God, Norton can’t hit s***.

Just little weak fly balls like that.

You know, if he’d been hitting the ball like that all year and still making outs, that would be one thing but that’s about the hardest he’s hit anything in ‘09.

When is Clint Sammons ever going to get an at-bat by the way?

To me, it doesn’t seem so, for a kid who hasn’t had arm problems, a big kid who’s very bright and, I think, knows it’d be stupid to pitch with a sore arm. DOB

whether it’s true or not there are a whole bunch of baseball people who see Tommy as an arm injury just waiting to happen with his mechanics. Doesn’t hurt for them to be careful with him while still so young. I think one more start will put him about where he needs to stop, I agree that it hasn’t been too much to this point. I’m pretty happy with the way it is turning out actually.

If we keep rolling right along, theres gonna be more than one team feeling the pressure from us, if the Phillies lose tonight they are only 5 games up with 8 to play. Now, us winning the division is highly improbably, but you know it will have to be in the back of the Phils minds not to go on a prolonged losing streak.

Tomahawkin

Everyone was so quick to bash Mitchell because he called out Bobby

Of Course everyone is gonna get on the “Support Bobby” bandwagon because the braves are winning meaningless games because Bobby and the braves know that the pressure is off of them…

I just ask where was this style of baseball a month ago when the games were huge so they wouldn’t be scoreboard watching right now…

I’m not being critical but had this team dropped these 2 games everyone on here would be saying that they can’t wait til next year is over for that Bobby would be gone, as well as another Mark Bradley blog would be out calling “What Bobby did wrong this season”

Go Braves, I still think we are out of it and I wish the team played like this a month ago…Then every team that is headed to October would be scared to face the braves starters…

Unbelievable……… Even when we’re on the hottest streak of the year your inane bloggers get on here to crap about every freakin little thing just to jump on the very small “bandwagon” of Cox bashers.

That’s why nobody with any real love for the Braves blogs during the game. Who wants to sit hear and respond to this asinine crap.

Get a freakin clue you bunch of dumba$$e$…….If you knew anything about real baseball or thought about more than just the current score or batter you would understand a little more about why managers make their decisions.

It’s real easy to jump on the keyboard and make anonymous judgements about things that you have no real knowledge of.

Dave, I’m very proud of the way the Braves are playing right now. It’s too bad they couldnt have done this two weeks earlier than they did.

Theoretically, if the Rockies hopefully lose tonight to cut it to two and a half. I think the Braves can go seven and one or six and two the rest of the way, but, if they do that, Colorado would have to go two or three games under for us to catch them.

We can hopefully sweep the remaining five games from Washington with the way we’re playing now. Florida scares me a little. If we win two of three from them, and finish 7-1, that puts us at ninety wins even. Many, many teams have won wild cards with less than ninety. Heck, as we know, one year, the Braves won the East with 90, and also with 88.

The problem is, we dont control our own destiny. All we can do is keep winning. If the Rockies keep winning as well, then you just have to tip your hat to them.

The real problem is time. If we had another week or two left, we could do this. With only eight games left, and the Rockies playing as they are, we just have to win, and hope for help from the teams playing the Rockies.

Whatever happens, we are finishing strong. I hope we make it, but, if not, we have something positive to look forward to for 2010.

Why is everone Bashing Mitchell…?

Dude watches just about every game and blogs so he has a right to have BF’s on here as much as he pleases, If you don’t like what he says about Bobby’s bad coaching strategies, the team playing flat, etc, just ignore it….He is supportive of his boys and that’s what It’s supposed to be about. He could be like most Frontrunners here in the Atlanta Area and that is support the team til the All-star break and then leave the braves for UGA/Falcons Football

As long as he isn’t hostile, give the dude a break

New Elias Rankings are out.

Adam LaRoche remains a Type B and puts even more distance between him and the “no-status” status. He’s almost a lock for Type B status at this point.

Garret Anderson, inexplicably, yet predictably, remains a Type B and in no jeopardy of falling out of Type B status.

Rafael Soriano and Mike Gonzalez remain locks for Type A status.

The biggest move in the rankings is Tim Hudson, who is now on the border for Type B status. There is now only one player between the lowest rated Type B (Barry Zito, 59.318) and Tim Hudson (57.576). That’s John Lannan at 57.879. There’s actually a fairly good chance Tim Hudson will attain Type B status. Hudson has two scheduled starts remaining, 1 vs. FLA and 1 vs. Washington. With two wins, he’ll probably qualify for Type B status.

Meaningless games? Ask the Rockies — or Giants or Marlins — if these games the Braves are playing are meaningless. They might be meaningless to you, but they damn sure are not meaningless to anyone involved, including the team (Colorado) that’s three games ahead of the NL’s hottest team (Braves) in the wild-card race, after being 8-1/2 games ahead two weeks ago.
