DOB (August 26th, 2009 8:55 pm) “So you go dig on Anka. I’ll take a little Gamble-and-Huff Philly soul anytime, i.e. the Intruders, the O’Jays, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes.”

I don’t think nobody here’s “diggin’ on Anka”. (Except maybe TnBrian.

Just sayin’ that “When Will I See You Again?” is just every single bit as sappy as “Havin’ My Baby” — and ever so more so.

Makin’ no other judgments about any other songs by anybody els, for example “the Intruders, the O’Jays, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes” — just them two songs.

They both sappy.

Norton really doesn’t have anywhere near the power he had a year ago. Whether that’s from getting older, losing weight in the offseason, I don’t know.

Paul-

nolie

nolie……….scoring 1 run in 12 innings against a bad pitching staff isnt indicative of a team trying to win every game (Paul L)

that’s just fan emotion talking. I played, coached and scouted and those things happen to teams at all levels. Teams do not think like fans do. They are attempting to win every game, as is the other team too dude. The best team in baseball loses 60 games and every one of them is to a weaker team if they are the best. It is the way baseball was designed. It ain’t like football or basketball where yo have teams with 80 or 90% win rates. The basis of the entire game involves a very high failure rate for all teams.
Now granted a really bad team can get knocked around so much that they more or less get to feeling that they can’t win much of anything, but any reasonably successful team is out there attempting to win every game. 40-50% of the time they aren’t gonna succeed, usually no matter what team they are playing.
All that live or die game to game crap is strictly fan baggage. That’s what fans are all about, after all it comes from fanatic ;)

I wouldn’t expect any other come back than that from you DOB.

After all, you’re the blog-master. When you think somebody is wrong, you rip on them. Yet far too often, within a week or so, you’ve got a blog headlined on stuff the bloggers have been griping about.

Rather than actually converse about the subject, or better yet (GASP) apologize, and say something along the lines of “You know what? It appears you might have been right. Chipper does look lost out there, despite his over all numbers” (which you threw in my face when arguing why he wasn’t “slowing down”).

But no. You tell me to buy a dog, thus avoiding the whole conversation.

It seems like I ask this every game….why the $%@@ is Norton up there in a key pinch hitting spot again????? Does his avg have to drop below .100 for Cox to realize that he can’t hit this year?? CrimeDog………dude, do you really think that I want to see Norton up there pinch hitting “at any time”? I know that we needed a clutch pinch hit here.

However, knowing that Bobby loves going to him, I would rather see Bobby use him in the 6th and get him out of the way……then save him for the 8th or 9th inning.

Meanwhile, I think that Manny Acosta is in danger of getting sent down to the Minors. Acosta has been inconsistent. Just a terrible pitch.
