Alright bases loaded….the game is over anyway, I want a granny. I want them to be humiliated. If not a granny then a double. Or Manny to walk in a few runs. Come on, lets see how bad it can get. Mwahahahahaha!
Why not, Soph? I’m here to be entertained. I mean, there is no way they’re going to win, so why not just take a good ass kicking by the worst team in baseball? Maybe it will do them some good.
You know what I can’t wait for? This Sunday night, all the homers will be complaining about the “lovefest” that Joe Morgan and Jon Miller will have for the Phils, and not giving the same love to the Braves.
Mark it down. Somebody is going to complain about it.
I remember that 1984 Braves-Padres brawl. That was something. Loved Bob Horner putting on his uni and coming down on the field to fight with his arm in a cast.
“Well, I thought we played pretty well tonite,” thought Norty’s drive might get us back in the game, tough break, we’ll try to get tomorrow and hope Javy throws a solid game for us…. BC in 20 minutes.
Hey Braves70 – is Chipper schedule to lead any hunts in October? His schedule just cleared up for that month so it may be a good time to book a few hunting trips. I’m in for 20K, just got to get some camo.
Well, those announcers, at this point, have every right to drool all over the Phillies and ignore these Braves, who are losing 9-4 to the worst team in baseball I might point out.
The realization has settled in for fans and players. No playoffs . Just look at the dugout, you can tell there deeply disappointed. Guess I’m not suppose to be surprised since Norton’s our key hitter every since rally. Just sad. More ing
No, it’s not just you. I don’t ever root against my team. I DO however, take great comfort in coming on here during these games and listening to all these arm chair general managers who are never, ever going to be satisfied, no matter what. These people complaining about Bobby Cox? They’ll be pining for him after the next manager loses his first game. It’s a joke. I used to come on here to discuss the game and vent myself. Then I realized there is no rational arguing with most of these bloggers. Now I come on here to get some laughs during a bad game at the expense of all the miserable people on here.
“Folks, we’ve all been through slumps in our lives. Days when we were too tired to put forth the effort, when 80% was pushing it. “These people complaining about Bobby Cox? They’ll be pining for him after the next manager loses his first game.”brewdawg
Not a chance in hell my friend. I griped about Marty Shottenheimer in KC as well, after the 6th or 7th season of dominating the regular season and choking in the playoffs year after year. Was happy when he “resigned” and have never ONCE wished he was back coaching my Chiefs.
He too might be in the NFL HOF some day as a coach, but that doesn’t mean he’s the right guy right NOW for the job.
I can’t wait until Bobby is gone, and if the team goes 0-162 in the season after which he is done, it won’t make me wish him to be back.
Just thought I’d clarify that. Don’t dislike the guy. Just don’t want him managing my favorite team anymore (pretty much the same stance I’ve had since about 1998 when Danny Bautista was a “key player” on that playoff roster).
Kindof a rough night and probably the beginning of the end for the season. Well, maybe this will give us more time to see the young prospects perform in September.
Anybody else notice that instead of managing the team via making bullpen decisions BEFORE the game gets out of hand, Bobby seems more interested in finding his lucky spot to stand to bring the team good luck – that’s Hall of Fame managing there boys! What a Joke
yea bobby cox PLEASE. never ever should be voted into the hall of fame.. on what merits. one world series yipppiee.. please his gaffs and mismanagement of games and letting bad teams and awful teams beat this so called team. I guarantee the braves get swept …. frank wren should of fired cox just like gettin rid of smoltz and glavine, acosta, KJ, greg norton etc, hes to blame as well..
Matt Diaz does play the worst RF I have ever seen. His 2 for 3 with a walk is great, but missing a relatively easy ball in RF that started the run scoring.
Also, don’t understand why people play David E so deep, they should be playing with 9 infielders.
I remember earlier in the year when Lentz was complaining about Peter Moylan as the 7th inning guy. He said he would much prefer Boone Logan or Manny Acosta there. *giggles*
Looks like the Braves are going to officially be out of it by the end of the weekend. It would not suprise me if they start a long losing streak. When October comes around, I would like to see some young players playing who are hungrier to win. This team has no personality. They have been very boring to watch and I still spend money going to the games. Am I insane? 18 games that I dedicated my time to support this lousy team. Well, there is always next year. Frank, please continue with the elimination process of getting rid of the HAS-BEEN (CHIPPER,BOBBY,GA,LOWE), NEVER-WILL BE (KJ, NORTON,ACOSTA).
looking at the game right now I have to wonder are we playing in Florida right now? Up in Montreal?
Seriously, is there more than 500 people left at the game? I have not seen such empty seats in the lower level in a long time short of significant rain
If Frank Wren caves in and re-signs Bobby Cox to manage in 2010, then his moves in the off season will go for naught. I would love to see Frank Wren hire a manager who will manage the players that he gives them in a proper way.
I’m just disappointed that Frank Wren couldnt have completely followed through with his vision for this year. Bobby just had to have his way. While sticking with Peter Moylan seems to have paid off (I would have rather seen Moylan start off the year in Triple A)…………sticking with Francoeur, Kelly, Bennett, and Greg Norton cost the Braves dearly.this year.
Meanwhile, the Padres are just teeing off on Braves pitching. The last 4 innings have been brutal. Cruising through 5 innings and then a complete MELTDOWN. This is pathetic.
I know what you mean man. I want them to pour it on us now. Maybe THAT will make something happen in the front office. Not that it would make a hill o’ beans this year, but still……
At the very least, when our next manager- let’s call him Eddie P- no, how about E. Perez- makes a move you disagree with, your comment will be something like ” WTF was he thinking!??? Even sorry old Cox wouldn’t have done THAT!”
My point being, some people will never, ever be satisfied, no matter what. There will always be something to complain about, and even if there really isn’t, they will find something. I’m not being mean or rude, but that’s pretty much the guy you come across to be.

I know what you mean man. I want them to pour it on us now. Maybe THAT will make something happen in the front office. Not that it would make a hill o’ beans this year, but still……

N8,
At the very least, when our next manager- let’s call him Eddie P- no, how about E.

Turn the sound off on your TV and just listen to this music. It’s humorously appropriate
