I hope the boys can stay afloat a few more days. I’m thinking that bringing up some younger guys will give them a shot in the arm on Sept 1. I just hope it’s not too late by then. Next week will most likely tell the story with the back to back series against the Phillies and Marlins.

hey its not over yet guys!! This team can get hot again, Chipper will break out of this slump and have a good last month, Huddy is coming back, McLouth will be back and we can still finish strong and make a push for the WC
We were playing great ball and only gained like 1 gm or somthing in the big stretch, cause the teams ahead of us wernt losing.
Lets see how the Braves look after the Phillies series before we call it quits, i’m fustrated just as much as yall but this team can finish strong

Actually, I have never heard of Bobby Cox referring to himself as a genius. I take it you don’t care for our manager, as I suspect many here don’t. I can understand that some folks think he should have won more World Series in the 1990’s. I lean that way myself.
But, I am inclined to think he is a very good manager. I don’t recall hearing anything said by real baseball people that he is anything but a very good manager. His players seem to love him and he seems to get a lot out of his players.
He might be getting close to retiring? I haven’t heard for sure though.

How’d you know?
That “O” is a turtle…It’s a bit of an involved story, but I found a turtle in the evening os July 8, 2008. The Braves were out West playing the Dodgers that night, so with nothing else going on until 10, I typed up a little 1 paragraph story about the turtle and posted it on the Blog (turned out to be a hit…even DOB liked it!
).
The game started out rather boring, I believe, and after I had already gone to bed, the Braves were needing some runs. One Blogger, Uga-brave, bored with the game, mentioned my turtle. The Braves had a rally. They won the game 9-3 (and BMac hit 2 HR), and people began to call my turtle “Rally McTurtle”.
He’s got his legs inside his shell right now, though–he’s sad about last night’s loss.

Have fun and make sport of me, but just wait until the rest of the names are released from the list of 104 roid users. Larry Jones will be among them as well as several pitchers you have held in esteem. You forget that he did hit with power, as late as 2007. You just don’t forget how to hit, period, but your bat speed slows. Great hitters never experience these dractic declines, but of course you knew that.

Dude Chipper isnt 28 anymore……… he has a ton of lingering minor injuries as well being 37 years old, and not to mention every great hitter goes threw slumps. Your just being ignorant, you wouldnt say anything about Chipper and roids if the Braves were winning and Chipper was still struggling. I prefer the old reruns of Law & Order to all these new shows. All those shows with sexual innuendos are also not very interesting. Friends and Seinfeld come to mind. I don’t allow my kids to watch those shows.

VA Brave, I’m a 40+ year Braves fan, and it’s “you’re” not your. Don’t they teach that in public schools in Virginia? I appreciate your comments about his age; however, is he not being paid to perform now, not just on his past laurels? Why do the Braves have to reward last years’ performance with today’s dollars? And, hasn’t he been reward very generously, excessively, over the past years?

Just filling out my scorecard. Ever notice that other managers,unless someone gets hurt or goes stone cold leave their lineups pretty much alone day after say. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Cox juggles ballplayers when the wind changes. Or,if everything is running smooth,jump in the middle a screw it all up!
