bravefaninok,

We are not the phillies and the phillies are not the muts.

I think have made their statement of what kind of team they are………..Sure nothing is impossible, but I think it would take at least some injuries to 2 or 3 of their key players for that to happen, say, Lee, Utley and Werth……….

AndyC……..Nerves? I am more concerned with his career 5.58 ERA in 244 career innings pitched. I could care less about what kind of story him coming back from diabetes is.

Carlyle gives up 1 homer for every 6 innings pitched. Tonight’s homer was classic Carlyle. Dude is nothing more than a mop up man…….which is exactly what he did tonight…..mop up a 9 run lead.

I don’t have the inclination or the drive that Random does to go back and find your exact comments, but you went a little ape shyt when Bobby pulled JV. You sounded like a little kid who dropped his ice cream cone, and pitched a fit about it.

Buddy needed work. If JV wasn’t going to go 9, then why go 8? No sense at all. He gets paid the exact same for winning, whether it’s 7-8-9 innings. Besides, at this point in the season, better to keep him fresh, especially when you had a couple of guys in the pen who have NOT been overworked.

This was the perfect game to get Buddy back into. If you can’t see that, you aren’t half as smart as I thought you were.

Just sayin’

For those of you who know ANYTHING about diabetes it’s as bad as any disease around.

People don’t live long lives — they go blind, have heart transplants, and lose limbs. Jackie Robinson died at 53. They have to check their blood sugar constantly. Until it effects you or your family you have no idea how bad it is.

Buddy Carlyle — you keep doing it.

Lentz — consider the 5 points you lost not worth a crap. Maybe spend some time studying about how bad diabetes is. Along with the rest of you who are taking pot shots at Buddy. I hope he pitches for the next 10-15 years to beat this thing.

Dude, you twist the facts around to fit your story. You truly don’t know shyt about baseball, do you? Except how to go to the papers and pick out a good lineup for your fantasy team.

So if we are skipping KK on the rotation, that means he can come from the pen from sunday on, that makes our pen so solid, not to mention buddys presence, IMO is an upgrade. KK and Medlen can eat up so many innings I dont think Cox should hesitate ever again (this season) to take any starter early in the game if its clearly not his night (like Lowes and Javys recent outings)

Wayne,

I understand this was the perfect game for Buddy to get back into….

But, Vasquez should have finished the game, it is not like he threw 120 pitches when he left, he threw 88. A shutout is a nice thing for him to have, especially because he should be a 17 – 19 game winner right now.

You guys crucify Kawakami who has an ERA of 4.08. Just because Carlyle is coming back from diabetics does not mean that he “deserves” a spot on a Major League roster. Then again, many people in this country think that just because someone is faithful to their wife….that makes them qualified to be President of the United States of America.

So you guys got the news on Hudson starting Monday and Kawakami being skipped a start in the rotation…First of all, I think the timing of the move speaks to the urgency of their situation and for that, I think y’all should be happy. Hudson said he told the Braves (aka Roger and Bobby) he was ready after his last start in the minors. We’ll see if he’s ready, but not sure what a difference two days make for those who say he’s not ready. He was on schedule to debut on Wednesday either way.

Bobby said yes they considered a six-man rotation and no they will not pitch Kawakami out of the bullpen. And he said yes, Kawakami will start again. But they’ve got flexibility here in five days when rosters expand.

Yes Buddy is up and Acosta is back to Gwinnett. Cox said Acosta threw a ton of pitches and they could use a fresh arm. Acosta will be back in 10 days, Cox said.

They are only concerned about themselves and their families. And to be honest, I dont blame them.

So knowing that, I root for my team to win, because I’m a fan of the team. I like a player for as long as he produces for the team. And the players will tolerate the fans as long as the fans continue to PAY TO SEE THEM PLAY. It’s as simple as that.

It would be a grave mistake to move him to the pen and bobby hasn’t said that he’s going. They are just skipping his turn this one time and we’ll see from there what happens. I guess a lot depends on how Tim Hudson pitches on monday.

I’m in favor of the 6 man rotation for september. Both KK and Hanson need to be protected and get extra rest. KK has pitched in a 6 man rotation all of his life until this year, and this is by far the most innings Tommy Hanson has ever thrown in his life in one year….it makes good sense.
