Bite your tongue! How in the world could a guy in the HOF have anything insightful to say? Especially a racist (eyes REALLY rolling) like Joe Morgan?

Gov Clinton Tyree…….Kelly Johnson went 5 for 6 when he first came back from the DL. Since then, he’s gone 4 for 36 with 3 errors in the field.

In other words, combined, he’s 9 for 42 for a .214 average…..the same .214 he was batting before he was put on the DL.

It was so funny to see the board light up after his first couple of games back from the DL. If I had a dollar for every posting that ripped me for how “wrong” I was about Kelly, I could afford to compensate the Braves for releasing Greg Norton early (wishful thinking).

Uh, those same bloggers have been “kind of quiet”.

Geez, a man who doesn’t like football or baseball? That’s about as strange as Anders posing himself as a quintessential New Yorker even though he ain’t a fan of the Knicks, the Giants, or the Jets, doesn’t have a college basketball team, and doesn’t root for Notre Dame or a Big 10 team or one of the three powerhouse college football programs in Florida. Tells me Anders likely wasn’t raised in a borough, and is therefore not likely a real New Yorker. Maybe just a herb from the burbs who wishes he was a New Yorker

OK, Paul, Smoltz was 2-11 the first half in 1991, 11-1 the second half. My point wasn’t Kelly Johnson, it’s that Bobby’s patience cuts both ways. It’s frustrating but ultimately it gives good results.

“Vazquez.

Vazquez. Hmmm. I’m about a run off of my 4-ish ERA that I predicted for him. Which I’ve admitted for 2 months…..

(GASP!!!! Joe Morgan just said Chipper was safe???? World must be ending, huh?)

But my main “gripe” with Vazquez has ALWAYS been that we didn’t need him and we needed another bat instead.

Braves are 14-12 in his 26 starts, despite his stellar ERA. Which tells me that had Wren added a big bat (you know… to affect the OTHER 113 games?), the TEAM would have been better off.

So, while my personal “prediction” for Vazquez’s averageness (ERA) is off. He’s still barely a .500 pitcher and the team is 2 games over .500 in his 26 starts.

Next.

cabravesfan – he does. He’s that way about 68 Camaros and I support that. One of the most romantic things he ever did was back in the 90s when the Bravos were still at the old Atl-Ful Co stadium. Must have been 1992 or 1993. He got tickets to a game from a girl he worked with and took me to a Sunday afternoon game. I got to see David Justice, who at the time was my favorite Brave, hit a homer. And, if I remember, the Braves won.
