come on Mac, big hit big hit!
Rob from SC
Madson is dumb for throwing a changeup there
What is prado doing standing at 2B?
WOW! – even a blind dawg finds a bone once in a while.
He…what…are you serious? Chipper Jones got a clutch hit? WOW!
Prado had to hold up.
Gov Clinton Tyree
Thank you Chipper
I called this. Just sayin.
WOWWWWWWWWWWW just WOWWWWWWWWW that was lucky as hell for US!
Damn. I was hoping Manuel would go nuts and leave him in. lol
Let’s go MAC!!!
It’s time for your boy to do work here.
Sorry……..he was a dead duck if he tried something different.
August 30th, 200910:10 pm
come on Mac! get another in…and then Loaf can make up for his ‘error’
yes… anyone but Park… he had the Braves clueless… LETS GO BRAVES!! GA you’re next for atonement…
Prado held up as it approached him…I presume he is only at 2nd? I didn’t see.
LOL this game finally got fun!
Can “The Most Interesting Man in the World” play CF? Third?
lol curtis – i caught that lance berkman thing and was like wtf is he talking about? I didn’t know he meant the ump. LOL
Ok who was coaching third and what did they do with Snitker?
Gotta give props to Steve Philips for pointing out that he was doing Chipper a favor by going to the offspeed stuf, and then on the next pitch, he hits a changeup to RF for a BH.
THAT is insight that is appreciated.
McCann is up and he has struggled tonight. I just hope he doesn’t GIDP.
bunt em over Mac…
Why would go with a change up to him when there is no way he can get around on a fast ball. Makes no sense. Thanks for being dumb $#@#$ Phillies!
You could clearly see Prado pull his hand back towards his body to avoid contact with the runner. You have to catch that ball – even if it hurts. Prado was sent down for his final time last year for backing away from a McCann throw at second. BC sent him down after the game for letting a ball that was fading back towards the runner go into the outfield. That along with his reluctance to stay in front of hard hit balls is why I have never backed him as the starter.

typical Braves choking TIME …ill call it! McCann DP and then LOAF strikeout swinging
Would be a good time for Mac to bunt.
I heart Frank Sinatra. Damn whoever sold one of his best to a damn credit card commercial.
Can McCann hit this guy at all?
If not, bunt em over, cleanup. Bunt em over.
you guys might disagree but mccann has to bunt here!
Steve from OH
Rob–yes it would. Lots of runs saved with the glove right there…
For a hit, that is.
come on Mac….hit on in the gap!
August 30th, 200910:12 pm
Agreed on Steve’s analysis of the Chipper AB.
F U Chase… u dont know anything… TAKE EM DEEP MAC!!!
I would also make MC bunt them over.
i hate to say this but maybe bunting mccann here aint so bad
yeah keylargo, Prado should totally have risked injury on an almost certain safe-call. Braves havent had any trouble with starter injuries this year at all.
Positive vibes Blog…Mac is due!!!
We have a lot of haters on here. Especially the ones that like to predict things yet to happen.
Way to take that first pitch Mac.
If not………..DP could makes all of us cry like babies.
keep talking joe…jinx that fat fillies pitcher
August 30th, 200910:13 pm
You boi has got to bail out my boi!
Mac not looking good here so far
damn mac…come on!
You Know Who
RHR – love the Francis Albert sentiment
KL–yeah, Prado should’ve caught that basd on the camera angle I saw, but it was a tough play for both parties. As a 3B, you know that throw is going to tail toward the runner every single time. Bad throw, bad reception, bad result. Each should get a 1/2 error.
ugh Mac is just wiffing at everything. come on man.
Get that fat @ss out the cleanup spot already!
Well. That was sort of insane.
What the hell was that? What is Prado doing?
I think Mac is second behind Escobar in double plays
WTF happened there?
When was the last time McCann walked?
He is awful.
August 30th, 200910:14 pm
LOL – that was sad.
At least Chipper is old…
Jon Miller just busted a nut calling that play and I thought Chip was bad.
Now ESPN is back on a sucking Philly-pop mode…they’re happy!
Great gushing by Miller. Lucky play.
Damn, we almost saw another TRIPLE PLAY
Got to bunt there
that hurts… just a good play by rollins and a poor plate appearance from mcann.
lets go Loaf, pick Mac up here.
Great play by Rollins. I’m sure the ESPN haters won’t agree, but that was a heads up play.
What is Prado doing?
He was running to third — where he was supposed to.
Tough break. Because Mac did knock the CRAP out of that — a lot harder than Chipper’s hit.
WHY IS LAROCHE NOT BATTING CLEANUP???? damn! come on loaf! make up for your error!
What a way to kill a rally.
I would have died if that had been a triple play.
Can we sign a cleanup guy? Doesnt have to be a HR hitter. just a guy who can hit in cleanup.
mac hasn’t looked good in this series, not at all. He should be happy when they play florida
N8, I get what you’re saying, we definately would have been a better offense with someone like Ibanez or Abreu or someone that Wren could have traded for but I still maintain that how much better would it have been if we still had to rely on the struggling trio that was Frenchy/KJ/Schafer. Not to mention the struggles that Jojo Reyes who can’t seem to figure it out and Kris Medlen who doesn’t quite strike you as putting together the type of numbers that JJ or Hanson have given you in their rookie campaigns. Besides Medlen has been a big part of our bullpen right now. With Campillo hurt and Carlyle who fills his spot. I just don’t think at the end of the day it would have made that big of a difference in our record. Maybe slighty better in the short term but I think what it afforded us long term with Tommy Hanson outweighs that. Not to mention the options we now have with either dealing Vazquez for something or freeing up money by declining Hudson’s option.
August 30th, 200910:15 pm
So would McFann.
Thats why you bunt Mc…………….
McCann suck! Jk.
F F FFFFF FFF!!!!!!!!
dont bash miller, it was good/smart play by rollins. hands down. yunel would have gone to first on that same play 100 out of 100 times…
Calledd ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTT LOL
Kurdt, Prado had to run.
I wish we had a good black guy on the team.
Prado’s made two bad baserunning plays this inning. Not good at all.
August 30th, 200910:16 pm
Come on Loafy, you can do it!
McCann has done nothing for 2 months.
Bad luck by Mac there, had to hit it right at the guy, whatever they still have Lidge.
Look at may last Comment!!! This braves are in another planet in choking in this type of situations!!!
cabravesfan – sorry, but it’s not the vodka’s fault (maybe the wine…)
Why is this on ESPN??
Guys. Mac CRUSHED that ball.
Morgan is right. Three feet to the left or right and the game is tied and there’s still nobody out.
Just bad luck.
It looked to me like Prado would have made it back to 2nd if he would have busted it back as soon as Rollins threw to third. I could be wrong though.
Come on Loaf, hit it out, and make it null and void.
Phillies fans think EVERY pitch is a strike. No matter HOW outside it is.
