SteveFrom OH-No. YOu get the money you would have paid to Hudson and you spend it on your needs that have to be filled. Hudson, no matter how well he may have pitched in the past is not pitching that way now and certainly he is NOT pitching as well as Vazquez. Both make the same amount of $$$ and likely either will be as easy as the other to sign to an extension. In such an instance, you go with the better of the two and in THIS instance, that is definitvely Javy Vazquez. See ya, Tim-thanks for what you’ve done. Later.

Or you could trade Kawakami, sign both Vazquez AND Hudson to three year extensions, still get some more power and bullpen help (and a pinch hitter) and have the best pitching taff in baseball for three more years after 09 with a rotation of Vazquez, Jurrjens, Hanson and Hudson.

Guess what two options I would go for and in what order I would put them. (Hint-it ain’t trading Javy and I think Hudson is better than KK).

DOB: If you like Leonard Cohen, then listen to Laura Nyro (rock’s first female singer/songwriter — and its greatest). She wrote lyrics as good if not better, and unlike Cohen, sang them with a beautiful voice that had a three-octave range. Check out her vocals on some of her best known tunes: And When I Die (written when she was 16-years-old), Stoney End, Wedding Bell Blues, Stoned Soul Picnic, Eli’s Comin’, Sweet Blindness, Time and Love, Save the Country … and dozens more. She should have been inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame years ago, and the fact that she has to beat out ABBA (ABBA !!!) for induction leads me to believe that Western Civilization (an oxymoron, according to Gandhi) is indeed doomed …

Steve, you just don’t get it do you? Everyone doesn’t have the same “play date” internet screen name every time they post here!

It never ceases to amaze me how some people can adopt a name on a blog and then become that person. ON the net, you can be a brain surgeon, truck driver, stripper, ex-ballplayer, great artist, beauty queen, bodybuilder, priest, policeman or prostitute.

I simply choose to go with an idea and then use a different screen name anytime the subject changes. I’m not here to make friends. I’m not here to plan a meeting. I’ve been posting here for about as long as this blog has been in existence. I’ve never had a screen name that I stuck with long enough to develop that little pigeon holed identity that would make you feel comfy in being able to relate to. I don’t keep the same name so no one would recognize a static name anyway.

If someone wants to establish the screen name, Georgia Studly Man, I could give two hoots. If he wants to develop online friendships and relationships based on the fact that he is Georgia Studly Man, then so be it. On the other hand, when Georgia Studly Man or Steve from OH or any other name that appears regularly here wants to call me out because I don’t use a static name, I have to smile. I suppose they need a name to use so they can put some fantasy face or personna into a small corner of their brain and associate that information with me.

I find that concept a bit odd and immature.

Lew,

You’re a corporate dream! You’re the consumer who will buy anything the company sells simply because they own the Braves!

I think the Braves would prosper under interested, local ownership vs. corporate ownership. Most people hated it when Time Warner owned the Braves. That is the main reason I would love to see Liberty held accountable.

And another thing Lew…… you seem like you aren’t a total moron. Don’t expect me to believe that just because Liberty Media is a huge corporation they shouldn’t be held accountable for the actions of a company they paid 100 million for controlling interest of. You don’t think that the due dillegence involved in purchasing a business operation demanding a 100 million investment from your firm would not reveal the business practices of said company?

Give me a freakin break!

My point in the Liberty Media story is that a corp with their connections to selling steroids online SHOULD NOT be allowed to own a franchise.

Interesting to see if MLB just blows it off like most who have posted here want them to do.
