The A Bomb………..As far as I’m concerned, Carlyle has had plenty of “opportunities” to prove that he is worthy of being anything more than a mop up guy.
Just like Greg Norton has proven throughout the whole 2009 season that he sucks as a hitter at this point in his career. How many more pinch hitting “opportunities” do you need to see him get?

Last year his stuff was good, real good. Look up his stats (Jurrjens)
look them up yourself. he was a big help for a while no doubt, and I’m pleased that he was;and I’m very pleased to see him get a chance to come back after his diagnosis since I am diabetic too. Read too much L. Ron Hubbard in my youth I guess,CHOP-But the league caught up to him the last few months-and perhaps the diabetes was affecting him too already-but for whatever reason he did not pitch well at all at the end. Sure appreciate what a help he was, but he was not the best pitcher on the staff all year. ERA 1.55 in the first half and 5.35 in the second.

Lentz I am not saying he is the best pitcher but I trust him more than Acosta. The rosters are about to expand anyways so I doubt he will be given many big situations. It wasn’t like he had horrible rehab numbers. Stop ragging on a dude just because you lost a couple of points in fantasy world.

Chop Chop………..do you really think that some fan didnt heckle Carlyle when he gave up that homer? Then again, judging by the attendance at the game, maybe no one was left to heckle him.
I’ve seen a number of people make fun of Schafer’s ears tonight. However, no one has come to “his rescue”. Athletes are targets for heckling.
Also, Carlyle was ripped for giving up a lot of runs earlier this year. Many on here attributed it to his diabetes. So when he gave up the homer tonight, I chimed in with the “did you forget to take your insulin shot” remark.
It was JUST ONE FREAKING REMARK. It wasnt like I posted 5 paragraphs about it. And besides, dude isnt IMMUNE to some heckling. If he feels like he is, then he is in the WRONG PROFESSION.

The A Bomb…………again, you are missing the point. I dont need to do any research on diabetes. His story is NO DIFFERENT to me than Reid Gorecki, Diory Hernandez, Manny Acosta or Brooks Conrad. What matters is what I feel he is capable of doing for the Braves. And I dont feel that Carlyle can help us win. That is why I dont like him. And as long as he pitches like he did tonight, I’ll continue to rip him.
He sucked in the past in the Majors (his rehab stint in Triple A does nothing to change my mind)…..he sucked tonight……and he’ll probably suck in the future. Diabetes has nothing to do with what I think of him. It’s a non issue to me.
Just like what Smoltz and Glavine did for the Braves in the past had nothing to do with whether I wanted them on the team this year. The distant past is a NON ISSUE, especially when the recent past shows that you SUCK.

Tuesday happens, I am not bothered by Tuesday. We know why Tuesday happened. KK’s shoulder conked out, and the rest unspooled.
With a potential playoff rotation of Vazquez, Jurrjens, Lowe, and Hudson, and the added bonus of Hanson in the bullpen, this is a World Series-caliber pitching staff. This season will be one of the most baseball-tragic seasons in recent Braves’ memory. All this because of four games:
Soriano blows a save against the Marlins.
Soriano blows a save against the Dodgers.
Soriano blows a save against the Phillies.
On Monday, the Braves cannot drive in the winning run from third in the ninth against the Padres.
Those four losses are why the Braves will not make the playoffs this year. Even with their pathetic, crappy, inept hitting, the rotation mentioned above is head and shoulders above any other rotation competing for a playoff spot right now.
Better than the Giants. Better than the Phillies. Better than the Cardinals (even with a born-again John Smoltz). Better than the Rockies. Better than the Marlins. Better than the Dodgers. Better than the Yankees. Better than any other team in the AL.
Choke on that thought, Braves fans. What a freakin’ tragedy! All because the (lack of) brain trust placed ALL of their eggs on a Francoeur comeback basket back in January, and left this platinum pitching staff with this crappy pot metal pile of junk called a lineup.

They’re people before they’re athletes. Barry Bonds is a d-bag, but i don’t wish him ill. I may hope that Matthew Stafford falls flat on his face on the Lions, but I don’t want him dead or whatever.
And I’d rather see Buddy give up a run in blowout game and cost me fantasy points after making a great comeback from diabetes than have him cut and lose his job and livelihood.

Wayne said you sounded like a kid in your post. I asked him how was that different than most of your posts, but he was too stupid to understand what I said. Either one of you could have responded, and now both of you have. I am so thrilled. Now if we could just teach Wayne how to read English and control his temper, something would actually get accomplished here tonight. I don’t hold out much hope for him though.

Well, I think its a big series this weekend. Some guy earlier didn’t. I teased him gently and he told me to bite a shotgun.
Trying to figure out how that’s supposed to be insulting to me, though. People know that I’m not actually Kurt Cobain, right?
