Going to the 9th….still tied at 1 in COL.
August 24th, 200911:07 pm
Great interview with LaRoche! I love him. I posted this Saturday but for anyone interested in the Buck Commander video series you can see it here: http://www.buckcommander.com/buckmen/
Among the Buckmen featured are Chipper Jones, Adam LaRoche, and Ryan Langerhans.
August 24th, 200911:17 pm
Oh sorry too young
August 24th, 200911:18 pm
I wish the Giants would man up and come up with a big hit just once tonight…
August 24th, 200911:20 pm
giants are awful
or they can just fail again. sheesh
Who gives a frak about Francine’s comments. He’s just bitter that he’s on a team headed toward a downright spiral, while the Braves are finally on the upswing and will be better than the Mets!
The “magic is gone”, well Jeff thank you very much for pointing out the obvious. May I add that you SUCKING it up for 18 months was probably a big reason for it. You sucked the life out of Braves fans, they lost the will to do the “chop” after watching you go 2-25 or whatever the frak it was with the bases loaded in 2008.
Oh how I hope the Mets sign Jeff to a long term deal, to “leach payroll” and give the braves pitchers an easy out 18 games a year besides the opposing pitcher.
Awesome Q/A with Adam LaRoache. The highlight was no doubt the Freedie Freeman question, Roachy’s anwer was pricess! If I were Freeman I’d cut that quote and put it in my locker as motivation (just kidding everyone, chill)
August 24th, 200911:22 pm
Passing the Giants doesn’t seem like much of a problem, huh? They have been offensively inept several times this year…including tonight.
August 24th, 200911:26 pm
what do you know? A leadoff walk…
For those of you wondering whether Boog will be back in Atlanta to do the Braves game tomorrow. There is a recent invention that you might have heard of, called an airplane. Something tells me he’ll board one and make it back to Atlanta in plenty of time for the game.
August 24th, 200911:28 pm
RANDOM: agree with your 9:02 and thanks for having the guts to post it. I’ve thought that several times after CR or DOB say something like “look at our actual Braves page”. Shoot, I go there and I don’t see half the stuff they’re talking about, pretty lame actually. It always seems like it’s old stuff or things that have been discussed already. Just so CR or DOB know this and don’t come with a snippy blog-o-tude.
August 24th, 200911:32 pm
DOB, What do you think the chances are of the Braves putting Lowe in the bullpen with the return of Hudson? He has experience there, and right now, he is the weak link in the rotation. I say “right now” meaning Lowe is perfectly capable of becoming a very good starter at any moment. Personally, I feel as though they haven’t, and won’t, think about it.
August 24th, 200911:33 pm
Things are getting dicey for Giants.
I’ll predict game winner by Clint Barmes and hope I’m wrong.
August 24th, 200911:35 pm
I don’t think LaCucaRoche was playing the A-hole with that Freeman answer, I mean he was gone for 3 years, how many players keep up with the progress of prospects of their former teams?
Glad to be wrong
going to extras in COL.
August 24th, 200911:36 pm
Wilson can deal
btw a dandy over there at Coors, how different games are now than they were back in the Mile High days
Now these are the die hard braves fans
August 24th, 200911:41 pm
Mike Minor threw three scoreless innings for Rome tonight…
Hah! I didn’t even realize he was supposed to start tonight when we went. So I’ve seen his first two professional starts! I have to admit that I’ve been impressed with him and Milligan. Obviously it just took my very presence for Milli to snap out of his little funk. He just needed to hear the sound of my voice because he’s been hittin’ the ball hard ever since he did. What can I say? I’m a good-luck charm!
August 24th, 200911:42 pm
Will we get Bill Hahn as an ump again. I want to make a wario poster marios evil brother wearing a marlins hat.
August 24th, 200911:43 pm
August 24th, 200911:45 pm
With the news of Santana’s supposed injury, the Mets 2009 campaign has officially matched the Braves 2008 campaign!
Congrats, Mets Fans!!
