Rope a double Matty!
Steve from OH
Besides, a lot of good prospects play thru AAA. Off the top of my head–Buster Posey, Brian Matusz, Jake Arrieta, Chris Tillman, Matt Weiters, Travis Snider, Hanson, Medlen, David Price, Wade Davis, Jeremy Hellickson, Andrew McCutchen, etc., etc.
Hakuna Matata(Wait 'Til next year)
Guys..dont get too excited…you now have to bank on Lowe not giving everything right back.
Chipper, are you taking notes?
Chipper is more worried about G-Anderson embarrassing him by hitting more jacks this year.
For those keeping score 15 vs. 12.
I’m going to have to throw Matty under the bus again if he doesn’t get a hit.
August 29th, 20098:40 pm
I assume you that was not me… I only impersonate other teams fans…
anderson’s homer would have been off the wall in atlanta? i dont think so buddy…
Don’t go knockin’ Benji
Well, he’s no light hittin’ Phillip Brittion, but it’s a start.
Britton just got released. I shouldn’t joke…
Why would anyone ever throw Anderson a fastball? It is amazing how quick his bat still rips the zone. I would throw him soft stuff away all day long but a single fastball.
Look at Diaz!!
August 29th, 20098:41 pm
Matty, stay hot!
COME ON BABY!!! MATTTTTTY
August 29th, 2009
You can…but you’d be wrong….doesn’t matter with that HR!!!! Damn. This guy is smokin’ hot.
Matty D is on fire!
MattE just cannot miss right now
You have GOT to be kidding me. Seven consecutive multi-hit games for Diaz.
Cliff Lee hasn’t been knocked around like this in a while….
Forget the double Matty, show ‘em the long ball.
I’m about ready to write a big long post but I just have to say, THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!
Mitchell, I guess you will not throw Diaz under the bus.
I am quite secure in my heterosexuality. But I think I love me some Matt Diaz right about now.
he’s just stupid right now… !! F U PHILLY…!!! good job Matt… GA…
August 29th, 20098:42 pm
Don’t stop Braves.
Ya know, a platoon in left next year doesn’t sound all that bad……
What is Bobby Cox doing? What is taking him so freaking long to bench Matt Diaz? Doenst he know that Kelly Johnson “needs some at-bats”? Sickening.
Matty D is not hot, he is supernova!!!
Diaz now hitting .398 vs. lefties. Yeah, that’s normal.
Chipper, that’s how you hit the ball out of the park.
August 29th, 20098:43 pm
Come on Lowe he needs to have a 1,2,3 inning. Would be huge. Lets go D Lowe earn your 15 mil. CHOP CHOP!!!
Steve from OH, yeah, I like his reports. Ha he written anything on Hoover or Randall Delgado?
bravesman…….that ball hit by Garret doesnt travel like that in Atlanta. He hit it hard, but it would have hit the wall at Turner Field. The ball jumps off the bat way better in Philly than in Atlanta.
August 29th, 20098:44 pm
If there is a God, Bobby will leave Diaz in the leadoff spot for the rest of the season.
Benji is the best!
Did you actually see the pictures, Steve, or were you asking if I posted them?
I’d say Diaz is a lot stronger than he looks. It takes serious muscle to take a high pitch like that out the other way. I’m lovin that strength right about now.
nothing to be ashamed about….i too have a major man crush on matt!
DOB, Amen to that brudda!
Are we sure this Diaz fellow can’t be an every day player? He sure is hitting RH pitching well lately and he CRUSHES LHs.
By the way Short porch in Right – Bravos 2 Phillies 0. Utleys leaves any park. Nice to gets some breaks in this ballpark.
N Nine (Norton 2010)
Hey, you said he was due for one of these….
August 29th, 20098:45 pm
I hope that Bobby has the bullpen on alert. We can’t afford to give the momentum back. Lowe can quickly give those runs back. I hope not, but history has shown……
See, I was ready to and then he does that and forces me to reschedule my bus push rant.
Stay tuned for it though.
“What is Bobby Cox doing? What is taking him so freaking long to bench Matt Diaz? Doenst he know that Kelly Johnson “needs some at-bats”? Sickening” -Lentz
What is that, the 10th time you’ve posted that the last few days? Please shut up.
August 29th, 20098:46 pm
Diaz came into August hitting .288 he is now hitting .327. Are you kidding me? 40 points in one month. He is the man. Player of the month in NL i sure as heck hope so.
Very relieved LaRoche is out because another awkward turn might put him out for the season. Smart to get him out of there.
Why didn’t Norton sub in for Rochy? Man, where is the love??????????
