Probably not, Efrim. It won’t hold unless he starts making more contact.
According to fangraphs, he’s either walked or struck out 45% of the time. On top of that, about 30%(!) of his hits are HR, and another 20% are doubles.

Flashback to game 3 of the season. Moylan comes in, gets no one out, 4 earned runs.
Well, he did get the last out of the 6th. However, he’ll need Gonzo to pull a Houdini in order for his ERA to not go up.
Actually, it’s my fault that Moylan SUCKED tonight. I should have kept calling him a BUM and he would have pitched to prove me wrong. It figures on a night that I give him props, he ends up SUCKING.

I guess I can’t argue with changing pitchers after three consecutive singles but Bobby, please don’t plow through the bullpen as you are want to do.
Gonzo, just give him something to hit. We don’t need any damn walks or hit batters. A run for an out.
I don’t care about the past. It’s not gonna happen again.
Just give your players a chance to make a play.

What do you think of Garrett Jones from Pittsburg and how he has been brought along. He’s 28 I think and came up in 07 for 80 ab’s and did not come back up until 09. He is tearing it up now for the Pirates.

no dude think what you wish, I’m not talking about what some friend said, I’m talking about what I experienced working there.I have no idea what your A-AAA, AA-MLB googoo means because very few players do either.
Just go look at the player’s stats at BaseballReference.com and see how few don’t play AAA ball.
And you still haven’t told me just how many of the Sox players skipped AAA and played well in MLB. I can tell you it mas next to none without even looking. Go look it up yourself unless you’re just too scared to see
How many Braves players have jumped from AA to MLB and been successful over the last 15 years? The answer right there ought to be instructive to you.

Seriously. I know he likes acting like a rattle snake when he starts an inning, but Mike Gonzalez is TWICE the pitcher out of the stretch that he is in the windup. It’s not close.

Mitchell……..this is a MUST WIN GAME. It it takes him blowing through the bullpen to win this game, then so be it. No use in saving guys for tomorrow if we blow this game today.
Earlier in the season, you let Moylan try and pitch his way out of it. But we dug ourselves too much of a hole to “save pitchers for tomorrow”.
The last person I want to see is Buddy Carlyle, especially in this ballpark. Due is guarantee to give up at least 2 bombs against this line-up.
Meanwhile if Gonzo gets this last out without giving up a run. Moylan needs to buy Gonzo a keg tonight for saving his ERA.
Moylan comes in tonight, gives up 3 hits in only 1/3 of an inning tonight……and his ERA actually goes down. Kind of like how he blew the last game of the San Francisco series where he SUCKED and his ERA went down.

nolie–his OBP is around .350 or so last I checked. He is really a “three true outcomes” guy. (STEVE)