August 24th, 200911:48 pm
Bad play from the Giants 2B….
winning run at second! Lets go Rockies!!
Welp. Not looking good again
August 24th, 200911:49 pm
August 24th, 2009
Surely you jest….
August 24th, 200911:51 pm
LETS GO ROCKIES! Clap Clap ClapClapClap!
Steve from OH
August 24th, 200911:52 pm
In fairness, it’s hard not to be impressed with someone hitting .360…
August 24th, 200911:53 pm
Whew…. nice DP.
August 24th, 200911:54 pm
Boog: “How consistent do you think a starting pitcher consistently needs to be to be consistent enough to win the AL Cy Young?”
Joe: “That’s a great question. I think he’s got to be consistently consistent, but moreso than any other consistent pitcher in the league. Wins are the most important thing, but ERA is also a great stat.”
Boog: “FJM, folks. FJM.”
The Giants do something right. Huge double play.
August 24th, 200911:55 pm
Naw, I’d rather have the Braves be 4.5 games back closer to second than 3.5 games back still in third.
August 24th, 200911:56 pm
And don’t call me surely….
August 24th, 200911:58 pm
Just saw the thing on deadspin about the Kawakami pictures that someone talked about earlier. pretty funny, but I didn’t think anything of the caption when I was looking at them
Lincicum needs a haircut! He looks like lady
August 25th, 200912:00 am
Who’s sitting between Joe and Boog? The LA chief of police?
August 25th, 200912:02 am
Hoho: Nice screen name.
August 25th, 200912:03 am
Bad managing there for SF…. ugh
Man the Giants suck! We could take them any day!
August 25th, 200912:05 am
Mario: You’re right — LaRoche absolutely was not being anything but sincere with his reply about Freeman. Wasn’t being a jerk whatsoever. He had a straight face and just said he honestly didn’t know who he was. Anyone who knows LaRoche, knows that’s not surprising. Dude doesn’t stress about much.
August 25th, 200912:06 am
No way SF wins this….
August 25th, 200912:08 am
I swear if the Braves finish behind the Giants after the showing they’ve put on in this series …
August 25th, 200912:14 am
Wilson has some intestinal fortitude.
This a very good game to watch though. Both teams have had their chances and failed, numerous times
August 25th, 200912:15 am
I know people say spring training doesn’t matter, but it does, it shows how well your club can play in September. And if our ST record says anything, its that we’ll be playing well in the near future. Go Braves!
I’d have intestinal fortitude too in that spot if I could throw 97.
August 25th, 200912:16 am
What more could us Braves fans ask for if the giants win and the rockies cash out the bull pen before a big set against the Dodgers.
August 25th, 200912:23 am
Did anybody hear the drunk fan scream “the economy sucks” on the rockies game LOL
August 25th, 200912:24 am
Steve from OH
August 25th, 2009
You would think that would be a good qualifier…
August 25th, 200912:26 am
A look at the upcoming series at Philly:
Hanson vs. Pedro
Lowe vs. Lee
(My Boy) Jair Jurrjens vs. Blanton
We have the pitching advantage
August 25th, 200912:33 am
The Giants have to score against Adam Eaton right? Please say I’m right.
August 25th, 200912:35 am
You mean the first baseman for the recently reacquired ATL Braves doesn’t/didn’t keep tabs on our prospects. That guy is an ADD ridden space cadet.
p.s. appreciate the article. Good stuff!
Wayne in Utah
August 25th, 200912:37 am
Would Rochy have a couple of extra rooms this Christmas? Was thinking about taking the crew to Disneyland, but Adam’s spread would be nice too!
August 25th, 200912:38 am
I heard that someone sucks monkey balls
August 25th, 200912:46 am
Regarding the Rockies Giants game; the longer the better for the Braves.
August 25th, 200912:49 am
Yes, but I hope the Giants find a way…
August 25th, 200912:50 am
is anyone still hanging there? rockies vs san fran game still going on
August 25th, 200912:51 am
Im starting to think the Rockies made a deal with the devil.
August 25th, 200912:53 am
yea in the 19th works just fine for yours truly.
