He certainly would have crafted a much more entertaining dialogue

Yeah I copied that directly from his old post. I happened to think it was just as good the 2nd time around.

Lentz is more nocturnal, like a vampire. Any chance that someone, somewhere drove a stake through his heart? (JeffR)

Yes, I believe Jim Wolfe did.

Obviously BMac is being compared of a HOF catcher but he has the tools to be one himself.

I think it is time for Mac to hire a full time Personal Trainer and nutritionist to get him the right foods and it would be absolutely fantastic if he could tell CJ to forget the Buck Commander fantasy and get prepared to play in 2010 together.

From Stark's ESPN chat...

cary (mason)

What kind of miracle is it going to take for the braves to sneak into the post season?

Jayson Stark (1:18 PM)

I don't think it would take a miracle at all. But it will take a seriously hot finish. When you're four out with 28 to play, that doesn't seem like a miraculous mountain to climb. But when you're fighting three other teams, it means the Braves probably can't afford to lose more than six or seven more games the rest of the year. I'm going to say 91 wins will get you a wild-card slot. So the Braves would have to go 21-7 to get there. Not out of the question with their pitching.

Why the Braves will NEVER win another WS or anything of consequence as long as Bobby Cox is still managing the team:

“He’s been hitting some balls really good,” Cox said, referring to Norton’s single off reliever Matt Lindstrom on Tuesday night. “That kid [Wednesday] night has got great stuff, but you don’t know where it’s going. He made two great pitches on [Norton]. He would have made anybody look funny.”

Norton has only six pinch-hit RBIs this year and only 10 hits overall. When it was pointed out that Norton’s batting average wasn’t good, Cox said, “No, but he’s hit some balls good, but he’s still productive.”

Still productive? Really? With a BA short of a buck-fifty? Norton's paid to produce, and productivity is not taking a couple of good cuts and sitting down again. Face it: Cox may have once been great, but like most stars in major league sports (athletes or management), his best days are long gone and he doesn't know when to quit...he's the Brett Favre of managers. This is why we have presidential elections every 4 years...to prevent the emergence of an oppressive dictatorship. Fight the (lack of) Power...Cox has got to go!

VLADIMIR GUERRERO,

Would anyone want to see him in RF next year?

ORLANDO HUDSON,

Like him at 2nd base? (Prado's had a great year but I'm not sure he can handle a full year as the starter)

These two are free agents. Considering what the Braves are lacking, these players could provide an instant upgrade in speed and power.

Will Liberty Media spend the dough or do they even have the dough?
