Alright bases loaded….the game is over anyway, I want a granny. I want them to be humiliated. If not a granny then a double. Or Manny to walk in a few runs. Come on, lets see how bad it can get. Mwahahahahaha!
RHR, you lose all your props for the day!
Damn you and your professional catch, Loaf.
Maybe they’ll have to sit thru a 2 hour rain delay again.

Jurrjens, I think losing 2 of 3, heck, possibly being swept by the Padres automatically makes us NON contenders.
They’re probably the worst defensive LF/RF combo in baseball. Not offensively. But yeah, both of their D has really really hurt us this game.
August 26th, 200910:00 pm
Why not, Soph? I’m here to be entertained. I mean, there is no way they’re going to win, so why not just take a good ass kicking by the worst team in baseball? Maybe it will do them some good.
You know what I can’t wait for? This Sunday night, all the homers will be complaining about the “lovefest” that Joe Morgan and Jon Miller will have for the Phils, and not giving the same love to the Braves.
Mark it down. Somebody is going to complain about it.
“Maybe they’ll have to sit thru a 2 hour rain delay again.”
Really… if the tarps have to come out… you just have to call it. Have mercy.
I remember that 1984 Braves-Padres brawl. That was something. Loved Bob Horner putting on his uni and coming down on the field to fight with his arm in a cast.
August 26th, 200910:01 pm
“Well, I thought we played pretty well tonite,” thought Norty’s drive might get us back in the game, tough break, we’ll try to get tomorrow and hope Javy throws a solid game for us…. BC in 20 minutes.
5.5 back in WC with 36 games left (if LA-COL score holds up). 2010 looks good, only if Chipper and Cox are done.
Hey Braves70 – is Chipper schedule to lead any hunts in October? His schedule just cleared up for that month so it may be a good time to book a few hunting trips. I’m in for 20K, just got to get some camo.
August 26th, 200910:02 pm
CaliChopper They must think the Braves could come back and score runs.
Haha! That’s true…
Still, he didn’t have to do that. I mean, ya know…
Well, those announcers, at this point, have every right to drool all over the Phillies and ignore these Braves, who are losing 9-4 to the worst team in baseball I might point out.
Doesn’t mean I have to like it.
FYI Band of Skulls is $5.99 on itunes.
Nu uh RHR, then all the crazy people on here act even crazier and say extra stupid stuff. I’ll pass.
The realization has settled in for fans and players. No playoffs . Just look at the dugout, you can tell there deeply disappointed. Guess I’m not suppose to be surprised since Norton’s our key hitter every since rally. Just sad. More ing
No, it’s not just you. I don’t ever root against my team. I DO however, take great comfort in coming on here during these games and listening to all these arm chair general managers who are never, ever going to be satisfied, no matter what. These people complaining about Bobby Cox? They’ll be pining for him after the next manager loses his first game. It’s a joke. I used to come on here to discuss the game and vent myself. Then I realized there is no rational arguing with most of these bloggers. Now I come on here to get some laughs during a bad game at the expense of all the miserable people on here.

I’m just looking forward to the offseason so we will no longer see KJ, Norton, GA, Diaz, Church, etc. in a Braves uniform ever again.
“Folks, we’ve all been through slumps in our lives. Days when we were too tired to put forth the effort, when 80% was pushing it. Then there are the crucial days, when others such as our family or friends were counting on us to come through for them. Days that we could truly build ourselves and prove who were were as people. When the opportunity was right there for us. And we decided to bunt with two outs.
“My point is, ladies and gentlemen, that one can never underestimate the power of common sense to keep us from making an a$$ out of ourselves. From making us look incompetent. From making us look retarded. A bad day can turn into a string of bad days, or a string of bad weeks, proving to us, and more importantly, the entire world, that we are not worthy.
“But we cannot let this bring us down too much, for despite all our shortcomings in those crucial situations, despite all of our lack of success in making people want to cheer us on, that we are still going to do well despite the rough economy.
“I hope you do well despite this rough economy, and look forward to seeing you next year when we are given even more golden opportunities that we can fail at. Until then, take of yourself, and each other.
August 26th, 200910:04 pm
Please don’t let us have another 2 hour rain delay. Just call the freakin game.
“Postsesaon hopes take a hit”….. And now?
Chop It Up All-Star
How is that every other contending team manages to fight and claw their way back into games, but the Braves when they fall behind very rarely mount a come back?
August 26th, 200910:05 pm
yeah brewdawg. Its part funny, but also part sad.
And to Hell with Georgia . Speaking of out of control blogs…
lol, what the hell are they doing?
