Good question, ChopDawg.
That sucks bravesgril4life! Remember, you have to get a second tv and hook up the dual receiver before next season! Then, your husband’s on his own.
DOB, only bad thing about that is a 6-0 lead in Denver is like a 1-0 lead anywhere else, it isnt safe.

No More Bobby
Actually I work nights, Wednesday is the only night I’m off. I usually read the blogs when I get off around midnight, but I won’t respond to a post from several hours sooner. As far as calling me a fair-weather fan, I’ve been watching the Braves since the 72-73 season. Although I lived 5 hours away (I now live 2 hours away) I would go watch at least 4 or 5 series a year.
I’m like you. I know we need a change, however it’s not going to happen. The only thing we can do is put up with it. Bitching about it is not going to change the fact that he’s here for 1 more year, so we just have to learn to deal with it.
Boog and Joe really need to check those 3 messages on the Blackberry
Joe Simpson hearts Kelly. A lot.
I’m tired of the cell Phone Commercials, The Gayco Commercials and anything McDonalds Commercials
Oh yea add those stoopid Amstel light commercials to that as well
I’m tired of all of the McDonalds and Airtran commercials, period
September 23rd, 200910:24 pm
Yep, that’s the plan. I’ve already got the dual receiver, so just gotta get the TV. I’d ask for it for Christmas, but I’ve just about got him on the hook for my jersey. Just gotta decide if it’s gonna be McCann or Hanson.

NO MORE BOBBY
That was intended for you and about 2 dozen others. You seem to be a smart enough guy, except for your one obsession. Can’t you go back in time and see that what I am saying is true?
And Paul Dense (I use a variation of your name so you won’t respond to me on purpose), there was a line from a Shakespeare play that suits you perfectly: it is a tale told by and idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing….
September 23rd, 200910:25 pm
Well on the plus side, if MFIKY blows this save, it’ll give me a nice vertical on the Bingo board.
Alright, MFIKY, stop that sh!t
I had a dream I was “the guy” getting Soph’s breakfast in the Airtran room service ad.
September 23rd, 200910:26 pm
The Rockies don’t quit in the 5th inning and they don’t play the Padres like the padres are a pushover. Get back to us if the Padres are still up after the Rox bat in the 9th.
Oh, you can’t go wrong with either Hanson or Mac. For McFann’s sake, I’ll say get the McCann.
I still have my old Andruw t-shirt. Along with a Chipper & Huddy.

Any list of reasons addressing the issue of whether Bobby Cox should retire or why we won’t make the playoffs this year is really a list of why we should be going to the playoffs.
We have a pitching staff worthy of the World Series and an ability, when everyone does their job, to beat just about anybody. It’s not to say we’re a first place team but it doesn’t help when you have a third place manager.
That makes me the chick eating that nasty-ass toast, then?
September 23rd, 200910:28 pm
Soph, I’ve still got my Francoeur tee, too.
Hit the wrong darned button. Sorry about that!
If I didn’t know better I would think Soriano’s mind is a thousand miles from this game.
I have Andruw, Huddy, McCann, and…..Drew.
September 23rd, 200910:29 pm
Well done, MFIKY!!!!
GAME!!!! SWEEP, SWEEP, SWEEP
You are dead on about one point…..you are definitely “sorry”.
Yay! Great sweep.
Well, Mets – it’s been fun. Better luck next season.
September 23rd, 200910:30 pm
Okay, nice talking with ya’ll tonight. I’m off to tell Hubby he can have TV now and then to bed. Good night, all. Have a good one.
Ugh, Drew. I don’t like him. Burn it!
September 23rd, 200910:31 pm
I actually feel sorry for David Wright. It’s that bad.
This really isn’t fair. It’s odd though, we lost 90 games last year and still beat them. I guess they can’t win any way you slice it.
It’ll be good to hopefully gain a game on those Rockies cause we’re going to get swept in D.C.
Like Boog said earlier, We win tonight and the Rockies lose, that’s down to 4 games. Rockies lose tomorrow, that’s 3 1/2 going into the week-end.
We play the Nats, the Rockies play the Cardinals.
Break out the brooms!!!!!!!!!!!
September 23rd, 200910:32 pm
JD was my favorite when he was here. But I kinda thought we’d have him for more than one season…
10-2 against the Mets in the second half this season.
