When are the tax ramifications thing over with anyway? How much longer are the Braves under the tight purse strings of Liberty Media?
And, when the time for the Braves to be sold comes, will someone like Arthur Blank make another play to buy them?

Shamus – then you explain it…… They are a media outlet, Braves on TV anywhere like they were before? Tied into XM other than the MLB deal? To make money off a pro team you Market (see yankees) None of that is happening, they are just biding their time till they can sell, The Braves were a byproduct of a stock deal, not the focus.

McFann: Glad you explained Turtle’s latest pose. I was thinking EVEN HE was getting tired of watching the Spotlight on McCann during every rain delay over the past week. I don’t mind, ’cause that’s the only way I get to see all the highlight shows. And I could look at that photo of him and Smoltz every day.
He sure does look relaxed to me. Both of you can sit back and enjoy the game tonight since you’re not worried about line-up position (who cares who’s batting 4th tonight?), throw- downs, steals or (horrors!!) bunts. I’d be mighty tickled to see him in a pinch-hit situation late, though.

He was also name-calling most of the blog’s regular bloggers.
He had a melt-down, of sorts, that day.

Yah…I loved the part about him getting called up, making his debut, and then “leading the way” for Smoltz’s first complete game since returning to the starting roll. Woulda been so cool if BMac coulda caught Smoltz’s final game ever…

CaliChopper, I think they’re interested in making as much money as possible while they DO own the team. To not do so would be dereliction of duty by those in charge. The job of those running any division of a company is to produce as much profit as possible. To sit back and say, “well, the parent company doesn’t care if we lose money,” is not the way professional, ambitious, executives, operate… I like you Cali, but I disagree with you, and you ain’t gonna change my mind. lol

Little late getting this b*tch out, but…….HAD to go to son-in-law’s b’day party Sat. night even though we left early so I could see the end of the game. Got home and they were spotlighting Brian McCann again (and something about that always brings tears for some reason) so I knew they were in a rain delay. Announcers came back on and said……it’s still raining here in Philly, thought this game would have been called by now…..and switched back to the McCann spotlight. I thought……could they not have given the score?????? Everyone on here was fussing about Don Sutton not giving the score enough the other day. Being a FAN-atic, of course I kept watching until they came back on and said the Braves had won 9-1, but…..still!!!!! An earlier announcement of the score would’ve been nice (even though I STILL would’ve been watching…..just in case.)
