DOB, we know. When you pitch Utley down and in or Howard middle/high away, those things tend to happen. Very disappointing to see the Braves don’t make a game plane going into games against this team’s better hitters. Unbelievable.

On the other hand … Mr. Jones could stand a day off or two. It’s hard not to put him in the lineup, but at this rate, there must be an alternative, right? Not to put Chipper in the lineup everyday in the thick of a playoff race sounds like heresy on the surface, but he’s gotta get a break. Soon.

Why is Gorecki and Norton on this team. Or rather why do they ever get to leave the bench? Same old S–t. 2nd and third with less than two outs and not score.

Jim

August 29th, 2009
7:58 pm

Infante is 8-20 career against Lee, and Bobby started Gorecki. Methinks Bobby has lost it – having too many “senior moments” this season. FW is two or three standard deviations ahead of Bobby. B’s need to get GM and Manager in sync in off-season. Not sure any of the usual suspects (present coaches, etc.) is a good substitute for BC.

fastasballs

August 29th, 2009

All Gorecki had to do was hit a ground ball, but instead he’s tryng to hit it to Pittsburgh. Too many times in the past week or so the Braves have failed in the same situation, runner on third less than 2 outs. It’s tough enough to win games, but nearly impossible when they fail to execute.

NORRIS

The Braves have no intention of doing anything to try and win. They are content to see whatever happens to happen. They could bring up one of the phenoms from the minors and they just wont do it for money reasons. Instead we bring up Gorecki who has allowed runners to remain in scoring position time after time. He has no business in the majors. We have two automatic outs at the bottom of the lineup. Now on further, why isnt infante in the outfield instead of Gorecki? The guy hasnt played in months so a night off cant be the reason. He should have been in there. A ground out would have made this 1 to 1. when you are playing cliff lee you may be lucky to get 3 runs. we just left runners on second and third with one out. I just think the braves are in the coast it out mode. They dont really care if they make the playoffs. they are already thinking of next year.
so i guess we should too. UGA plays saturday week. Its time for football.

Yeah, they’re getting ready to go to the playoffs. There’s a reason AAA is AAA and AA is a lower level. Sure, there are a lot of top prospects in AA, but there are a ton of “fillers” there, too. Spending a little bit of time in AAA isn’t going to hurt Heyward if the Braves decide to go that route.

No a play off team. A playoff team does not score 1 run in 12 innings against SD the other night. A play off team does not give up 4-8 outs a game when playing big ganes. A play off team puts its best team on the field every nigh and BC does not do that.

Chipper is hitting .236 since June 9th. Any chance he gets moved out of the 3 hole this year. The answer to that question sums up whats wrong with BC as a manager.
