I bet we see Buddy tonight.
Javy Vazquez is hitting .216 for his career….This is the kind of thing on my mind at the moment.
In case of emergency: Take the elevator! Because Matt Stairs sucks

Whoever this duh dude is, he is trying real hard to misspell words to throw off his true identity. Could it be?????
Warner Robins comes back and takes the lead on California. I got the split screen workin’!!!
Steve from OH
TnBrian–definitely. We’ll do much better replacing Kelly, Frenchy and Schafer’s nonexistent two months of production with McLouth and Prado. We still don’t know if Roachy will come back, and we don’t know if Heyward will open 2010 with the club. Even if he does, I doubt the FO will count on him for anything more than league-average production at best.
I wouldn’t complain at all with a Crawford acquisition though. As long as we don’t sell the farm.
He’s got a club option for 2010 at 10MM, and he’ll be a free agent in 2011.
Boog has himself a healthy man crush on B-Mac.
He really likes that dude.
Really? Are you trying to advocate him batting 8th or something?
August 27th, 20099:37 pm
super jeffrey eh?
AndyC, I like that call on Buddy (if JV ever looks like he wants to come out???)…Bobby is out there now. not to pull Vazquez tho. I think Anderson is out. Gorecki is in center.
Eh, he doesn’t do it as well as I do, Wayne. I’ve much more wit.
Wayne in Utah – don’t say it…..
So you mean I cant complaint? Even if the philllies go on a 5 game skid, it wouldnt matter………they already are East Champions…………dont give me that, anything can happen. They are not the mets………….they have the muscle and now they have much better pitching, case closed, so stop dreaming. We can get the rockies (if our beloved braves stopped playing like a girls softball team), lets hope Buddys and Huddys presence can inject some freshness on the roster.
Now that we have 3 key guys with fresh blood (buddy, Omar and Huddy), I think we shall do even better, but who the hell knows what the hell is up with this guys, they just totally freak out once they get close to the heat of things………..F R U S T R A T I N G…………..
Brandon from Warner Robins
KnightinATL Thank god for split screen.
Raise the jolly roger!!!

With every homer, Adam LaRoche is making Frank Wren look more like a genius.
The McLouth trade definitely upgraded center field for the Braves. Calling Tommy Hanson and letting Tom Glavine go DEFINITELY upgraded the 5th starter position (I know, he’s probably our #3 guy now, but when he was called up, he was expected to be our 5th starter).
Trading Francoeur for Church upgraded the right field position (again, I know that Francoeur has played better for the Mets, however he was SUCKING A$$ for us). Church has played some good right field for us. Also, Matt Diaz has raked as well playing right.
Then he trades for LaRoche. 4 big moves that seriously upgraded the Braves. Also, Omar Infante came back to replace Diory Hernandez………even Peter Moylan has pitched better in the 2nd half.
Yet despite all those improvements………..we are still struggling to make the play-offs. Frank Wren has made numerous moves to improve the Braves.
I blame Bobby cox for this team not playing up to it’s potential. He continues to mismanage games. And he keeps throwing out Greg Norton as our number 1 pinch hitter. Sure, overall we have played “good” in the second half. However this team is capable of playing GREAT baseball. Our starting pitching is the best in baseball. Our bullpen is decent. Our offense has balance.
There has to be a reason why we have this Jeckel and Hyde act going on with our offense. Some nights, the intensity is up. Others it is not. It’s the manager’s job to have a pulse on the team.
Looks like the intensity is definitely up tonight.
There’s no way the Rays let Crawford walk in 2010. They will happily pick up that option.
They Have No Shame
“Yeah, they should promo this weekend series as “Not important, so probably a waste of your time to watch.” That’d bring in the viewers.”
Sure Kurdt excuse them of thinking everyone is an idiot and buying that bull. I never heard Skip or Pete feel they had to build up a series with false implications and they did the play by play for some really bad teams before the glory of the 90’s.
Oh and Kurdt……go bite a shotgun
August 27th, 20099:39 pm
You’re right, it seems like Boog always has a Mac story to tell every game, but they’re usually pretty entertaining
Little? I’ll have you know I’m somewhere in the neighborhood of 5′ 6″, 105 lbs!
Aw! Love it!
He sure does! Bet Boog and I could just talk all day…
Charlie Morton shuts down Phils, I’m saying that because I think Morton is cool, not because I like to post about ex Braves…
What do you folks think it will take to get LaRoche to resign? Who else would be suitors for him?
