This game’s attendance kind of reminds me of that game I went to a couple of weeks ago when the Braves played that makeup game against the snakes.

You could hear the players belching…well….almost….

Choppinmama, people don’t like Chipper outside of Atlanta, and us Braves fans of course, but they have never liked him. He was pretty arrogant when he was younger, but so was/is Jeter and many others and they LOVE those guys. It’s something I can’t figure out and probably never will.

wow the attendance there is awful and of course the braves are losing to a team that has the lowest payroll in the majors… Bozo the clown is our fat fearless leader bobby cox. diaz leads off and we quickly give them out # 1 . first of all thats totally stupid. and second. i dont care if mccann needs a day off NOT when this series means everything, and the braves look pathetic. I will not be surprised the marlins put us out of the race. this lineup is a joke. we have players who are hurt taking up roster spots. just dont see it happenin this year folks. not with cox at the top. and Johnson has 5 k’s already. thru 4 innings.. just awful. way to leave the bats in atlanta.. braves lose 3 of 4 my prediction. no fire and too many excuses .. im tired whaaaaa mommy i want my bottle.

Ok, Carroll has deservedly “b–ch slapped me” and the others who obsessed about Norton. I love this team, haven’t completely given up, but the numbers don’t lie about our chances. So…can we agree that our pitching is stellar (5 decent starters, some decent mid-inning guys, and two very good closers. Ok, we’re cookin’ with grease, you’re with me…so,…we got no speed (McClouth, yeah, but where’s he been, where’s he now)after McClouth – none! Agreed. Also, lack of speed has killed us? (no, you say, gees, wasn’t it a week ago, Loaf died an autumn leaf waiting for a wind on third base, without a saint or sinner to bring his slow azz home? yeah, I knew you’d remember. So-we need some speed. We need better defense at 3B. Chipper’s .933 won’t cut it. Personally, at 37 having played very hard for years, BC needed to give me more time off, but didn’t. He slumped, and his prayer “feets don’t fail me now” went unanswered. Loaf is liability. Class, can you repeat this: LOAF….! Do we have adequate position players yes, we even have exceptional ones, a few: Kotchman was, LaRoche is. Do we have all-star caliber, no – but it is a factor and should be (see, McClouth, good move). Moving on to power…ok folks I hear the bell…will talk tomorrow…O class, don’t forget to be positive, and be nice to Bobby and the team, let ‘em know you’re behind them. Don’t forget: DON’T BLOW UP THIS TEAM… more speed, more power, CJ rests, Norton goes (sorrrrrry, Carroll!).

Roman Gal at 7:11 – you are so right about the salary cap! The last time the owners tried to impose one, baseball lost a season. This is the “54/40 or fight”, “give me liberty or give me death” of the union.
My question to you is this: should the owners hang tough knowing that the union will absolutely not cave in, and a strike would last more than one season only to have the president (which ever a Republican president would eventually do, too) appoint first, a baseball czar (we seem to like “czar” don’t we, has an imperial ring to, even if they don’t win drug wars, ecomomic wars, trade wars…but, I digressed) then, when the baseball czar fails (as they all do, being creatures of the executive, with no budget, no power), the president appoints a mediator, and the rabble finding rope for the few, turn the tide against ownership.

Now, I understand, as a southern boy does, that I poked a stick into the hornets nest. So Carroll needs to impose MARTIAL BLOG LAW (a la’ Cesar Chavez) and FORBID discussion of this issue.

Hey, I really and truly am a 63 year old man who followed this team since a year after they moved to Milwaukee. I swear I could ace a test on the 50/60’s teams and pass one on the 70’s, before I lost a decade to decadence.

Lets see, Marlins have their number 1 on the mound, a guy who has turned into a bona fide ace. Braves have a guy whos been there number 5 for most the year. I don’t know, coming into the series if I had to pick a team that had advantage each game I would say the marlins have a big one this game. They are winning 1-0. If it was reversed and it was the braves number 1 vs the marlins number 5 you would be mad that the braves didn’t have more than one run facing a teams worst starter while your ace is pitching a gem.

Chipper Jones is a joke. He is toast. He cant field, he cant throw, and now that he cant take steriods anymore, he cant hit for average or hit for power. He is a prime example of a player that bulked up, and then stopped taking steriods and his body feel apart. He is worse than Mark Mcguire his last couple of years. This guy gets hurt everytime he walks fast, and his swing is pathetic now, if he ever does swing. So good job Wren, for signing another over the hill superstar to a hug contract, when u could have traded him before he stopped taking the juice and gotten something for him. Hey u can always make him a manager, he sits by cox enough as it is, cause he never plays. And one last thing, maybe management could grow some balls and get rid of cox, but that would mean the braves would have to do without the best pinch hitter cox has ever seen in Norton, and the best AAA player on the roster in kelly johnson. OPPSSSSS!! Chipper just took a 3rd strike with his heavy bat on his weak shoulders.
