Bobby Cox is like a old worm out boxer, he just doesn’t have it anymore, but refuses to face the fact that no matter how hard he may try’s, he’s hurting the team chances to win a pennant, in the way he goes about running the team. He has used and still is using poor judgment on many occasion this year, he has a on going war with the umpires, doesn’t help the team. Bobby, puts the game on the line when, he plays players who are hurt, like in Chippers case, just because he’s Chipper Jones, knowing that the man is on a down fall, and, has more aches and pains, then carter has liver pills, and he can’t help himself let along help the team. When Cox has a winning line-up, the next game, he changes it, he can’t leave well enough along. The Braves love to get rid of their up and coming young players for worse and aging players, who do nothing more then make health insurance to higher. The owner said that Bobby was his man, and Bobby is acting like it. One thing that would help Bobby win more game, is to leave his nose along and pay more attention to the game.

This bunch of Braves is a massively flawed team. Very brittle bunch, i.e. Chipper, Escobar, Infante, Prado, McLouth, Church, and even Anderson earlier in the year. McCann is beat up and down. Norton is DOA. They put themselves into position to make a serious run and immediately ALL the key players except LaRoche and Diaz (who is not really a key player) went into a terrible funk. They need a Pirate-Marlin style overhaul; otherwise, they will tread water for years. Good news is the GM already got that message re: the starting pitching. There’s hope, but WHY isn’t Heyward taking swings that count? Where was Conrad when Norton was striking out all those times? Why is one of Lowe/Vazquez still a Brave instead of having another bat in the middle of the lineup? Why is Chipper not wearing a Red Sox or Rangers uniform?

The Braves suck. Chipper is old. McCann needs hair plugs. Lowe has frosted flakes hair. Take Houston with Oswalt -1.5 and under since we can’t score with ourselves.

It was just once that series because Maddux pitched just once. But I believe it was against the Marlins, or maybe the Yankees, Cox did the same thing. In fact Maddux was roughed up in the 1st inning, and when the Braves batted Javy was sent in immediately to PH for whomever it was catching, leaving the Braves with no backup catcher (other than Keith Lockhart I believe) for the rest of the game.
Ill try and find out the details of what game and series it was.
