I’ve forgotten the name of the stadium up there. The Vet was easy to remember. What is it? Something like Kill Or Be Killed Park? I’d like to look it up on radar…
Yes, I’d agree Lee is due for a bad game. Actually, way overdue. But teams have probably been saying that for his past few starts, right? I mean, that’s a pretty incredible run.
There’s a flood watch, and rain probably 30-min from park. Appears it’ll be around a while once it hits. Really does look ugly. With weather, you never really know, but the news right now ain’t good.
I’ve seen a number of people make fun of Schafer’s ears tonight. However, no one has come to “his rescue”. Athletes are targets for heckling.Paul Lentz
If you’re going to have a Cy Young and an MVP for the entirety of a league, maybe the same should apply to rookies (yes, I know one can win both). It’s hard to picture Hanson or Andrew McCutchen not getting hardware. J.A. Happ deserves an honorable mention as well, but Hanson is the top rookie.
It’s good to see the home-run ball back in Atlanta. There for a while we were seeing only about one every other game. Now it’s more like two per game.
By “a while”, I mean a year, by the way.
If I were Atlanta, I’d be wary of the high fastball on two strikes; I’ve noticed that pitch seems to be used a lot lately in that situation.
On a different note, has anyone gotten a chance to watch much of the Falcons in preseason? I watched five minutes of the Rams game and none of the Lions game. I have concerns about Grady Jackson’s departure but am cautiously optimistic that our defense isn’t as bad as it looked initially.
Great timing with the SQUEEZE reference for me. I played “Hourglass” for one of my kids about a week ago (I heard it on the Sirius New Wave station) and she memorized the chorus after hearing it once. Not exactly classic Squeeze, but good song and good video.
Can’t see the game tonight, and we also have flood warnings. A toad-strangler going on as I type, so no XM while holed up in the car. Gotta’ jilt you for my other favorite team – the REDSKINS. With those regular sized ears on the Spider Monkey head and the way his mouth hangs open all the time, if you put some overalls on him and gave him a Banjo, he could be an extra in Deliverance couldn’t he?

I think its called “Citizen’s Bank Park” or “The Bank”.
Based on its size they should probably call it “The ATM vestibule” though.

Wow, somebody’s talking about me. Cool.
My question for you people: ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?
Of course, I’m referring to the touchdown the Braves are going to put on Pedro in the first inning. And maybe even an extra point.
I said it yesterday, the Braves are going to kick the Phillies @$$es this weekend.
I’m not saying they’re going to sweep but I will make one prediction, I’m willing to bet no money whatsoever that we score 20 runs in this series.
Believe it.