September 23rd, 200910:33 pm
We were wrong. She went with an unenthusiastic “Whoopy.”
I actually feel sorry for David Wright.
You got me Wayne.
Didn’t even see it comin’. No wait, I did.
ROX just scored and have 2 more on base.
I guess we won in spite of Cox
September 23rd, 200910:34 pm
Good call, FoxSS. I was just asking “What should I watch tonight? I really hope someone replays an old South Carolina game.”
September 23rd, 200910:35 pm
it will really, really, really, really stink if Colorado comes back and wins this game
jeffrey d We were wrong. She went with an unenthusiastic “Whoopy.”
Sorry to disappoint…
I’ve run out of things to say for K’s.
September 23rd, 200910:36 pm
Rox just scored again. Now the tying run is on deck.
September 23rd, 200910:37 pm
It’s just a little tough.
I used a fresh glass for your “old” orange juice though.
September 23rd, 200910:38 pm
McFann – http://gapersblock.com/fuel/archives/clean_expletives/
Although they’re not all clean. My favorite is “crap-a-roon-dog!”
and 3-6 against the Phillies the second half of the season . . .
The dang Rox never quit!
What is it with those guys?
September 23rd, 200910:39 pm
Whoopy? You got me on that one, McFann. I really thought it was going to be crud in all caps.
September 23rd, 200910:41 pm
I’ve been using fudgesicles.
September 23rd, 200910:42 pm
Bases loaded Rox still batting in the 5th
I will tell you what it is, they are good at playing in that park, its definite home field advantage for them. I know, I know, the other team has the advantage as well, but what I am saying is that the Rox know how to use that park to their advantage.
The Braves can sweep the Mets twice but can they keep it going against the Nats?
September 23rd, 200910:43 pm
Churchman, I sure hope so. And speaking of Church, where has he been lately??
September 23rd, 200910:44 pm
Can’t wait till 2011 !
Damn it will be a long year.
Haha! I like “fiddlesticks”…but it takes to long to type an doesn’t give off enough anger.
A good, old-fashioned “DANGIT!!” is usually the best way to go…Something about that “a” sound really gives off anger.
Sorry, Soph. I didn’t feel like posting anything after BMac’s latest K (I mean, what more cann type about those cr–uddy things?), and since the Braves won I thought I’d post a happy word after the game ended…
“Fudgesicles”–that’s funny. They finished the Mets like a fudgesicle…
Welp, that’s it for me. Night, all.
In 20 years, when (else) did Bobby ever stick with a player the caliber of Greg Norton for a full season?
September 23rd, 200910:45 pm
Need I remind anybody that we have the mighty Nats coming up? Just knocked off the Dodgers.
What a blog! Has it’s own vernacular . We began the year with “your and idiot” then MFIKY hit the blog waves and it took about 3 months for me to figure that out. Now we have “ho, sit down” to bring our year to a close. Beautiful. All three should be readily adopted for 2010.
September 23rd, 200910:46 pm
September 23rd, 2009
The dang Rox never quit!
What is it with those guys?
They are not doing something out of this planet, they get paid for it……..apparently our braves get paid for quitting early in the game if they fall behind.
I think we’ll go 7-0 against the Nats (assuming the last 4 still matter by the time we get to them).
It’s the fish, as usual, that have me scared.
September 23rd, 200910:47 pm
that Gload guy is clutch
September 23rd, 200910:48 pm
Night, McFann! Cheer up.
September 23rd, 200910:49 pm
Nats knocked off the Dodgers?? What constitutes as ‘knocked off’ in your book? They hit a walk off sac fly, not really killing them there, and they lost 14-2 the night before.
Doc Holiday @ 10:46
And people wonder why I’m bitter/negative.
September 23rd, 200910:50 pm
Geeze, it’s 6-2 for the Padres. You guys were talking like the Rockies were mounting some huge comeback. They have 3 hits.
September 23rd, 200910:51 pm
And people wonder why I’m bitter/negative.
You’re not bitter. You’re a reverse psych specialist. I’m bitter when you say stuff about the Yankees.
September 23rd, 200910:52 pm
“knocked off” = beat, defeated
always has in sports vernacular, as far as I can remember.