August 29th, 20098:47 pm
siap but padres now lead the marlins 3-2 in the bot of the 6th. no runners on for florida with one out and uggla up…
I just cant understand why Matt Diaz is still playing. Bobby Cox benched him when he was 13 for 26 so Jeff Francoeur could “get some at-bats”. Now that Diaz is 23 for 44, it is essential that he goes back to the bench so we can get Kelly Johnson going by “giving him some at-bats”.
Dont you guys agree with me? Bobby is screwing up big time by not benching Diaz.
Yes, just about what I expected in this game. What was the line anyway, Braves by 5?
interesting that our LF combination, basically GA and Matt have done quite well … lead the team in HR and RBIs
Whoa. Wha’d I miss? Rewind time.
Loaf and Diaz…..nice job boys!
Mid Town Joe
August 29th, 20098:49 pm
Nova Scotia Steve @ 4 PM Nice prognostication!
August 29th, 20098:51 pm
DOB, I had them at 3 runs or more…
Lentz just keep bringing that up every night and maybe it will turn funny eventually
DOB – This game is why although I am a sports nut I dont bet on Sports. I would have bet the ranch on Philly tonight with this pitching match up. Although the game is not over I would never have guess we would rough up Lee. Basbeball – You never know.
I think if you look in to the fact that we’ve damn near owned Philly this year, we’re all giving them too much credit. Think if they keep the ball away from Utley and in on Howard then we take these next two games. They obviously know how to handle Rollins/Victorino.
SoonerBrave……..I was just being funny with the “bench Diaz so Kelly can get some at-bats” postings.
If you cant see the humor in that, then you either havent been following the Braves close enough to understand where that posting comes from……..or you are too sensitive to understand it.
Trust me, I’m glad that Diaz is playing. Back in May I was advocating for the Braves to bench Francoeur and make Diaz the everyday right fielder. I love what Diaz brings to the table.
Yet many on here said “Diaz isnt an everyday player. Replacing Francoeur with him wont make a difference so there is no need to even make a change”.
Diaz may take some wild swings and not play the greatest defense……but he absolutely rakes at the plate when he is in a groove.
August 29th, 20098:52 pm
DOB get the CHOP going!!
No, I don’t think so, but I think he did something on Dimaster and DeVall (but I think he saw DeVall while he was hurting).
Must be nice D-Lowe…
August 29th, 20098:53 pm
Minor tonight at Rome: 4 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, no walks, 4 Ks.
I agree walk both of them every at bat….at least if there is anyone on base!
August 29th, 20098:54 pm
What happened with the switch? Why?
Anyone know exactly when DeVall had his Tommy John surgery?
August 29th, 20098:55 pm
Paul Lentz (August 29th, 2009 8:34 pm): “Yet I’m totally off base when I say that this team “mentally takes nights off” offensively.”
Yes, you are.
But you should be used to that by now.
Can Chipper Jones be any worst?
August 29th, 20098:56 pm
McCann is on fire!
This is just the third time Lee has allowed more than four runs in a start this season.
In his past eight starts, he had allowed more than one earned run just once (when he allowed two earned in seven innings at Seattle).
In memmory of Ted Kennedy (this is his introducing Sammy Sooser and Mike McGuire):
AAAAAHHGGG!!! Why didn’t you swing at that?? DANGIT!!
I am so freaking tired of the letter K!!!!
good defense, falcons
August 29th, 20098:57 pm
The Falcons better score a lot of points this year. Their defense looks bad. 14-7 Chargers.
…and the number .287 or anything below it…
August 29th, 20098:58 pm
Feast or famine offense…. feast tonight, famine last night.
The last good switch hitter the Braves had?……
No amount runs are enough in this ballpark. Keep scoring.
Guy was due to get knocked around. Glad we could be the ones to do it!
Thank you Yunel.
Keep it comin’.
August 29th, 20098:59 pm
Solo homer, two run and three run – need a grand slam for the homer cycle
Food for thought….
Move our current 5,6,7th batter to the 3,4 5th spot and move our 3,4,5th batter to 5,6,7th spot.
Great job esco!
Day-yum. Three dingers off Lee.
Gotta keep it going, though, especially against that lineup in that bandbox.
Good sign that Yunel might be getting hot again, the team could sure use it.
The Braves need to win this game.
Last night, Pedro, Moyer and Lidge shut us down. Tonight against Cliff Lee, we make him look like the BUMS that we should have rocked last night.
Jeckel and Hyde. That is what our offense is.
August 29th, 20099:00 pm
Keep the cheap homers coming!
Norton wants a piece of Mr. Lee.
Loaf owns Cliff Lee.
5 K’s in his last 5 games, 3 in his last 2…and the night is still young!
2 more and he matches his total from last year…
Waytago, Garret! Keep it up!
and my Loafy Loaf too.
AndyC Yes, you are correct. Defense looked bad on that drive.
