Come on Matty… bunt your way on
Rob from SC

Diaz is on fire
Three doubles for Diaz, who just keeps blazing
I’m hoping that Chipper’s line-out to left means he has gotten his swing back. That swing was one of his best in a while. I’m glad we have the meat of the order coming up in the eighth, and I hope batters remember it’s perfectly okay to take a walk most of the time. One of the best ways to kill an inning is to try to blast a 2-0 pitch when you maybe aren’t seeing the ball so well.
I guess Bud Selig is planning to do absolutely nothing against the umpire who gave Florida’s catcher a fist bump. Never mind the fact that that sort of thing attacks the credibility of the game infinitely more than individuals taking steroids.
why do i suddenly want a pretzel?
When he is on….man…dude is a hitting machine.
Another rally starter
Stay hot MattE.
Anyone else wish they were Cardinals fans?
like OMG this team stinks
they’re under performing their pythagorean record AGAIN this year. that is just some bad managering
no more bunts Matt … you’re doing fine the way you are
I’m going to go out on a limb and say Diaz is no fluke
16 for the last 24? Wow…that is hot.
Loaf Garret on a blackberry from the dugout wants you all to know
That Matty Diaz learned professional hitting from me.
Career-first three-double game for Diaz, who is 8-for-14 in the leadoff spot
I can put up with Matt Deeaz’s Juan Pierre like arm as long as he continues to hit like that
I’m still baffled as to why Matt Diaz hasnt been benched. After all, didnt Bobby bench Diaz earlier this year (despite being in a 13 for 26 stretch) so Jeff Francoeur could “get some at-bats”?
Doesnt Bobby realize that Kelly Johnson also “needs some at-bats”?
Meanwhile, another hit, 3 doubles for tonight. Diaz is absolutely raking. 16 for his last 24. 21 for his last 40. Dude is simply ON FIRE.
August 28th, 200910:55 pm
diaz shoulda bunted
Diaz is crazy!!
Diaz has to be leadoff hitter-move chipper to 5 hole when Nate returns
yall are crazy
Like I care what YOU have to say lol. All I did in the first place was state my opinion, you’re the one who replied to it, so don’t get all mad when I reply back. And for the record (**And His Next Words Are . . . **), I’m a college student, not some old curmudgeon.
I think we can sign Norton for a hometown discount. If Cox uses him in key situation, there most be huge potential. Seattle had no idea what they released last season.
Brandon from Warner Robins
16 for 24 is just about unheard of. Man. Not sure I’ve ever seen a stretch quite like this.
Good hustle Marteeeeeeen! Extra e’s for you.
You have a right to be angry. The Braves never come back in games like this. It sucks.
Prove me wrong Braves.
Good hustle Prado
Good call ump!!
August 28th, 200910:56 pm
Good call UMP! Usually they don’t have the guts for that.
I think Chipper winning that batting title was the worst thing that could’ve happend to the Braves last offseason. People thought, “yeah, he’s older now, but he just won a batting title”. Well, look at him now, declining, and FAST!
Bobby gave Frenchy playing time to trade him
Disgruntled Braves Fan
How much more of this must we take? Thank God the season is almost over. This team had their chance and they failed.
Joe Simpson is a moran
oh lord no, Chipper AB
CHIPPER F****** SUCKS
Chipper tried to kill the inning
Seriously Chipper, sit down!!
Not horrible – at least the run scores and only one out.
lol groundfog, I love Matty but be careful on that limb.
Way to hustle, Marteeeeeen.
At LEAST it wasnt a GIDP…and the run scored. Progress is progress.
Wow! We got an important call, there.
Rally time people!
August 28th, 200910:57 pm
Hey. That’s all we can hope for with Chipper. At least a run scored and only one out was made. Geez.
Chipper givin’ up an out…
Now that was some nice HUSTLE by Prado.
Well, at least Chipper didnt hit into a double play. We got back the run that Moylan gave away in the bottom of the 7th.
Oh well..thanks Braves for almost making it to September being relevant…now on to bigger things and more interesting…like watching Heyward in the AFL..Go Peoria!..
Chipper’s speed on display.
McCann those are balls
Way to knock the cover off the ball Chipper!
if francoeur was still here, make no mistake diaz would be on the bench.
Thats productive Chipper
Wish we didn’t burn Norton, we could have used him this inning.
C’mon Mac we don’t need an 0-fer
uh-oh guys, i just realized that lentz was WRONG on the amount of runs Medlen would give up and the number of innings he would pitch. I think that puts his batting average below 99%.
You people sicken me. SLUMPS…heard of them? Or is this your first season to watch baseball without mommy and daddy in the room to explain things to you?
August 28th, 200910:58 pm
Is disrespect the word of the night with Joe & Boog?
Mac with a soggy night
Mac goes yard here
WTF is Chipper laughing at
What was Chipper saying about Frenchy being an automatic out?
Sorry To Say But...
Steve, I forgot to answer your “whom plays….” questions. My answer is that I don’t know. That is why I said explore all options, see what other teams are willing to deal and put together something. To say that id Chipper isn’t playing third (which is frequently the case, or seems like it) that there’s no 0ne else that could play there just doesn’t ring logical to me. I like a GM like Kenny Williams because he doesn’t stand pat and always seems to be able to make moves. Of course he can spend more which helps too.Bottom line is if you never ask other teams and just say “oh it’ll never happen”, then you’ll never know if that was true or not and that is a bad way to run any franchise.
Chipper Jones…the Savior of the Atlanta Braves ..LOL!
The Phillies’ no. 4 hitter takes a slap swing to left and hits into the fifth row. The Braves’ no. 4 hitter actually squares up a pitch pretty well to the opposite field – and it ends up in the middle of the track.
Chipper could obviously care less.

Is Norton considered A or B free agent?
good time for a homer
Come on Escobar, give us the lead baby.
The middle of our lineup is a joke.
I said a few days ago…..I wouldn’t bash Mac………so I won’t.
This dude must have some sick movement on his pitches because Loaf and Mac took some horrific swings there. Wow.
Come on Yunel. Time to keep that hitting streak alive.
We’ll take it. Esco – do somethin.
Good to see Chipper laughing. A sure sign that he hasn’t lost his focus.
Your in a playoff run and your best player is choking-he deserves the heat
Hopefully Escobar and produce here….with a gapper.
August 28th, 200911:00 pm
When was Yunel’s last HR? Lincecum?
Mixxo kept his promise.
C’mon Esco baby!
. . . and it counts for us, too . . .
Rob from SC, he’s got 15 million reasons why he’s laughing.
N Nine……..Norton is consider a Type F free agent.
Honestly, even I don’t know why I keep using Greg Norton.
August 28th, 2009
Is Norton considered A or B free agent?
Dude has reached Z level by now
Escobar seems his timing is off
Escobar goes yard here
ahhh!!! Why won’t the blog let me post? I keep trying to give No More Bobby 2 his comeuppance, but the blog keeps eating it. But of course this will go through.
August 28th, 200911:01 pm
Soph Mixxo kept his promise.
Walk him…please…and let Adam hit a BOMB. Please.
August 28th, 200911:02 pm
Yunel, you gotta hit that.
That’s a strike in any park in the United States, Yunel. No need to start walking to first.
This would be a GREAT TIME for the Braves first grand slam of the year. Hopefully LaRoche will get a hold of one.
a better time for a homer
Good AB Yuni.
Now would be a great time for our first grand slam of the season
Roachy, it’s all you.
My dream bench:
Come on Adam.
Feelin good with LaRoche coming up here.
I wanna see our first GS…right here…right now. Come on Adam… you can do it.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
