Hello? Someone just informed us of a miracle at turner field. They said Brooks Conrad flied out. I don’t believe it. Can someone confirm before we send our people to the scene at this late hour?
Attention to whoever the hell is the audio engineer for the Peachtree TV broadcasts.
Limiting, Compression and Leveling are your friends! Use them sometimes! Geez!
I’m not talking about when the feed from Peachtree goes to CSS and the commercials blast you into next week or even the next commercial when you wonder if the audio on your TV has cut out….
I’m talking about when Joe and Chip are talking in conversational tones and you increase the volume on the TV to hear what they say…. then a ball is put into play and Chip screams into the microphone and rattles the china! Geez Mr. Engineer….. your job is to send a managable signal out from your broadcast and into my home whose wavelength doesn’t look like the peaks and valleys of a rollercoaster.
Yes it’s a Peachtree problem because the Sportsouth and Fox broadcasts don’t suffer from the same audio malpractice. And Yes, this has been going on all season, not just tonight. I’m ranting tonight because it would be nice for them to figure this out before the entire season is gone!
i think i see why the red sox win so many games.. their fans apparently extend to the umpire crew. nick green actually struck out twice before walking in the tying run in the bottom of the 9th.
On a serious note…Was nice to see that KJ, with all his struggles at the plate…STILL… took a 3-1 cripple pitch fastball… right down Peachtree…when leading off the inning a while ago…99% of the Braves woulda swung at that one…and probably nobody… except an astute baseball fan….would have even noticed. I promise you KJ would have preferred to have swung at that “cripple’ EXCEPT for the fact he was trying to play winning baseball.. And yes…before you ask…IF you are trying to win this game…you SHOULD take that 3-1 pitch leading off the inning in that situation.
Looking a couple of things up…
Loaf’s contract is for $2.5 million this year. Don’t know for how long. It’s less than what Ryan Church makes and twice as much as what Matt Diaz is earning. Loaf made $12M last year for the Angels.
So, for $2.5 million, are the Braves getting their money’s worth from the 37-year-old left fielder? Should they dig deep and sign a younger, more productive outfielder, Jason Bay, perhaps? I say maybe to the first and most definitely to the second question.
Bobby’s asleep! Yunel got hit by a pitch and I’m sure Lowe sweated 3 gallons before he delivered the 3rd pitch of the game. This would’ve been a great night for bingo.
Oh no no I get it. You’re totally right! Kelly Johnson. Greatest mediocre player alive! I’m on board, yes sir. I’m even in that one poster from out in L.A.
Actually…The Roach…. is currently the ONLY player on the Braves…that should swing at a 3-1 pitch in that situation….and EVEN that is debatable….anybody else is an obvious no-brainer to NOT swing….ASSUMING …you are actually trying to win the game…
Tonight ESPN classic reaired the Top 5 Reasons You Can’t Blame Booby the Idiot for the Braves not winning more World Series. Although they shockingly made some decent points (e.g., Lonnie Smith, Mark Wohlers), they missed the big picture, of course, that Booby managed in the playoffs like it was a 162-game marathon, not a 7-game sprint. That is because, of course, he is a moron.

I do…but it was a lefty pitching, and he hasn’t exactly dazzled at the plate tonight…he did hit that double, though, which was good. But 2 swinging K’s? Gyah…I up to here (hand over head) in K’s…fed up with them. Can’t take any more of them…70 is plenty…
I gotta put my Lovey to bed…and he’s in the computer room, so that means the computer goes off…
But…Cox’s “overuse” of Gonzo has not affected his pitching. I know this is true because AJC writer Jeff Schultz wrote it. And he is a personal friend of a certain HOF manager. So it must be true.
