
Rob from SC………….According to some on here back in June…..Frank Wren gave up “the farm” in the McLouth trade. Charlie Morton and Gorkys Hernandez are supposed to be upcoming All-Stars right?
I can’t believe I’m in my living room, jumping up & down,,,,because the *cardinals* just struck out another team. (is this what making September “meaningful” does to fans?)
FRANK’s been delivering the goods. Hope he signs up the right ones for next year and goes outside for one big bat. That new player can take GREG NORTON’s spot. KJ looks like he’s vying for it now. What’s he hitting as a pinch-hitter? Like .300 isn’t it?
I dont see why the Braves cant win on out, I think the Marlins are out and they know it therefor they arnt going to play AS HARD as they would. And I think the nationals at the end will just play to get this season over. I think if the Cards win tonight and tomorrow, the Rockies will be crused and lose 2 of 3 vs the Brewers and Dodgers will murder them, I think we got this.. BELIEVE!!!! and praying wont hurt.
No way you can compare Giambi and Norton. Giambi has 50 RBIs. Norton has 6. Where would we be without those 6 RBIs?
September 26th, 200910:57 pm
jeffrey d………….dude attacked me that night. I attacked him back. Just because someone serves in the military does not mean that they are immune from personal attacks……particularly when they attack others.
I will not apologize to him. Simple as that.
Hey PAUL LENTZ:
I cut you some slack on here, but don’t be doggin’ out my boy MORTON.
southern hope–yep! Glad that we’re actually relevant this year. Hoping for the best going forward…
September 26th, 200910:58 pm
Extremely interested to watch Smoltz pitch tomorrow with the division clinched (if they win tonight). He is really bitter towards the Braves. I can only imagine what will be going through his mind. It would be a big F U to Frank Wren if he loses.
this time i’m sure the cards have ONLY three outs to close out the rocks tonight, geez im buzzed, haha …
dawgs on cardiac areest watch …haha
Ryan doubles.. insurance wouldnt hurt
September 26th, 200910:59 pm
Mark Derosa, another former Brave, doubles with 2 out in the ninth. Let’s get a little insurance, Cards.
My take on the MARLINS is the reverse. I think they’ll be surly and spoling for a fight. They can’t wait to rain on our parade.
Oh boy. I think it’s gonna get ugly on here soon.
September 26th, 200911:00 pm
Oops. That was Ryan not Derosa.
If Wainwright doesn’t get laid tonight…..
Ryan doubles, not DeRosa
People get “attacked” (I can put that in quotes becuase it’s something you said) on here all the time. But I have NEVER seen someone lose it like you did that one night. It wasn’t just Mitchie. You were goin off on urr-verybody that night
I can tell you the Braves front office really liked Morton and believe he will become a good major league starter.
Rob–That’s a ridiculous comment…You really think Smoltz is gonna try and stick it to the Braves by throwing a game when they are still in contention for the league’s best record? I mean, really?
September 26th, 200911:01 pm
HOMERUN LUDWICK!!! 6-3 CARDS
Yee freakin hawwwwwwww.
Yes Ryan Ludwick thank you.
That helps a lot!
2 run HR by Ludwick. 6-3 cardinals.
6-3 Cards! It just went from ugly to pretty on here
Yup, richbrave – I think you’re right about the Marlins. They’ll definitely put up a fight IMO.
That will do
LUDWICK 2 RUN HR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there a choking noise coming from Colorado? I need Anders to verify what that noise is.
