The new job I just started shares the same building as Baseball America’s HQ….hell we share the same toilets. Got any questions to pass along?
lol… what is Cabrera doing? Doesn’t he know who’s in our outfield?
Wow. Great throw.
Thanks for not running.
dang, i better change my name if we get one more out.
The Padres are such a bad team, folks. I don’t know how some of you can hunker down like this game (or the next one, or the one after that). Look at Cabrera. What the f*** is he doing?
August 26th, 20097:24 pm
Nice throw Loaf!
like this game is Armageddon*
The rest of that would have helped, but it was kinda cool not finishing the thought.
Come on KK.
They’re still the Padres.

I got a quesion why dey hatin on me?
August 26th, 20097:25 pm
LMAO thats great just sitting there afriad to run on Loaf
GOD!!…Why can’t we show up when playing sorry @ss teams??
good work KK
Way to get out of it KK.
great work from KK…he’s proved alot so far this year.
Way to get out of it KK!
San Diego doing their best Atlanta Braves impression! Thanks!
August 26th, 20097:26 pm
Kawakami, you’re my hero.
Let’s get some runs for our best pitcher.
Nova Scotia Steve
WOW…yup…I did hear the crows…I mean crowd.
This guy is like a monkey playin with hand grenades…but he got outtaf it
this could get ugly fast here…
this is gonna get bad real quick…
the throw wasnt that bad… KK’s glove hit it cutting it off… that changed the trajectory…
well that just shows how bad the padres are…I mean the bases loaded no outs for the middle of your order and you get 3 lazy popouts
great work KK way to get out of that inning staying composed. now we gotta wake the bats up!!! come on Chipper!!! snap out of it!!!
Glad you pitched outta that one, KK!! Would’ve been a bad way to start this one…from behind.
David O’Brien……….I’m with Bobby Cox on this one. He’s totally right in keeping Chipper in the #3 spot in the order. While his production has tapered off, he still is able to draw walks, plus his presence in the order puts stress on the pitcher on the mound.
Not enough emphasis is being put on his presence in the batting order. Teams pitch him carefully, even when he is struggling, because they know he is capable of busting out of his slump at any time.
Some slumps last longer than others. However, until Chipper shows by his play that he isnt able to properly bust out of slumps, I see no problem with Bobby keeping him in the line-up in the #3 spot in the batting order.
August 26th, 20097:27 pm
Based on what I saw in that inning, Everth Cabrera doesn’t have any heart. In fact, I’d say that Headley, Venable, and Kouzmanoff have no heart.
C A B
I would have put in Kelly Johnson. He is the fastest man on the roster with McLouth out. I also think it would have been very close one way or the other, but worth the try for the win.
Vinings Jim- only way to assume that it was gonna be bad quickly with no outs and bases loaded after the first three batters in the game right?
Is it wrong that every time I hear Kawakami I think of Bob Uecker in Major League making the Cowabunga call?
Great comeback by the way by KK.

I ain’t did nothin to em but count dis money and put my team on now my whole click stunnin.
Reason I said that was bsaed on the bases loaded with no outs and KK getting a few unlucky breaks/calls. But I appreciate your humor, or lack thereof.
That last inning for the Padres felt eerily familiar. Like deja vu…no?
Meanwhile, nice going by Kawakami. Escobar’s decision to go to second didnt help his cause. However Kawakami was able to work out of it.
Hopefully we can pounce on this BUM the Padres have on the mound tonight.
ONLY one that couldn’t score from 3B on that throw by Loaf….would be….Loaf

