Meanwhile, Diaz is 0 for 2 so far tonight. He’s in a slump. He’s on pace to go 0 for his next 100. Time to bench Diaz and “get Kelly going”.

When the ESPN Stooges credit the Braves with their “2nd half offensive turnaround”….they do realize that the turnaround happened with players (Prado, Diaz, Escobar, etc.) that Cox either refused to play, or tried to bench in the first half….they do know that, right?

In addition, since July 23 (the date Kelly came off the DL), Martin has a .292 OBP and a .371 SLG, albeit in 2x as many plate appearances. So take it for what it’s worth.

What will ESPN haters gripe about tonight? I’ve watched the first and third inning tonight, and heard NOTHING but praise from Miller and Morgan about JJJ?
Then again, what do they know? They’re idiots, right? Since it’s JJJ though, I’m guessing that even the haters think they’re both dead on tonight (eyes rolling).

We don’t have a complete game because Bobby never gives pitchers a chance for one. If a pitcher threw 8 shutout innings, Bobby would put Soriano in the the 9th every time.

You guys that bash on Miller and Morgan, must not have access to TBS anymore, or Mets broadcasts, huh? Ron Darling is frickin’ horrible. The grating sound of his voice makes me wish that John Sterling was back on TBS on Sundays Yikes.
Listen (or read). I don’t have a problem with people who don’t like the style of Miller or Morgan. Everybody is entitled to their opinion of who they want to listen to. My gripe is with the people that complain when they “gush” over the Braves opponants, and not the Braves.
Can’t be said tonight. They’re lovin them some JJJ.

MiaBchBravesFan…………I like to keep reminding those on here that the reason why offense struggled so long during the 1st half of the season was because of Bobby’s refusal to bench the bottom 3rd of the line-up.
Frank Wren pretty much forced Bobby’s hand when he traded for Nate McLouth in early June as far as sending Schafer down. When that trade went down, Prado should have replaced Kelly and Diaz should have replaced Francoeur. Instead we basically gave away games in June with 2 easy outs stalling rally after rally.
My “let’s get Kelly going by giving him some at-bats” posting is just my way of doing what I can to make sure that you guys dont forget that Bobby Cox should shoulder some of the blame for the first half slump. It’s his mentality when it comes to “his guys” (Greg Norton anyone), that helped contribute the Braves taking so long to start playing decent ball.
I feel that the Braves are in the race DESPITE Bobby Cox being the manager. Sure, it looks like Bobby was right by sticking by Peter Moylan. However he was totally wrong about Kelly Johnson, Greg Norton, Jeff Francoeur, and Jeff Bennett.
1 out of 5 isnt so hot.

You mean Chase Utley and Ryan Howard of the defending WS Champion Phillies (who are currently walking away with the NL East)? I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that from 1991 to 2005, you didn’t gripe ONE BIT when they drooled over Glavine, Maddux, Smoltz, Chipper, McGriff, Andruw (do I need to keep going?)
If you’re an equal opportunity griper of the gushiness (all you have to do is tell me that you are), and you can honestly say that it used to bother you when they talked about how great Maddux and Co. were, I’ll let you win this argument.