My thinking is he will need at least 3 years, maybe 4? But folks were signing for less years last winter unless they were the elite players.
Gotta be in the 7-9 million per year range, wouldn’t ya think?
gotta run to grab some grub……
Nice play Infante.
Nice play by Omar there!!
wayne u cuti u, I like utah and the lak but OH steveo sounds lik he has all this dum insid info, Fire OH stevo . i fell down stairs n semi retardid wright now, excus mi spllin
August 27th, 20099:40 pm
Kat(i)e they’re usually pretty entertaining
Yeah they are!
Crack me up…
a catch Loaf would not even think about
LaR has been hitting like a 50HR guy for us this month………8th HR as a brave in a month?
August 27th, 20099:41 pm
“Oh, I’m sorry, Did I break your concentration/” – SAMUEL L. JACKSON, PULP FICTION.
first extra-base hit off Vazquez right there, by my math
If that Gwynn kid is going to be a top play Omar better be too, but of course he probably won’t.
Lucky hit by Douchemanoff.
Oh, I just made fun of him big time.
August 27th, 20099:42 pm
I meant it in the good way………
Nice play Esco.
Don’t be hatin on my boy Omar.
Well yeah you can complain. But it seems like lately the blog has been filled with people who are calling for the season to be over (and who brag that they knew the season was over by the third game).
It’s just getting old. They say “ballgame!” or “season!” and then continue to stay to complain about the Braves.
Keepin the shutout goin – I like it. It’s been a while since we got one of those, hasn’t it?
August 27th, 20099:43 pm
If Bobby takes out Vasquez, Ill be a bobby hater for a while….
A few days ago I was arguing with another blogger about whether the Braves should keep Javy around or Hudson. I went with keeping Javy because of the K’s he piles up. He countered that it would be more economical to resign Husdon and trade JV in order to keep the prospects you’d have to trade to get a hitter. WOOOO… glad I’m not a GM on that one.
My main man, CHARLIE MORTON is tormenting the PHILLIES? Great, there is justice in this world.
Jeffery D. EXCELLENT POST at 942
August 27th, 20099:44 pm
richbrave – nah just horrible uses of that word around here lately
Just messin’ with ya.
Wayne in Utah,
I would give him a 2 year deal right now………..maybe in the neighborhood of those figures you mention. He loves it in atlanta, perfect fit.
Remember the Cards series where the Cards would jog and then make diving catches on routine balls? I don’t like that…
August 27th, 20099:45 pm
Bobby had a weak team for the first 3 months of the season, then the team gets improved by the GM, and has been playing well for 2 months, and it’s Bobby’s fault that the team isn’t higher in the standings???
Give me a break. Please keep the fantasy managing out of the real world of baseball. Some folks know a lot, but they don’t know half what they think they know.
I don’t want to see soriano, moylan or gonzo pitch today, no matter who hasn’t pitched in how many days. Also welcome back Buddy, I have given up on Acosta’s ‘potential’.
Yeah I really like charlie Morton, Imma watch the condensed game of that
With girls………..you never know.
August 27th, 20099:46 pm
Madre Padre = Troll!
What a no show…
KnightInAtl, I take it you’re an insider for the Rays? Lord!
August 27th, 20099:48 pm
Brandon from Warner Robins – how many tournaments did they play to get there?
If you were LaRoche, would you sign for 2 years??? I don’t know if I would. No guarantees that Freeman ever plays regularly in the bigs.
No reason for that derogatory comment, TnBrian.Sorry if my comment bothered ya.
August 27th, 20099:49 pm
Hmm…I hope Randall Delgado didn’t get hurt tonight…threw 3 perfect innings with 5K and was removed after giving up a hit in the 4th.
Mitchell, are you happy today? I haven’t seen you post any profanity.
McCann doesn’t need to catch these last two innings. Let Ross get some work.
kelli haz a cut butt
League,District, State, Regional, WS I believe. I could be wrong.
David..(Athens, AL)………thanks for your 9:25pm posting. As soon as I heard about Hudson being pulled from his rehab start tonight and penciled in to start on Monday, I took some time to think “why”?
As far as we know, none of our starting pitching is hurt. Also, calling on Hudson to replace Kawakami ahead of schedule was puzzling. I seriously doubt that this is indicative of Kawakami’s 6th inning last night.
So, to me the logical conclusion is that something has to be in the works. The timing of it is no coincidence.
Again, as I stated before, what happens after Monday’s game will probably depend on how Tim Hudson pitches on Monday (the last day before a trade can be made where the participants involved are eligible for post season play).