Well …this couldn’t get ANY worse…..( unless it starts rainin’ )
postseason hopes take a $hit
I can’t believe I am saying this, but I believe it’s over.
Tomahawk Choppers – Hey Braves70 – is Chipper schedule to lead any hunts in October?
No Chipper will be on the hunting disabled list for October due to a left oblique injury. He may get Diory Hernandez or even Greg Norton to fill in for him though.
August 26th, 200910:06 pm
“postseason hopes take a $hit”
Was that the rain or the pigsui?
Count de Monet
Why is everyone so bummed its only one game. We still have 36 to go
Joe Thatcher, 21 pitches, every single one of them a slider. Talk about being 1 dimensional.
Oh please. Everyone knows Springer left as soon as he got done singing Take Me Out to the ballgame.
Nu uh RHR, then all the crazy people on here act even crazier and say extra stupid stuff. Don’t you think that’s funny though?
we aint ready for primetime folks, if we cant beat the Padres at home wtf can we expect in the final weeks of the season. Yesterday were the bats, today it was O’flatulence and Acosta who killed us.
August 26th, 200910:07 pm
“These people complaining about Bobby Cox? They’ll be pining for him after the next manager loses his first game.” brewdawg
Not a chance in hell my friend. I griped about Marty Shottenheimer in KC as well, after the 6th or 7th season of dominating the regular season and choking in the playoffs year after year. Was happy when he “resigned” and have never ONCE wished he was back coaching my Chiefs.
He too might be in the NFL HOF some day as a coach, but that doesn’t mean he’s the right guy right NOW for the job.
I can’t wait until Bobby is gone, and if the team goes 0-162 in the season after which he is done, it won’t make me wish him to be back.
Just thought I’d clarify that. Don’t dislike the guy. Just don’t want him managing my favorite team anymore (pretty much the same stance I’ve had since about 1998 when Danny Bautista was a “key player” on that playoff roster).
August 26th, 200910:08 pm
You forgot KK, Mario.
Kindof a rough night and probably the beginning of the end for the season. Well, maybe this will give us more time to see the young prospects perform in September.
Mario, O’Flaherty killed us?? REally?? Who is the one that put all those runners on base in the first place?? I think it was KK, not O’Flaherty
Fair enough, N8.
“Rough night for the Braves”- Boog <- understatement
August 26th, 200910:09 pm
Don’t you think that’s funny though?
Yeah, I have to admit it is funny as hell. Plus, it makes me feel better after games like this. Yesterday night cracked me up.
August 26th, 200910:10 pm
DIAZ goes 2-3 with a BB while raising his average to .316 and you don’t ever want to see him in a BRAVES uni again? What kind of nut job are you?
Anybody else notice that instead of managing the team via making bullpen decisions BEFORE the game gets out of hand, Bobby seems more interested in finding his lucky spot to stand to bring the team good luck – that’s Hall of Fame managing there boys! What a Joke
What does it take to get ride of Manny Acosta and Greg Norton? The guys consistently fail, no reason to still be on the team, none whatsoever.
Greg Norton’s batting average is so low, that it can’t get below .143, no matter what he does it sits at .143, lol.
yea bobby cox PLEASE. never ever should be voted into the hall of fame.. on what merits. one world series yipppiee.. please his gaffs and mismanagement of games and letting bad teams and awful teams beat this so called team. I guarantee the braves get swept …. frank wren should of fired cox just like gettin rid of smoltz and glavine, acosta, KJ, greg norton etc, hes to blame as well..
Maybe Salazar should teach Norton how to pinch hit.
Really, they’re all to blame. KK started the fire. EOF pour gas on it. Acosta crashed the firetruck.
There might be 100 people left in the stands. No sense of urgency to get home.
August 26th, 200910:11 pm
Oh come on! You couldn’t score off that? I want double digits and I want them now.
FANS - STAY AWAY FROM TURNER FIELD
Turned on the game right when EVERYONE behind home plate was getting up and leaving. Then saw the score. What the?
Now can you at least admit it DOB – THIS SEASON IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!
“postseason hopes take a $hit”
Comment of the season!
August 26th, 200910:12 pm
Couldn’t have described it any better. Well said, Kurdt.
Looks like Logan was feeling left out in all the run giving up ‘capades. He wants in on it too.
X Factor is right there to give you what you need, baby.
What a joke.
This game blows, these Padres announcers blow, is the rain blowing are just coming straight down?
Can we get a dozen? Come on pads, you can doooooo it.
Matt Diaz does play the worst RF I have ever seen. His 2 for 3 with a walk is great, but missing a relatively easy ball in RF that started the run scoring.