KK gets out of this, Braves make the playoffs
Sure as hell hope you are right sir!
I suppose the fact that they did not run on Loaf means that their announcers, who were describing how bad Loaf plays in the field, must not talk to the players and coaches on the Padres. By now, anyone not aware of Loaf in the field has to be blind.
August 26th, 20097:30 pm
Great start Matt.
Chipper should be in the 3rd spot every night regardless
Cheese (August 26th, 2009 7:26 pm)
well that just shows how bad the padres are…I mean the bases loaded no outs for the middle of your order and you get 3 lazy popouts.
RE: Sounds like a team we all may know…’cept for the 4-6-3 double play…but AT LEAST we normally get one run out of it…
Anybody else watch Garrett Anderson’s Know Your Braves and were surprised when he didn’t say his nickname was “Loaf”? I hear/read him referred to that so much… it was strange to hear him say his nickname was something else. Like his initials, which is not really a nickname.
I didn’t know the guy could smile.
August 26th, 20097:31 pm
that was interesting seeing Cabrera hold up on a throw from Loaf. Have the Padres done any scouting? Good job by KK getting those flies. And alright, Martin!
And when we do get a run with the bases loaded, its usually on a walk.
Roach still batting 7th what a joke. Good work Bobby.
Oh, Chipper! How I miss you so!
There goes the perfect game.
How about a stolen base?
August 26th, 20097:32 pm
RE: Tiger Woods
You missed it…Golf talk was last night…
Unless your sticking around for golf day at Turner Field that’s coming up…SERIOUSLY Golf Day at Turner Field…
moral victory for Chipper!
Alright, Mac, 3-fer here, come on, baby.
Chipper being pitched around once again…… even in his horrible slump!! Come on Mac!!!
pryguy – definitely humor – a good opportunity to enjoy an outcome that, I will admit, i was not expecting
August 26th, 20097:33 pm
Mac yanks it!
MORAL VICTORY WOOT!!!
August 26th, 20097:34 pm
MAC!!!! Thank you, baby
Come on Brian.
haha where are the haters RIGHT NOW
Okay, now BALLGAME.
Crush job. Mac is hitting them a country mile when he hits ‘em these days.
bravesgrl4life called it
boom…….. ballgame …….
i think KK can make that stand up
BMAC hell yeah!!!!!!!!!! he has a decent shot at reaching 100 rbi if he keep swing the big stick
August 26th, 20097:35 pm
Right you are, Kurdt. McFann, could it be I’ve got some mojo for our boy?
That low and in breaking pitch… mac just crushes those.
Braves fan in Nebraska
Nice bomb McCann!
August 26th, 20097:36 pm
Pete………why would Bobby pinch run for McCann in the bottom of the 9th, but not Garret? Given Garret’s ailments, I actually feel that McCann is more a fleet of foot than Garret is at this point of the season.
One bad move can change the course of a game.
I play a lot of no-limit poker tournaments. One can play well for hours and build a nice stack of chips. However, if you misplay one hand, it can cost you the tournament. When you play poker, you have to be focused every single hand. On slip and you could be busted.
I feel that this Braves team loses it’s focus at times.
Meanwhile……………..NICE GOING McCANN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! McCann is falling in love with the 3-run jack.
Even tough Chipper is struggling, the Padres pitched him so carefully that he walked him on 4 pitches. Meanwhile, McCann comes to the plate and gets a hold of one.
I have been adamant on keeping both Chipper and McCann in the #3 and #4 spots in the order.
guy at 7:34- I’m the only ballgame here
Well in the words of Frenchy…..WHAT A RALLY KILLER!!
Best trade idea in the history of trade ideas!
KK for A Gonzalez straight up!
Loaf wants to steal second
good job Loaf keep it going!
That’s my all star!
IT’S THE PADRES, BRAVES!!!
IS IT THAT HARD?
August 26th, 20097:37 pm
Poor Stauffer. I can’t believe they don’t even have a picture of him in their media guide!
Better trade idea: Greg Norton for Albert Pujols straight up.
I love McFann
August 26th, 20097:38 pm
CharlieAlphaBravo…………your 7:06pm posting shows that you havent been paying attention. I have REPEATEDLY stated that Bobby should have used Javier Vazquez to pinch run. I gave my reasons why in previous postings. Please scroll back and look if you want to see my explanation.
so much the mound visit did lol cant even throw a strike lol
left side of the SD infield… solid defensively
YABBA-DABBA-DOO!!!!! Sorry for the delay!! THat was a SWEET swing after looking kinda funny on that foul ball.
That may be…stick around, will ya?
August 26th, 20097:39 pm
McFann, Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the “you don’t make friends with salad” line was from Cheers.
Yunel does that way to much he leads the braves with 15 Dp’s this season
August 26th, 20097:40 pm
Plannin on it sister I do believe that’s twice I’ve asked for a 3-fer and gotten it. I think the first time I got it as a 3-for-3 at bats, but hey, I’m not complainin’.
If Esco hit “behind” somebody like Chipper…he would lead the known universe…in GIDPs…
I like to watch.
And KK did a great job getting outta that jam…so nice that the dude on third didn’t try to score on that second fly-out!
That’s an even 70 RBI for BMac now. 365 for his career.
August 26th, 20097:41 pm
I’ve asked my husband for a jersey for Christmas. It must might have to be McCann’s. Was thinking Hanson, but I might be changing my mind on that.
KK trying to figure out what the 3 is doing on the scoreboard
August 26th, 20097:42 pm
look at grandma’ eating her hotdog… behind home plate…
Eh…I don’t know. I’ve seen like, one episode of Cheers in my entire life…
Good! NOw ask for some doubles! (He needs 18 more…)
Sick of this government
Actually Prado is the thing that happen here. We put Prado in and made him the starting second baseman and brough LaRoach back. The team started to win. Then Prado got hurt, Church got hurt, Anderson got hurt and here you go. Back in the lineup goes Johnson, and some rookie who has no power. We need strong hitters and we just dont have that. Chipper is not the hitter he used to be and he hurts this team now more then helps. I am sick of seeing him go o for and he has done that a lot lately. We have some strength but not enough.
I hope in this off season the braves dump Lowe, and KK and start the season with Hudson, Hanson, Jurrjens, Vazquez and Medlin. Lowe is not a ace and KK is ok but the other guys are better. So trade those two pitchers and get some hitting. We need a outfield and a bench. Norton hitting 150 is not a bench. Good players filled in with trash does not make a good team.
The Loaf flashes some leather !!!!
GA refuses to slide.
The Braves are winning by a score of 3 BTUs to 0. Oh, they’re called runs? But I thought fire won ballgames?
KK did well to get out of the 1st with no damae, but he needs to get into a grove, and pitch 5 – 6 more scoreless innings.
August 26th, 20097:43 pm
I fully expect B-Mac to lead the club in RBI’s this year. I also expect him to lead or be 2nd in HR to LaRoache.
I had brian penciled in for 20+HR, 35+ Doubles and 85+RBI when the season started.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