I know for someone named “O.J.”, “knocked off” has a different connotation, but speaking in sports terms . . .
September 23rd, 200910:53 pm
jeffrey, the Rockies scored 2 runs and loaded the bases, plus the game is in Denver . . . they were “mounting” a comeback, they just didn’t complete it that inning.
September 23rd, 200910:54 pm
I thought knocked off meant winning too. I didn’t realize it meant smashing your opponent into pieces or something.
September 23rd, 200910:55 pm
I think “your and idiot” goes back several years (3, at least, if not more).
I do think people like to break it back in, in the spring, like an old mitt
September 23rd, 200910:56 pm
Knocked off just sounds kinda brutal to me, you know, like losing really badly. JMO
Now here’s something….Loaf with a moustache
September 23rd, 200910:57 pm
Knocked off means beating.
“The Braves knocked off the Mets last night”
He’s smiling too! I really will miss him next season.
September 23rd, 200911:02 pm
Lidge blows another save … tie game in 9th 6-6
Hey what do you know, another blown save for Lidge, go figure.
Braves’ eight-game winning streak against Mets is their longest against them since an 11-gamer bridging the 1982-83 seasons
Freddy gets the boot in Fla-Philly game Philly 6 Fish 6 in 9th Fish have 2 on 2 outs. Fla WINS!!!!!!!!!!!
September 23rd, 200911:03 pm
He’s half smiling. Kind of got a Mona Lisa going on.
And another loss for Lidge, oh well, at least the Bravos won.
September 23rd, 200911:04 pm
haha, now he’s the 0-8 Brad Lidge
just image is the Braves trotted him out there in every save situation … yeesh
Lidge blows another one! The Phils are in big trouble come the postseason.
Steve from OH
So, I was wondering what this bingo thing was about until I saw if on the Facebook page tonight. Hilarious.
I’d guess that everyone gets B5 and O5, and nobody gets I2. In fact, I don’t think I2 has ever been filled.

September 23rd, 200911:05 pm
A win over this shell of a mets team isn’t what it used to be, folks. However, a win keeps us in the race and with the Fathers leading the Rocks through 5 1/2, the Braves might even gain a little ground in their chase for the postseason. I wouldn’t have expected the Pads to fare so well with Marquis on the mound, but then again, I’m also not about to look a gift horse in the mouth either.
Personally, I am glad Bobby gets to ride off into the sunset the way he wants to and the way many feel he deserves to, including me.
Great win tonight with the only downers being Prado’s injury during BP and Chipper’s tight back. Braves have to play well in the Beltway this weekend in a ball park where they’ve struggled since it opened last year. With the Cards playing in Denver and sending Carpenter and Wainwright out to the hill on Friday and Saturday, the Braves realistically have a golden opportunity to gain ground.
I don’t have the bingo card in front of me but I’m assuming I2 is PL using quotes correctly?
September 23rd, 200911:06 pm
Wow, Lidge is now 0-8 with an ERA over 7.
They’re going to the playoffs, but the back end of that bullpen is shaky to say the least.
Indeed it is, Soph.
September 23rd, 200911:07 pm
Oh yeah, Lidge makes $12 million a year.
Always a good idea to pay big bucks for a closer.
Gotta start a poll for funniest blog moment of 2009.sorta like the poll question on the Braves page.
My favorite is still from denizen New Cars and his dog and gun story with Met Man chiming in that if the blog gets rid of him he hopes it isn’t New Cars that does it. Maybe I have a warped sense of humor but that was funny.
Carry on…….no wait, rock on.
Loaf looks like he just finished a joint in that picture.
Yes it is, Soph.
Some of these can’t happen on most games. Like Chip overreacting, KK pitching 7+ innings, or Lowe getting sweaty after 3 pitches
September 23rd, 200911:09 pm
So far this year we are 10-8 vs the Phils, 4-2 against the Dodgers and Cards, 7-8 against the Fish, 4-4 against the ROX and 3-4 against the Giants. Too bad we play down to the bad teams.
Yeah, or Kelly starting. I mean he had to physically knock Marteen out of the game to get in there.
September 23rd, 200911:11 pm
That’s why I was excited….it was my first time playing and right off the bat I already had one.
I was in and out all game, though. I only got 3
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
