“THen putting in Logan and Acosta instead of EOF and Soriano.”

Gonzo is hurt and EOF worked two straight days. Third day probably would have meant not as much control. Logan for a lefty looked like the only choice. Not saying Bobby is perfect. Just saying the lefty situation was a little shaky to begin the game. I unlike most posters don’t fall into one of the two categories where you either hate Bobby or love him. I take it the way I see it, he’s not God but he ain’t satan either.

Jake – maybe EOF should not have been used in the bigger wins over the Muts and just used in the 6-5 game. Cox wastes pitchers in blow out games then they are not available when you need them.

As in bringing in the bottom of the bullpen in a must-win game.

So let me get this right, Bobby is right when he decides to bench Esco for something that everyone on this team outside of Matt Diaz does but he is wrong when he uses EOF and others in the bullpen because it obvious you can’t trust anyone else outside of the people named Gonzo, Soriano, EOF, and Moylan. You related to Bobby because you may not agree with him this time but your mode of thinking is just like him. Two peas in a pod.

I have always been a Cox supporter, but this year he has changed my mind. He has lost it and is now hurting this team instead of helping. He no longer knows how to properly motivate players and our lack of top talent makes his misuse of the bullpen and poor in game decisions debilitating.

Money off the board next year:

Hudson 15.5M
Soriano 6.35M
Gonzalez 3.45M
Kotchman 2.885M – his $ and not Laroche are being paid now
Anderson 2.5M
Norton 800k – there’s no way! Right?
K.Johnson 2.825

That’s $34,310,000 off the books.
I don’t know what built in raises are coming up but here’s a guess for replacements.

Replace with:
Konerko 12M (the following yr, Freeman 400k)
Figgins 9M (3 yrs, 27M)
Kevin Gregg RP 2.5M?
Gonzalez or Joe Beimel or Scott Eyre
Heyward 400k

Other FA decent bullpen options:
Will Ohman (again)
Chad Cordero (can he be healthy again?)
Chad Bradford
Gary Majewski

nice try to get a personal shot in there Jake. I said that Escobar deserves to be disciplined but I disagreed with benching him in this game because it punishes the team in addition to Escobar (and that it adds to Wren’s decisions in the offseason if Escobar’s attitude has become that bad).

I also said that Cox was wrong to use EOF, Soriano, etc in games where the Braves are well ahead – such as a 7-3 win or other blow outs because it could keep them from being available when they are needed the most.

That is nothing similar to your attempted slam and misstatements above.

If the only way you can make arguments is trying to slam someone personally, you need to work on your debating skills
