Jurrjens4NLCY, oh please, when I watch SNL today it’s torcher. I like Will Ferrell, Sandler, Farley, but the cast now just doesn’t tickle my funny bone. And there’s not ONE MadTV sketch you’ve ever laughed at? You ain’t human, son.
We offer this public service for those fans of tennis star Melanie Oudin: If you’re coming to the game tomorrow, she’s throwing out the first pitch, and before she does, the 17-year-old from Marietta will be signing autographs in the Fan Plaza from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Jurrjens4NLCY, yes it was. I don’t know what it is now but they had some very funny sketches on there. Like I said, I used to love SNL through the 90’s, but it turned to garbage these last few years.
When the Braves lose this game because of that loafing aging bum Jones, I hope someone in Atlanta will have the balls to call a fade a fade. I am disgusted to see him in the lineup!
I’d bench those loafers for a month and fine them too – there are two rules in baseball – keep it in front of you, and run it out. I don’t mind losing but lack of effort is maddening. P*ss on Escobar.
I understand benching Esco for not hustling on that play, but don’t know if I’d do it mid-game, considering he is the only consistant hitter on our entire team and we’re trying to be Happ tonight.
Punishing Escobar for that is a real DONK move. Way to hurt our team; groundball pitcher out there and Infante being the king of suck defensively at SS.
The week-end Andruw was confused/upset/hurt/somber about being claimed on waivers, he lolly-gagged for 3 days in Cincy . . . then, his offense began a slow, putrid decline that continued well beyond his days in Atlanta.
The dude never saw the bench until Bobby sat him his last 3 games in a Braves uni (@ Houston), right after the Braves were eliminated from the NL East race.
“I’d bench those loafers for a month and fine them too – there are two rules in baseball – keep it in front of you, and run it out. I don’t mind losing but lack of effort is maddening. P*ss on Escobar.”
Yeah because no one else in the league or in this lineup fails to bust it every now and then. I’m not saying Esco was right, but he is probably one of only almost the majority of the league who doesn’t run hard all the time. The reason its mentioned about Diaz so much is because honestly, he seems to be the only guy on this team to do it all the time. Not the time when your team is on a roll to decide to bench the guy now. 1st mistake since June. I question the move if it is for that and not injury.
Scott, point about Prado and Diaz is they hussle every play, something Esco needs to learn to do. I like him and root for him, but he has to hold his end of the bargain and be a professional ot make professional money.
Seriously. Bobby doesn’t care if they win or lose tonight. Dont’ give me the “he’s trying to teach him something more important than this one game” speech. That is BS and you know it.
Not entirely clear yet whether he pulled Escobar for not running out of the box hard, or if he didn’t run out of box because he was hurting and that’s why he came out. But I haven’t seen trainers tending to him on the bench, for what that’s worth.
80% of players would not have sprinted to first on that YUNEl groundout. God knows CHIPPER NEVER runs those out, yet Bobby never gets on him? That’s total BS, and Cox has lost his freakin mind. Pull Yunel in a playoff race to punish him for something that only he gets punished for? Perhaps if Cox hadn’t cost the Braves two games against the Red Sox by playing DIORY Hernadez over Esco after the official scoring incident, then the WC lead would be less than 4.5 games on Sep 18th.
Judy and I have tickets to the game tomorrow, and we are looking forward to seeing young Ms Oudin.
Whatever is going on with Yunie, Bobby will get through to him … eventually, perhaps. But I feel his glove and timely hitting makes him our team MVP, and he has too much talent (especially relative to cost) to let go.
Not a Cox fan but….I don’t think it’s TOO hard to figure out why he doesn’t care for Esco’s style of play…I’d hate to have to put with him all year long myself