August 25th, 200912:56 am
know people say spring training doesn’t matter, but it does, it shows how well your club can play in September (jurrjen)
now that’s funny. Half the team is different now from then, and even if it wasn’t it wouldn’t make any sense.
August 25th, 200912:57 am
I’m starting to think the same thing about our GM.
August 25th, 200912:59 am
Their not far from it…14th now.
August 25th, 20091:03 am
And on to the 14th. id
And since this blog includes flick discussion ( thanks for making it multidimensional ) Has anyone seen Seven Pounds? Got the day off tomorrow – is it worth staying up for?
August 25th, 20091:06 am
Edgar Renteria – First Jair now the triple. Thanks Buddy..
August 25th, 20091:08 am
Lets go rockies! Or Giants! Its win win for the Braves!
August 25th, 20091:09 am
Worth trying the safety squeeze with velez at the plate? He bunts well and can fly.
Nevermind! Go Giants.
Tracy: “I love frutista freezes!”
Tulo: “How does that help us?”
Tracy: “Shut up”
August 25th, 20091:10 am
Good work Giants
August 25th, 20091:11 am
Boom goes the dynamite !!
I liked ‘Seven Pounds’. It was a better than average movie…..staying up longer is up to you.
August 25th, 20091:12 am
Edgar Renteria – First Jair now the triple. Thanks Buddy..
And McLouth technically…
August 25th, 20091:13 am
Tracy: I love Fruitista Freezes
Ump: How does that help prove that Winn was out of the base line
Tracy: Shut up
Hopefully the Dodgers pound on the Rockies the next three games too.
August 25th, 20091:14 am
Watch you want to bet someone says “Adam Beaton” on the Rockies blogs.
Clint would’ve managed that!
August 25th, 20091:16 am
Thanks Heath, Captain Morgan and I will stay up a little longer.
August 25th, 20091:17 am
Giants offense is so bad that they will eventually play themselves out of this race. Rox are the long term threat. Hopefully the Gigantes can close out a 3 run lead. 3.5 back sounds great to me. Then these guys get to beat up on each other again this weekend. Huge week for the ATL. Down with the Padres!
August 25th, 20091:19 am
What’s going on in the Rockies/Giants game? Yahoo says Schierholtz has been facing Eaton with a full count for about 20 minutes now. Either Yahoo’s frozen or he’s fouled of a lot of pitches.
August 25th, 20091:20 am
If the Rockies get into a save situation and Medders gets out of it, don’t you think he deserves a win and a save?
August 25th, 20091:21 am
Medders: “Charlie Horse!”
August 25th, 20091:22 am
jeffrey d, Giants scored 3 runs and the rockies are trying to rally
Giants up 4-1 in bottom of 14th. just walked the leadoff batter.
Yea, your right. I forgot Gorkys ( was never going to play for the Braves ) Hernandez was the centerpiece of that deal. Frank’s doing well.
August 25th, 20091:23 am
August 25th, 20091:25 am
Good game in LA too. Tigers were up 10-0, now it’s 10-7 with the tying run coming up.
Boog’s announcing too
August 25th, 20091:27 am
August 25th, 20091:28 am
Tulo’s going yard!
Matt Diaz: past nine games .483 AVG, 3 HR, 8 RBI, 9 R. BaseballMonster.com rates him No. 5 most valuable 5×5 offensive fantasy player.
August 25th, 20091:30 am
This is how I want the rockies to go into the Dodger series!
August 25th, 20091:31 am
How? w/ a tulo dong or a 14 inning loss?
Fowler is not having fun out there in 2nd base
August 25th, 20091:32 am
Alonso, with an injury
August 25th, 20091:33 am
Rockies never go quietly.
bases juiced in denver. will adam eaton channel rick camp?
August 25th, 20091:34 am
I think Marmols is the Giant’s pitching coach…
The Miller guy sucks….throw a strike! It’s the pitcher.
We talk baseball, other sports, music, movies, BBQ and whatever (except politics or religion)