Despite what many of you may believe, a significant trade can be made before Aug. 31st. I’m sure that many teams are aware that making a claim on a player “just to block another team from getting him” can be a costly maneuver. Just ask the White Sox. In this economic climate, its cost prohibited to do that. Teams are more willing to dump a high salaried player on a team who does that.
August 27th, 20099:50 pm
9-5 warner robins
Crucial series this weekend!
Shut-out in tact.
Pirates getting the job done. Thank you Pittsburg. Sorry we had to beat you in the NLCS back in the day. If there was any team or fan base I would want to send in a generation long downward spiral, it wouldn’t be you.
The term bi-polar is thrown around here a lot and perhaps for good reason. They win, we’re happy. They lose, we want a new manager. Okay, so even when they win we want a new manager.
But as pathetic as they were the last two nights and as much as we want half the team to be cut… okay, half the team should be cut… I remain unreasonably optimistic.
I’m not saying anything, I’m not saying we’re going to win the wild card or sweep this weekend, I’m just saying that we are going to kick the @#$% out of the Phillies.
Hear me now, believe me later. The Phillies are in for a beating.
August 27th, 20099:51 pm
Wayne in Utah
I think you may be right on LaRoche. I think he can go elsewhere and get a 3-4 year deal. I don’t think the Braves would be willing to go more than 2 years. We’ll have to see how the off season market shapes up.
Just a question for the true Braves fans here…………….Did anyone think the phils would take the NL east in ‘07 ??? were they down 7 games with 17 to go??
Nothing is impossible……
California little league team is channelling their inner Atlanta Braves. Wow have they fallen apart this inning.
McCann is taking some GREAT swings lately.
Pretty good, but you forgot on HUGE one. Mr. Hyphen himself – Riann Spanjer-Furstenberg
Hah! Can’t forget him…
Well…………you better identify those guys and get to them, cause I have never said, season is over……….Division is out of reach and theres no secret to it. WC race might be over real quick now that Phillies and Fish are next in the schedule, but I still believe.
Be sincere with yourself………..we dont need to do any scoreboard watching and look for the phillies……….that could change if we sweep them………..but only if we sweep them.
Yunel’s walk-up music is terrible…
Brandon from Warner Robins – wow, must be nice, that Cali team played twice that just to get to state
Kenshin Kawa-Kickass deserves a happy ending from someone
August 27th, 20099:52 pm
he just said a bad word
My egg sac is full. Let me know how you like it Paul Lentz when you finish polishing it.
NOOOO!! I want a DOUBLE!! Stupid fielder…
August 27th, 20099:53 pm
Please don’t hit Esco – I don’t want him to snap on you.
Yunel is so dramatic……………… and I LOVE IT
Esco be the man
August 27th, 20099:54 pm
McFann – is he still your Egg MacMuffin?
chilidog McCann is taking some GREAT swings lately.
Yeah, if that nitwit out in left would just pull up about 5 feet from the ball.
CaliChopper, there could be more tournaments that I dont know about. I started keeping up with the team when the entered the southeastern regional tournament.
Its a lot more peaceful on the ole blog when the Bravos are winning.
how dare you be optimistic on this blog, bravefaninok. You obviously don’t think Bobby Cox is the worst manager in history. So obviously you must be and idiot.
August 27th, 20099:55 pm
Come on Reed.
Is it Reed or Reid? Or Ried?
Probably not Ried.
Ok, Im done
don’t look now but we might outscore the Padres this series
Nice hit for Gorky
August 27th, 20099:56 pm
Braves are having Poached Padres for dinner tonight
“Its a lot more peaceful on the ole blog when the Bravos are winning.”
Cause trolls like firetheoldfool and BravesFanInWis only slither out when the Braves are losing.
It’s official, Reid is your man if you want a meaningless hit and rbi in a blow out.
Yeah, he’s still my fave. One little 1-5 won’t change that…just wish he would have gotten some better results. He should be 3-5 with a couple RBI tonight. But, we’re winning, so…
RG–did you see Riaan got Appy league player of the year?
August 27th, 20099:57 pm
404 on that jack from Adam. Beautiful
Yeah. Not sure what the big idea is — taking away a double like that. He couldn’t pull a hamstring right there?
But results aside, McCann has looked a lot more comfortable. Even the ball he popped up to first a few innings ago, he had a GREAT rip at it, was right on it. Just got under it. He just seems to be swinging with more confidence and more authority.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