Also, don’t understand why people play David E so deep, they should be playing with 9 infielders.
lol… okay now its funny.
August 26th, 200910:13 pm
I remember earlier in the year when Lentz was complaining about Peter Moylan as the 7th inning guy. He said he would much prefer Boone Logan or Manny Acosta there. *giggles*
It’s raining on my parade too dammit.
Looks like the Braves are going to officially be out of it by the end of the weekend. It would not suprise me if they start a long losing streak. When October comes around, I would like to see some young players playing who are hungrier to win. This team has no personality. They have been very boring to watch and I still spend money going to the games. Am I insane? 18 games that I dedicated my time to support this lousy team. Well, there is always next year. Frank, please continue with the elimination process of getting rid of the HAS-BEEN (CHIPPER,BOBBY,GA,LOWE), NEVER-WILL BE (KJ, NORTON,ACOSTA).
August 26th, 200910:14 pm
looks like about 100 people left in attendance, you gotta be a true braves fan to sit in the rain and watch the braves play like this
Will Norton ever get a hit again?
Ernest Tubb & Loretta Lynn – Bartender
Did yall see that douchebag Teixeira on Letterman?
Kinda feels good to get beat this bad, like I actually want the Padres to score more, just so this team losing worse.
looking at the game right now I have to wonder are we playing in Florida right now? Up in Montreal?
Seriously, is there more than 500 people left at the game? I have not seen such empty seats in the lower level in a long time short of significant rain
If Frank Wren caves in and re-signs Bobby Cox to manage in 2010, then his moves in the off season will go for naught. I would love to see Frank Wren hire a manager who will manage the players that he gives them in a proper way.
I’m just disappointed that Frank Wren couldnt have completely followed through with his vision for this year. Bobby just had to have his way. While sticking with Peter Moylan seems to have paid off (I would have rather seen Moylan start off the year in Triple A)…………sticking with Francoeur, Kelly, Bennett, and Greg Norton cost the Braves dearly.this year.
Meanwhile, the Padres are just teeing off on Braves pitching. The last 4 innings have been brutal. Cruising through 5 innings and then a complete MELTDOWN. This is pathetic.
August 26th, 200910:15 pm
Alright…I’m switching to George Lopez. Goodnight, everyone
that is including rain
“ALL ABOOOOOOOOAAAAARRRRRDDDDDDD” Sorry, the Playoff Train left the station on Sunday night.
Hey, Jerry Springer’s on George Lopez! Small world
LMAO @ the organist. hahahahahaha
Padres have scored 11, possibly more runs in the past 4 innings, Braves have scored 4 all game, playoffs my ass.
August 26th, 200910:16 pm
Did he say/do something stupid on there RHR?
Pathetic is a good way of describing the last 2 days. Other expressions – nail in the coffin, etc.
You’ve got a bright future Boone Logan.
Oh hey, I bet John Smoltz is watching this game and laughing uncontrollably.
Braves should sign that fan
August 26th, 200910:17 pm
Martin, no extra e’s for you tonight!
Cue the circus music.
LOL really? hahaha
He played funeral music, Soph. Come on yall, its funny.
Troy Aikman? Unreal. Even Boog is muffing them tonight.
Meanwhile, why is Kelly Johnson wearing Martin Prado’s uniform?
RHR – post the link to that circus music again!
Of course O’Flatulence killed us, the inherited runner scored plus he allowed 3 hits and a walk in .1 innings pitched, at least Kawakami pitched 5.1.
as for Logan and Acosta they just stepped on the cadaver
RHR, I thought that too.
August 26th, 200910:18 pm
I bet the clubhouse isnt upbeat anymore, not after the last two games.
Oh no, RHR I heard him play that. I was talking about Teixeira on Letterman?
Turn ouuutttt the liiiights, the party’s oooooo-verr. Chipper, you can go sight in yer deer rifle….
I know what you mean man. I want them to pour it on us now. Maybe THAT will make something happen in the front office. Not that it would make a hill o’ beans this year, but still……
At the very least, when our next manager- let’s call him Eddie P- no, how about E. Perez- makes a move you disagree with, your comment will be something like ” WTF was he thinking!??? Even sorry old Cox wouldn’t have done THAT!”
My point being, some people will never, ever be satisfied, no matter what. There will always be something to complain about, and even if there really isn’t, they will find something. I’m not being mean or rude, but that’s pretty much the guy you come across to be.
kinda reminds me of the “Bad News Bears”
August 26th, 200910:19 pm
Turn the sound off on your TV and just listen to this music. It’s humorously appropriate
12-4 !! Keep it up Pods!
Tough tough night for Mac.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
