Supes, I’m sorry if I have offended you. I guess living with Chipper all these years has qualified you to know what all has gone into his system. Anyway, I stand by my comments, and point out that Manny (a confirmed ‘roids user) doesn’t exhibit any of the bloated signs, either. Face the facts man, Chipper is just a shell of his former playing self; however, he demands the big bucks. And every year he plays fewer games with more trivial injuries. I don’t care if he admits it or not, just don’t make the Braves pay for past performance. Maybe that’s what’s wrong with MLB anyway. Trade his sorry, pious-a** to the AL where he can be a good DL. and we can get some good prospects.
Hopefully Vazquez will have a strong outing tonight. The bullpen could use the rest. After all, the next 3 games are in Philly, where homers will sure be plentiful this weekend.
I don’t know mate, but Agent 99 is bugging me to go to the store with her. Doesn’t she know the Braves just started? Women! What would we do without them?
Not that he’e a bad announcer at all, but Boog is to nerdy for me. Kinda hope he goes off somewhere else next year. Had enough of him and Joe together.
you are not offending me, I can’t stand for people to accuse others without concrete evidence or at least marginal proof of “wrong doing”. You are simply going on what you believe, evidence, facts doesn’t matter to you. I can tell by your arrogant tone in your post.
Sir, I can tell you I know a lot more about the signs of “drug and gear use” than you do…I’ve watched Chipper Jones since his first AB in the major leagues…and his body grew naturally (filled in his frame) in his mid 20’s and he’s been the same weight/size ever since. He’s 6′4 215lbs is what they list him at, and that sounds about right. He never hit more than 44 HR a season, when others who were GEARED UP and were “midgets” compared to Chipper, like a Brady Anderson had 50+HR for the Orioles at one point (clearly drug enduced).
Whatever floats your boat, if you wanna believe Chipper was “geared up” during the “steroid era”, that’s your right. Just don’t come here on the blog and throw that sh*t out here and expect people to stand down b/c you are “the Truth”.
Oh, and one more things…since “gear” actually keeps you stronger and prevents your body from “breaking down” when it should, if Chipper was indeed on gear he wouldn’t be exhibiting the natural decline in production he’s showing right now (due to age and his body not being able to hold up)
The Braves are toast…but then again, this team always was a pretender. Chipper is about out of bullets. Nice career, but pretty much over. The power left about 3 years ago; now the average is sliding. Prado has been terrible since his return. Kelly always is. Infante is lousy. McClouth isn’t an offensive answer. Escobar is slumping. Garret Anderson is a defensive liability, and a poor RBI producer. Can’t run a lick. Too cool for his own good. The Braves are what they are…decent pitching with inconsistent offense. PLUS there are NO clutch hitters on this team. When the game is on the line, this team has NOBODY to step up. They are not playoff bound, nor do they desrve to be.
Who determines which teams “deserve” to go to the playoffs? I mean… the division champs and wild card leaders deserve to go, right? If the Braves make the playoffs, then they deserve it.
Trust me, I have my finger well on the pulse of Lexington. Of course, there are some people that are concerned; but, the UK AD said in the introductory press conference that he contacted the NCAA regarding Calipari and they gave him no reason to not go forward with hiring Calipari.

But, you know what? The investigation was completed, Memphis was found guilty of having an ineligible player on the FF team, they had to vacate wins, but again, Calipari suffered no repercussions.
I guarantee you UK knew exactly what it was getting itself into. Why do you think the AD called the NCAA in the first place? Why do you think the AD bothered to bring it up in the press conference that he contacted the NCAA?
The truth is, Calipari knows how to play right up to the edge of the rules without violating them himself.
I honestly think one of the major reasons that Calipari finds himself in these situations is becuase he successfully recruits the top talent, and as it turns out, the top talent is already surrounded by so many people, it almost becomes unavoidable that someone will get stung. It happens all over the world of college basketball. Even “aw shucks, Roy” had some things come up on his way out of Lawrence.
I’m not saying it’s right, nor that I condone it, I’m just saying that it happens, and despite the fact that Calipari’s teams have now had 2 FF’s vacated, he himself has still not been caught cheating, which runs counter to what you said in your earlier post.
